The grandkids and I had a really fun day at Belmont Park today and they couldn't wait to go to Mr. Frostie to end their day on a high note The kids love their corn, dogs and hot dogs and Frosty's with rainbow sprinkles or chocolate sprinkles. Still family owned and popular and the prices are so reasonable compared to everywhere else. This is such a great place to come with your family. Service is always with a big smile by the owners and their family members and friends, and they have nice tables in the sun and a little kids table and everyone's happy. The line continues to form and people are helped very quickly and serve very quickly. Just a happy place !

Come here for their soft serve. Don't even think twice. People here from ages 2-80 enjoy their soft serve here.

Quick service and awesome ice cream!! We got a sundae with hot fudge, chocolate cake, and nuts. It was great! And for a good price too only $7! It was a pretty large sundae, definitely shareable. There's a small parking lot and it seems like street parking as well, a few tables outside with shade. :)

One of best hidden gems of PB. I usually go on off day because these place get packed during summertime. The staffs are usually friendly, the ice creams/other food are affordable, and the vibes are great. Definitely check this place out if you're looking somewhere to treat friends or family or just by yourself.

Love love love Mr Frostie! Perfect place to get my milkshake fix. Plenty of options for ice cream selection and toppings. The last few times I dropped by I ordered my favorite: Milkshake with Vanilla Ice Cream and Heath Toppings. Their milkshake is thicker than most places and super tasty good! They have a few seating options for enjoying it there and a small parking lot that can get full quick. There are more spots for parking around the back block parallel to Garnet. Service is friendly from the cashiers and overall a solid option for ice cream and milkshakes in PB!

There was a line to order but it moved very fast!! You order at a window and they bring it out to you at the next window. We got the nutty nutty and watermelon ice cream!! The nutty nutty has hot fudge, vanilla ice cream, peanuts and whipped cream. Hot fudge and peanuts are my favorite combo for ice cream!!! Unfortunately if you eat it too slow the hot fudge will melt your ice cream!! My bf got the watermelon ice cream and it was nice a tart! It kinda tastes like a watermelon jolly rancher! Overall a decent price for ice cream! It was about 10$ for the two. Definitely a must if you are in the area if you want a sweet treat!!!

Mr Frostie is a classic establishment in PB that's been around for a long time. It has that old Americana charm when ice cream was much more simple back then. Aside from their shakes which there are a lot of candy-related flavors, the ice cream flavors are simply chocolate, vanilla and twist. They also have varieties of sundaes and banana splits and even a dirt cup! I got the Hot Fudge Cake which was so good! You can't go wrong with chocolate cake, whipped cream, vanilla ice cream, hot fudge, and a lot of peanuts. Such a classic combination of flavors and hits all the nostalgia spots in me. For only $7, this is very reasonable for the amount you get. We also got a chocolate dipped swirl cone ($4.50) and that was solid too. Service was also extremely fast; you order and literally walk to the next booth and it's already ready! Mr Frostie is awesome and I'm so glad to see a place like this still going strong. It's a reminder that simplicity and affordability can still be a great combination.

I always make sure to stop by Mr Frostie when I'm in town because it's my favorite soft serve place ever. Go-to order is the hot fudge cake sundae and I swap out the nuts for crushed oreos. Service is always friendly and fast, and they support the community! They got new tables/seating now. They still have their small credit card fee but really reasonable. Parking lot is tiny but I usually am able to find a spot on the residential street down the block.

Pretty good gelato/ice cream shop. Owner was super friendly and nice. Decent prices and a fair amount of flavors to choose from. I'd get ice cream from here again. What I liked best is not overly sugary

This is a PB classic. Perfect to cool off during a hot summer day. I had a Reese's milkshake and my friend had an Oreo and cookie dough milkshake. Next time I will probably try and order mine with chocolate ice cream to really get that chocolate overload. Overall, it was good and the workers were quick and kind :)

$2.50 for this delicious soft serve twist? Yes please! I love this classic old school place. Affordable and delicious. Keep on going Mr Frostie! We love you!

Long shot, but any chance they have dairy-free options for those who may have issues with lactose? Didn't see anything on the website, so I figured I'd check in as locals summer picks up steam!

They have frozen choc dipped bananas

Used to come here all the time growing up but why don't you ever have the butterscotch dip for ice cream? Honestly my family and I will buy y'all another matching so you can BRING THE BUTTERSCOTCH BACK!!!! NOBODY LIKES CHERRY! 💔💔💔

The flavors are alternated daily I would call and ask when butterscotch would be available

What's the flavor of the day today- Sunday 8/5?

    Lemon custard !!!

My friends and I were just looking to get a coffee in Little Italy, but when we walked in and saw all the delicious treats we had to try something else as well. I ordered a latte and neglected to tell them it was for here so I was given a paper cup, but they give real cups if you ask. The latte was good, and my friend bought a kitchen sink type cookie with chocolate, coconut, and macadamia nuts. It was warm and gooey good! Another friend tried the gelato and said it was very good. There are a few tables inside and tables out in front outside. We sat outside and enjoyed the beautiful San Diego weather. The decor and tables definitely gives you an old school Italian neighborhood vibe with Italian markets right next door. The decor and setting is cute and quirky, including cow sculptures hanging upside down from the ceiling. There were only a couple other visitors when we arrived, as it was near opening time. Our dishes took a whopping 35 minutes to be ready, and service was not very friendly nor helpful. Luckily, the music playing through the speakers added a nice vibe to the place, songs like Our House by Madness and Can't Fight This Feeling. We ordered the brunch pizza (with eggs cooked overeasy) and the breakfast flatbread which looked almost identical when served, as well as an iced mocha. The quality of the pizza was pretty average, and the eggs were slightly overcooked. The drink was really good, made fresh, with a smooth taste and a nice sweetness to it, the plastic cup coated in chocolate sauce. It tasted more like chocolate milk with a hint of coffee, which I personally enjoyed. They typically serve gelato here, but it would not be ready till almost two hours after opening time. So no milkshakes or cold desserts were available in the morning this past Sunday (no worries, Ghirardelli is just a block away). I appreciate the variety of menu items offered here. But they really should communicate online that their gelato's not ready till two hours into the day. If there's one thing that irks me about an establishment, it's failure to communicate appropriately. Even though our recent visit was somewhat disappointing, I still gave 3 stars, assuming this was an off day for them.

I've worked in Little Italy in the past but have never tried Caffe Italia. I got their Italian sandwich, with the default bread being focaccia. I thought it was tasty as well as their coffee, however my coffee wasn't filled up all the way. It is strong and their roast is bold!
