Made a reservation for 1:30, got there at 1:15. Waited till 2:05 and everyone who arrived after us got seated before us. Every time a table was cleared, people who came after was seated. Every time we asked the girl, all she could say was yes I'm sorry, this shouldn't have happened. A table that was meant for us had its layout changed last minute and the girl told us it was a decision made by the waiters, she had no control over it. Very disappointing! That was our opinion of our very first (and last) visit to Limani. Touted as a high-end and beautiful establishment, it had an upscale look. We decided to try the "prix-fixe menu, priced at $40pp. This three course meal includes an appetizer, a main course, and a dessert. We were a party of 4 adults. The tomato salad appetizer was good, not great. The portobello mushroom was good, but only 4 very thin and small slices. The Greek salad was fine. As for main courses, nothing was noteworthy. The fish fillet was tasteless, the 1.5 pound lobster was dry and under-sized. The fillet mignon was about the size of a silver dollar. The 3 lamb chops were extremely thin. The desserts were acceptable. It's hard to ruin ice cream! If this meal was a taste of Limani, I don't wish to taste anything here again. read more

Attention is wonderful here, as well as the food. It's just hard to ignore the staff rushing everyone through a $300 dinner, whether they're doing it with body language or commenting to each other in Spanish. I'd be down to get rushed out if I was paying for an early bird prix fix menu, but an overly priced menu that had me practically cutting through the plate to be able to cut through a piece of lobster - really? No. The food, besides that, really does taste great, and the establishment is beautiful, the only other down side is that they literally miscalculate their tabs. Either their computers have bad calculators, or they purposely enter the wrong total - but after adding up our drink tab (which is listed separately from the $100 per person for food section) - we realized the math was off by a few dollars. The dollar amount isn't an amount that would break the bank, but if you do that to your customers enough, of course you'll be loaded eventually. When we asked about the inconsistency, they quickly explained that if a martini is "straight up" dollars are added to it automatically - but the tab won't reflect that. Shady? Maybe. Would I go back? This place has great food whether you're a seafood lover or a meat lover. I like to go to Limani at least once a month. Anytime I go, I usually get the lobster since it's better here than many other places I've gone to. It's always cooked to perfection and seasoned perfectly. Their Greek fries are amazing. They put some grated cheese over them and they are crispy and so tasty. Great place to go for a good dinner. read more

So 4 of us decided to try this place out based on reviews and the area we were in.. so let me break it down by what we ordered. 1- salmon, 2-sirloin steak, 3-filet mignon, lamb chops and hummus. Hummus was fresh but needed more flavor/spices IMO. Salmon was nicely done and my friend was happy to have it. Lamb chops were very mediocre and not as good as we expected them to be from a Greek place like this. Chops were missing flavor and spices and the tenderness they should have had. Chops were literally our most disappointing item on the table. Okay so now to the best items on the table for us. Sirloin and filet mignon were DELICIOUS! They were juicy, tender, lots of flavor and was done perfectly as asked (medium). They were the highlight of our night. Just for the steaks alone, i would definitely go back. It seems as if they were short staffed as we had to constantly wait to get someone's attention to our table. But i do want to add, that once we got their attention, they were nice and pleasant. I wouldn't go back there ever. Soft shell crabs, were not. I have eaten softshell crabs hundreds of time. These were tasteless due to hot pepper flavor. The over priced dinning threw another negative aspect of dinning there. The fried Sardines also was a poor choice. Geez, I love seafood but never again at this place. Gorgeous restaurant-Unfortunately disappointing food . I got the Loup de Mer and some of us got the Dorado . All the plates looked exactly like the same fish down to the capers and same presentation heavily drenched in olive oil. We got greasy uncrisp potato chips and bowl of bitter sour tasting greens in water with no seasoning whatsoever. My husband's lamb chops were oily and totally unseasoned as well. At these prices you are better off at your neighborhood Greek restaurant which probably has fresher tasting food. After 5:30 it is incredibly loud . Hard to understand the appeal here- comes off as a fine food establishment with poor quality control. read more

I went here for Mother's Day. They did a great job on the buildout. I remember when this was a car dealership! Everything went very smoothly and the staff was accommodating in letting us choose between dining al fresco or inside. The food was good but not great. The Gold Coast is known for its Greek food and fine dining and Limani is the right place that nails both, always lives up to the expectations.Limani is one of the true Greek gems of Gold Coast on Long Island. The exceptional food and flawless hospitality the experience is always worth the price. For starters the tomato salad is cut in big chunks with delicious feta on the side. The lobster bisque was creamy and rich with small chunks of lobster that was not too salty. Skip the fried calamari but make sure to order the grilled octopus instead also the scallops were out of this world. For our entrees our whole fish were fresh and lightly seasoned with horat on the side. Both the seabass and the dorado were exceptional. We weren't a big fan of their baklava but the carrot cake and their sorbets are always delicious. Make sure to bring your wallet the prices are above avarage, but again every restaurant in this neighborhood marks their prices high. There are tons of Greek food on the Gold Coast of Long Island but only a few restaurants push the bar above and beyond and this is one of them. read more

Was there on Saturday night and waited 20 min (without exaggeration) to have my car valet parked. Can't park on street because its a busy thoroughfare. Complained to the manager, I believe his name was Nico. He could not care less, and shrugged his shoulders and said "what can I do?". Waiter was not very attentive and seemed distracted.... even when taking orders. Hardly saw him after the runners dropped the food on our table. Definitely one of my favorite restaurants in LI. Great ambience. Impeccable wait staff. Love...love the grilled octopus...If you love seafood this is the place . My husband who is not a seafood eater , also gives Limani high marks for their chicken and steak dishes. My 10 year old boy loves their grilled octopus, seafood platter , calamari and scallops dishes. We brought my in laws from Florida and they enjoyed the food and service tremendously. I had lunch there recently with a friend. The food was decent. However the restaurant was mostly empty and it was extremely slow service sitting outside. Additionally we ordered iced teas with our lunch and they came in a tiny glass and charged us four dollars extra for each refill we asked which I thought was ridiculous. read more
