Updating this to a 1 star after my service today at another Ford Dealership. I'm so disappointed with Sean, Lindsay Ford, and Ford. When I purchased the car, they did not have the door code and had no way of getting it. They told me to come back or take it to any Ford dealership and they could look it up. This was not presented to me by Sean that it would be an extra fee when they failed to give me this code at the time of purchase - when I asked. I go into another Ford Dealership for my 50k mile service and ask them about the code. They tell me that it's an additional $150 because they have to bring out a computer and go into the security system. The service manager at Koons Ford Annapolis tells me that the dealership I bought it at can do it for me. I texted Sean asking about this, and he comes back and lets me know that they would also charge me the fee to retrieve the code. I live an hour away from this dealership, I don't get to the area often. Sean made it seem like it was something easy. I also bought their extended warranty, I would think that after racking up metrics to them they would at least honor my wishes and get me the security code for my car. Lindsay Ford also put me on an list and kept spamming me with me messages about trading my car in. I hadn't even made the first payment on it and they were already trying to get me in to trade in my car for a brand new car. read more

Ford Cheated Me Out of $386.33 -- I Will Never Buy a Ford Again In November 2024, I paid $386.33 at Ford Lindsay for a full spark plug replacement on my 2019 Ford Escape. A few months later, the same misfire returned -- same cylinder, same vibration, same gasoline smell. An independent service center confirmed the spark plugs had never been replaced -- they showed wear consistent with 60,000 miles, not 6,000. Even worse, the serial numbers didn't match what was listed on the invoice. When we brought the actual spark plugs and this evidence to Janet Fincher, Service Lane Manager at Ford Lindsay, she insisted the work had been done, ignored the serial number discrepancy, refused to provide video proof, and rudely told us to leave her office. Ford then demanded we pay another $260 for a "diagnostic inspection" to see if the spark plugs had been replaced -- ignoring the opinions of independent mechanics and disputing all of our complaints and evidence. We spent months emailing and calling Ford Customer Service, only to receive scripted replies and no resolution. After mailing the spark plugs for review, Ford finally wrote back two months later saying they "can't do anything" because the dealership is "independent." After decades of loyalty to Ford, this experience was shocking -- dishonest service, total disregard for customers, and blatant attempts to make us pay more while ignoring all evidence. I will never buy another Ford vehicle and strongly warn others not to -- unless you want to be overcharged, misled, and treated with arrogance when you challenge their mistakes. read more

Just two days later, the car broke down unexpectedly on the road. It was towed back to Lindsay Ford on March 16, and since then, it has been almost a month with no clear updates or repair timeline. I was told parts related to the transmission had arrived, but no progress or explanation has been given. Despite multiple follow-ups and an email sent on April 10, I have received no response. The lack of communication and accountability has been extremely frustrating. This is not what I expected from a dealership after buying a brand new vehicle. I am a maintenance agreement holder, which seemingly doesn't amount to much. I was shocked at how ridiculous this experience with John Kernan was. It's possible he was having a bad week, but to come back 4 days after dropping my vehicle off and for him not to have an answer as to why this supposed 2 day repair couldn't be completed same week was not acceptable. He didn't even seem to care, just told me his repair guy will be back next week and that I could come back then for an answer. The kicker was after I got the vehicle home I noticed 2 wheel covers had disappeared. I didn't even bother complaining as I was just glad to be done with him. You guys have seriously gone downhill. My vehicle has been on site at the Lindsay Service Center for 5 weeks and I have yet to receive any communication from the service team, whatsoever! I've made several calls, sent emails, text messages, with absolutely no response. Every time I call, I'm told that "that's not the experience they want me to have" and that someone will call me back, and that never happens. I am simply looking for information, that's all. Is there a repair estimate? Are they waiting on parts? Is there a line of vehicles ahead my vehicle? Have they even looked at the vehicle?? AVOID this shop. These guys don't know what they're doing and they are terrible at communicating. Specifically John Kernan IV. They had my truck in their shop on two occasions and couldn't figure out why the engine was leaking oil even after having it for almost 5 weeks altogether. They kept telling me to bring it back after 1000 miles for more diagnostics. They were clearly just lazy because I took it to another mechanic and they immediately found gasoline inside the spark plugs and recommended spark plug and fuel induction service, among other engine maintenance that seems to have been overlooked by Ford service techs. Save yourself the trouble and take your car elsewhere. read more

