That being said, the food for our party of 6 was actually quite good. The big breakfast (ordered by 2) was large and well prepared, with very good buttermilk pancakes. Excellent hash browns, well prepared eggs, and plenty of food for the reasonable price. They were relatively busy for a Thursday morning (about 10am). Certainly better than any standard chain restaurant (IHOP, Denny's, etc); the food was better than expected and everyone in our group seemed happy with their meal. read more

If your looking for a simple diner experience, this could work. Staff is attentive, friendly and the food comes out quickly. Food is not amazing, but good. Menu is nuts. So many (maybe too many) choices, ranging from salads to burgers, to Mexican, breakfast, even Asian cuisine. Ambience is meh, but it's clean and cozy. It has a view of the bowling alley, which is fun to watch if you're there at night. Best time to go is on a Friday night when everyone is eating at the more popular restaurants. Lilly's café is always delicious! It's very homey feeling inside and the service is comfortable and friendly. I go here once a week. My girlfriends and I meet here for a pre-dinner meeting in advance of our Bible study. They always recognizes the minute we walk in and give us extra special attention. I have no problem giving us separate checks and do a good job of keeping track of who ordered what. I have ordered quite a few things on the menu here. I have enjoyed many of their dinner plates including the pork chops and the hamburger steak. My girlfriends like to order breakfast lunch and dinner items and they make them for us anytime of day. The last time I was there I had a BLT with avocado and it was amazing. Lots of bacon and a nice Lee ripe and tomato. The bread was toasted. And the bacon was crispy. They are very good at making sure your drinks are always filled. There are a few sleeper items on the menu that you must check out. They make an open faced turkey sandwich and an open face meatloaf sandwich that has always gotten rave reviews. I think If you have read this far, you just need to get off of your butt and go. If you see a beautiful Asian lady wandering around the dining room singing, that's Lily. You were lucky if you get to hear her saying. When you walk in the door you are greeted with a very friendly hello! Service couldn't have been better. I ordered the veggie omelet no cheese with home fries. It was not greasy at all and was full of spinach and mushrooms! My husband ordered the basic scrambled egg and hash browns with grilled ham. We had salsa on the side which was perfect with a medium heat level. He really enjoyed his as well. The ham was lean and nicely grilled. Denny's but in a more low key form. This is one of those paces where you don't really have anything negative or positive to say, this place is just whatever. I ordered the teriyaki bowl & patty melt with fries. The teriyaki bowl was pretty good & the patty melt was so so. The fries lack flavor & cost extra, I don't recommend. The diner itself is clean & spacious, it's actually connected to the Valencia Lanes bowling alley. The service is very friendly & fast despite it being somewhat crowded when I went. I probably won't be returning here in the future but I'm glad I can say I gave this place a try. read more

This morning my husband and I saw Lily's Cafe and decided to try it. Oh my gosh, I am so glad we did. The Cafe is so delightfully decorated and clean. The staff is so nice as well. Our breakfast was delicious as was the coffee. They serve a half orange with orange and banana slices in it. That was wonderful. I think this is now a favorite restaurant. However, I checked out the amazing retro Bowling Alley. I felt like I walked into 1950 or on a very cool movie set. Such a great experience today. I just had to share! Came here on my way to six flags magic mountain since it was a few exits before the theme park and I know how expensive food was inside. I came here and had the meatloaf which was by far one of the best restaurant meatloafs ever! I got beef and vegetable soup along with vegetables on the side also toast and mashed potatoes came with the meal! It was sooooo much food for a low price too! I got my mashed potatoes, meatloaf, toast, soup, veggies, and coffee for like $16! All the prices were good and there were a ton of food options but I'm glad I got to try the meatloaf since I haven't had meatloaf in idk how long! Love this place. Came here for the first time today after walking out of another spot when they had us waiting 10 minutes with no service. They were soo friendly when we walked in, got out drinks, placed our order and had food in no time. Who I assume is Lily was the sweetest woman. This is not a $ price restaurant. More like $$ or $$$. I ordered a greek salad for $11.95 and they charge $8.95 to add grilled chicken and $10.95 for salmon. But the salmon salad is $13.95. Today was the first time my husband and I visited this restaurant. I ordered a French Dipped Sandwich and my husband had Liver and Onions. My sandwich was very poor with the meat looking like the soles of old shoes and tasting about the same. The roast beef looked very compressed and as if it had been prepared two weeks before and put in the refrigerator and on a small old roll. However, the Cole Slaw that accompanied my plate was excellent. Frankly, you can get a much better roast beef sandwich at Arby's. My husbands liver and onions was also terrible. The liver, again ,appeared to have been refrigerated for along time and had an off-taste, it was not edible. This plate was accompanied by steamed vegetables and mashed potatoes both of which were fine. The our waiter was very good however the food was substandard. We will not be returning. read more

Dear Yelpers, Sometimes I love you. You've helped me make some great decisions. This, unfortunately, was one of the worst food decisions I've made in while. You really let me down here. There were so many things wrong at Lily's, it deserves a list. 1. The table was not clean, but we were instructed to take the table. The server cleared the previous parties table while we were seating at the table. It took him less than thirty seconds to clean the table. It wouldn't have been such a bad thing to wait to seat us till the table was actually clean. 2. The coffee was horrible. Worst than gas station coffee. It tasted instant - wait, instant is better. No amount of cream and sugar could have saved it. 3. The boyfriend picked up the ketchup bottle and ended up with a palm full of sticky, old ketchup. Ew. 4. The omelets are not true omelets. They are scrambles. 5. My English muffin was burnt. So burnt that a lady at the table next to us leaned over to me and said, "Really? Are you going to send that back?" 6. The hashbrowns were good. This is Lily's only saving grace. 7. The corn beef hash was horrible. It tasted how wet dog food smells. The hash was not cooked thoroughly; you could actually see the chunks of fat in the patty. My Irish ancestors rolled in their graves as soon as I took a bite. 8. I accidentally left a torta from Tacos Manzano (in NoHo) in the car overnight. After breakfast, when we got in the car, I ripped into that day old, warm torta. I was honestly happier with my day old torta than I was at Lily's. I think that speaks volumes in itself. read more

Very popular morning spot for alot of retired guys. Its decent but lets not get crazy, its a diner along side a bowling alley. Breakfast was decent but I will not be running back anytime soon. The things I did like; 1. the lady (owner / manager ?) sings out loud which is cute and she is a very happy lady. Unfortunately, its gospel music but its her place so she can sing what she wants. 2. So, when I first walked in, I wasnt too sure I was going to like the place. As soon as I sat down three members of the staff came by one after another and asked if we were ready to order. Like, come on, let me look at the menus first. In addition, they are really small, crowded, and do not have their own bathroom, instead sharing it with the bowling alley. Okay so that's the bad side, however, I quickly fell in love with the place. They are small but have lots of seating and make the most of it, and plus they're really cozy. They have amazingly delicious food, and their drinks are okay too. The staff is extremely friendly! In all honesty, I cant imagine that I won't be back.
