This is a neighborhood donut shop that has been in operation for decades. It's located on the northwest corner of a notorious three road intersection in PB. Linda's Donut Shop is one of only a few businesses in this small plaza, of which one is a pretty popular taco shop. Just a few shared parking spaces were available so it could get tricky depending on the time of the day. The operating hours were limited to the morning except on weekends when the shop closes at 1 pm. I arrived shortly before noon which meant a good chunk of the daily inventory had already been sold out. That included all of the jelly filled varieties which was one type that I really wanted to try. Those sold for $2.50 each while the frosted and plain cake choices were $2.25 apiece. A half dozen would set you back $13 and a full dozen cost $23. I sure miss the days when one could purchase a dozen for less than ten dollars! My picks were a plain glazed bar, chocolate glazed, and a strawberry glazed topped with rainbow sprinkles. Each one was pillowy soft and still fairly fresh. The best one was the plain bar for its simplicity. I am not sure that they were worth $2+ a pop though. I was happy to support a local business, however there are many more choices of donut purveyors nowadays so it's unlikely I will return here. read more

We stopped at Linda's Donuts recently to pick up a Too Good To Go order. For those that don't know, To Good To Go is an app for fighting good waste, and I love that Linda's Donuts participates! The service here was fantastic! I didn't get the woman's name but she was so helpful as we picked up our order. It was originally in 2 small bags but she helped us out by putting them in a nice big box to make carrying them easier. The donuts themselves were good, and I especially enjoyed the two old fashioned ones! They had a good balance of crunchy outside and soft inside, and the glazes were so flavorful. Lady is rude, doesn't listen and is not friendly. There when it opens and half the donuts weren't even ready. Wouldn't let me pick my donuts until she had the box already full - then proceeded to take donuts back out of box and put back on rack and then stood there staring at me saying "go, pick". These Donuts are so good. If you like the cakey donut that is not too heavy then this is the place you should go. They have a great assortment of different types of donuts see the photo attached. I like a simple glaze donut so my favorite is probably the donut holes. They were so moist and perfect size and delicious. The worker is also very nice and helpful. When I was there a unhoused person was in the restaurant and she gave him free coffee and a few free donuts. Such a simple Act of kindness. This donut shop is in Pacific Beach on Grand Avenue I highly recommend you check it out. It's a very small shop with delicious donuts. They do have parking and every time I've gone I have seen spots of available. So very easy for you to park and get in and out of. Also the prices are very good. read more

Such a great spot. Immediately when you walk in you are greeted with a smell of delicious and fresh donuts. They are fresh, light and dough is so soft. Pretty reasonable too. August 2019 We walked out after the rude guy did not want to comply with a simple request. What TF happened to the customer is always right? *(I don't really believe that) So we were ordering donuts for our friends and just a few not like a dz or a 100! We started ordering and said to please put the donuts in their own little donut bags. The reason was we were taking them to the coffee shop to share with friends who I doubt would of appreciated everyone TOUCHING the donuts with dirty hands ir the donuts being smashed by the other donuts. This jerk pretended like he could not understand English we know not only di they understand ENGLISH most speak fluent Spanish! I picked up a plain buttermilk bar after having breakfast next door. It was a okay buttermilk bar as these doughnut bars go. It had good flavor but the texture was off. It had a good exterior crunch but the inside was on the dry side. It did not have that semi dense nature and overall impressive moistness that a very good buttermilk bar offers. They young lady who was working the counter was nice. They offer pretty much the normal array of doughnuts and such, and of course they offer coffee and hot chocolate with a variety of other beverages. There's a small parking lot in the back with additional parking in the rear. The doughnut cost $1.25. read more

The food review- *I purchased four donuts; two glazed and two chocolate coated. The donuts were absolutely delicious! Even after a day in the refrigerator. They tasted great!* The Customer Service- The elderly gentleman behind the counter was very rude. I tried to stay lighthearted and overlook his bad attitude, but the way he acted was unprofessional. One day when the bf and I were doing laundry next to 7-11, we were convinced we were experiencing of extreme heat exhaustion/hunger because every twenty minutes or so we could smell donuts from no where in particular. Upon finishing our 77 loads of laundry we happened to be turning out of the parking lot to leave and we see Lindas Donuts...open after ten pm. Side note: the fact that donut shops here are open past 11 am on this side of the world still blows my mind. Oh and that all the shops have the same PINK boxes as opposed to white ones. Bizarre... Back on track. So we pop in just as fresh donuts are coming out of the fryer. OMGGGGGG. Its like liquid donut status because my donut was not even cooled off before I wolfed it down. This place blows. I live a few blocks away and I've tried to go 4 times - 3/4 times they were closed... at regular hours of the day. Their sign doesn't help since it doesn't list hours. The one time they were actually open the options were relatively slim, but I had walked there and I wasn't NOT going to get a donut . When I got inside the shop I stood at the counter for at least 5 minutes before someone came out from the back to help. How this place is even still in business is beyond me. Perla next door is bomb though if you get unlucky like me and have to stand outside a locked door looking in on a donut shop at 9AM. read more