They both knew the truck specs inside out, treated my whole family with respect and patience and made the whole buying experience fun. I contacted Lindsay to order a new Ford Transit. I was told the process was easy: Come in and sign a paper after I picked out the details, pay MSRP, and I'd be out the door in 15 minutes. I stopped in after making an appointment with only half an hour window to get it done, and the salesman wasn't available and offloaded me onto a colleague. He didn't really understand my needs; most Transit customers are commercial, but I have a large family and needed it for those purposes. When we got to finally signing onto the specs, the bait and switch was made and I was told I'd be signing on to pay $5k over MSRP. This led to an entire afternoon of back and forth after I walked out of the typical salesman tactics "I spoke to my manager and I have good news for you! You only have to pay over $3k over MSRP!" The salesman's story changed every time I talked to him and eventually, I said I want everything you're telling me in writing, and he refused and started to backtrack on what I'd be paying, when I could expect the van, etc. I ended up calling Koons and made the order with them easily and without games. I haven't gone through the whole process yet with Koons, so I can't leave a 100% accurate review there yet (but I plan to), but I do know that the ordering process was easy and delightful, and didn't involve salesman tricks. read more

I special ordered a Ford Mach E and waited 4 months. I had the sticker price but they would not show me the sales price. I repeatedly asked him was it going to be above sticker. When ithe car finally arrived they would not tell me the actual sales price. I got a loan and prepared to buy the car. They said the only way for me to get the actual sales price if I signed a paper saying that I would buy the vehicle today if I agreed to the price. I signed the paper and they showed me the sticker price and then they showed me a $15,000 mark up. These guys are crooks. When I tried to take a picture of this the sales person snatched it back from me and said I was not allowed to take a picture. The service department is horrible as well. read more

.I'm here for a estimate for some body damage done to my vehicle. I dealt with "Claudia" who was very quick, friendly and knowledgeable. She went through the whole process with me from estimate, repair and rental car if needed along with optional other work. I got a call from "Matt" within 3 days to tell me that the bodywork to my truck was complete and ready for pickup which is one day earlier than expected. Matt was exceptional on the phone with the pick up process. Once I arrived I again spoke with Matt and he grabbed my truck and we went over all the repairs made, paperwork and he made a call to the rental car place to get my rental. The repairs done were done beautiful, temporary mats were used. All in all an awesome experience with Lindsay and they made a new customer for life. read more

Terrible experience! Terrible communication! They agreed on a price on the phone but after I made a 1 hour drive to close the deal, they hiked up the price of the truck 1200$. After I left, I called them again and they said they can take another 1000$ off but would not be able to honor the deal agreed on the phone on. My daughter and I came here to purchase a "new to us" used SUV. My daughter located the SUV on a website that said it was available at Lindsay Ford. My daughter called Lindsay Ford to confirm they had the SUV and cost. They confirmed. We went to test it out. When we got to Lindsay Ford, we were greeted by Alexa. How wonderful she was! She let us test drive. We spoke about it. She offered an another option that just arrived to their location. We test drove that one. We agreed to purchase if some items were fixed. It was agreed. We came back a couple days later after confirmation of fixed items. We signed papers. They sold us the SUV. Easy Peasy. But there's more. Alexa and everyone in the office there had genuine smiles and positive vibes. That's how we knew we were making the right decision. We honestly felt like family. While we waited briefly for our paperwork, other Lindsay Ford associates came over to talk to us and not even about our purchase. Just life and good times! They eagerly await you to sell a car bit when it comes to repairs..theu tranfer you around or dont answer and all they can say is no one is available. How s no one available for thrre hours to give estimates to the people who bought from your dealership? All I was looking for was an eatimate on motor mount replacements and I couldnt even get that, and it's the same at all dealerships. I've never before been given such a run around. Ohh, but if you finally get an appoinymemt then they'll eagerly tell you that you need to do more repairs and pay more money. I'm gonna get rid of my ford car and get another Toyota. Such extensive trash!! This service department (and the advisors) are money-grubbing, unethical and for the garbage heap. 'O' specifically (full name omitted to protect the guilty) has attempted to overcharge me for services and parts on multiple occasions...I presume because I am a woman. Unfortunately for him, and Lindsay's Service Department, my father is a mechanic. Unfortunately for me, my father lives too far away to be able to fix my car in moments like these. After realizing the price-gouging that was taking place during my most recent 'estimate' process, I declined all of their 'suggestions' in favor of more reasonable prices. Not to be deprived of too much money, they added the trusty "shop supplies" charge to the order to ensure that they could pad their pockets. Another advisor told me, though he was hesitant to speak on the 'work' of another advisor, that it was probably because I am responsible for the 'rags' they use to absorb liquids. Have you ever heard such tomfoolery?!?! AND NOTE: The first time I took my car in the for same issue as this time (a few months ago), I was told by the Service Manager (by accident, I assume) that the technician had inadvertently erased the error codes, but he was sure there was no actual problem. The patronization from the Service Manager was epic, as though my dainty female mind couldn't make sense of the subtle changes in my cars shifting and driving patterns. He did, however, assure me that if I insisted on having the car checked out, I could leave it for 2-3 weeks until the transmission person had a chance to look over it. DECLINE!!! But in desperation (and sheer stupidity, I see now), I returned this week to see if the car could now be fixed. NOW, though...the options are a $6,500 replace of the transmission or a $4,500 'repair'. As I said initially...Lindsay Service Department is TRASH!!! read more

Hi everyone, I know it's not unusual for dealers to include fees as part of a car purchase. I've bought many cars and a "processing fee" or "acquisition fee" is typical. What I didn't expect was for Lindsay Ford to try to charge me an extra $3000 "Market Demand Fee" along with two $1500 freight charges. This is what happened when I went to pick up a Ford Bronco that I had waited over a year and a half for after a number of delays - The total cost of the vehicle presented by the Lindsay representative was $4500 more than the agreement I made with Lindsay Ford in Wheaton MD months before. Lindsay Ford of Wheaton's response - All the other dealerships are charging more than MSRP for the 2021 Bronco and we do not make much money off these cars to begin with. The fact is, Lindsay Ford is increasing the price on these already reserved vehicles because they know the reservation holders are stuck with 2 options - pay the up charge or don't buy the car. Once a reservation is locked in and the vehicle delivered, the customer cannot switch to another dealership. Another fact - Other dealerships in majority are NOT charging Bronco reservation holders prices above MSRP. As Lindsay Ford swindles their customers, other dealerships are taking an honest approach. See the link at the bottom of my post for reputable dealers that are charging MSRP or less for the Bronco. Koons Ford and Ted Britt Ford for example. Once the back and forth on price was finished they were able to reduce the fees some but still far from what was agreed when I put my deposit down. The next surprise - They declined to accept anything but their own financing. Declaring that they only sold vehicles to customers that paid cash or financed through Ford Credit. This is a lie. They even went as far to pull my credit report without my permission, more than once. All in all it took 4-5 hours just to pay Lindsay Ford and escape with my vehicle. I entered the dealership excited to buy a new car and left exhausted and upset. Though a few of the people I dealt with at the dealership were friendly, I cannot overlook the deception and shameful practices at Lindsay Ford. Ordered a maverick on November 2nd. They refused to accept my X-plan PIN for some made-up reason, so they could get more $ on the sale. A month later, no confirmation that they ever submitted my order, and they have repeatedly ignored all of my emails / calls asking to find out what happened. Now the car is sold out and it's too late to order somewhere else. I have never attempted to purchase a car from someone who cared this little about a customer. I think the reason must be is that when these rare cars get ordered on a customer's behalf, it's at MSRP - but once they arrive on the lot they can be sold at huge markup to someone not willing to wait. Stay away from the service dept. Brought my car there with what I later learned was an emissions problem. Ten days and $1000 later my car is returned un-repaired. They reset the 'service engine soon' light and told me it was fixed, but it came back on 1 mile down the road. Turns out many of the 'repairs' were for things unrelated to the problem at hand. Throughout, the service department was extremely difficult to reach, almost never returned calls, and poorly communicated what was going to be done and when the car would be ready. I take back my initial 5 star review. The buying experience was awesome and fast. The problem is that after you buy your vehicle, they could care less about you. Upon inquiry about my mustang, I was able to schedule a visit within 15 minutes. Now, I've been trying to cancel one of my extended warranties, one that I wasn't fully aware of when purchasing, and they've just been pushing me around different employees without a clear cut answer. Avoid this collision shop like the plague. Without going into a very long story, the incompetency of the staff was overwhelming. They at first refused a repair until it was approved by GEICO and even when GEICO approved it they still wouldn't give me my car. I called GEICO to complain, and they said they would talk to the collision center to straighten it out. The collision center then said the car would be ready on Saturday morning, but then called me on Friday late afternoon, telling me the car wouldn't be ready until Monday because the car washer had gone home. I called Monday morning and said I would be there at 11 a.m. They said all was good. But when I arrived, they again said GEICO had not approved the transaction and couldn't give me the car. This dealership is VERY sneaky. I caught our salesman (Jose Real) in several lies, about pricing of the car. There's also a $1900 price that they WILL place on the sale of your car, called Blue Oval certification. This is only for oil changes and tire rotation but they try to up-sale it like it's more than just that. You do not get the full value of $2k. Additionally, they promised to order me all-weather mats as part of the deal...& two weeks later still haven't had any success on that. Whenever I call, there is no manager available to speak with me. They literally have POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE, SNEAKY USED CAR SALESMAN, and their building carries odor. I DEFINITELY RECOMMEND KOONS FORD OF SILVER SPRING.... it's only 20 minutes away from here. Esta concesionaria es terrible, son extremadamente astutos. After reading reviews, I was very hesitant with coming into this dealership. I am so glad that I gave Lindsay of Wheaton a try. My sales person Natalie was very knowledgeable and professional. She was upfront with me about their "Blue Oval" maintenance package, so I was prepared for the rise in my cars price. Natalie even went out of her way to pick up my title for my trade in that I forgot at my house. Great service!! The finance manager Karen was also very professional and sweet. She explained things well and was very personable. Overall not the "nightmare" that I was expecting. Granted the building does needs some updating and new wallpaper.
