    50. House Special Mei Fun 本樓米粉

We ordered take out here last night and they hooked it up! We ordered crab Rangoons, teriyaki chicken and chow mei fun. The chow mei fun wasn't exactly what we expected but it was SO TASTY regardless so we will order again, and recommend to others. Especially since they gave us so much extra food, and cookies. 10/10 for us, especially for the price point

We decided to try this based on a friend's raving reviews. Honestly, our expectations were low for a "fast food" Chinese Restaurant. WOW, were we wrong! First, the portion sizes are HUGE, and for the price, we expected a third of the serving we received. We had placed the order online and were given a pickup time. When I walked in and asked about our order, they had yet to receive the online order. The owner apologized, and they prepared our order quickly. The response from the owner and staff was excellent and above the service we are accustomed to at other places. They even gave us a free order of Chinese Donuts due to the lost online order that was outside their control. Over the last three weeks, we have returned three more times, and the speed, order accuracy, and portion sizes have been consistent each time. The food is always fresh and hot, and the customer service from all the staff is above par. The restaurant is very clean. They offer an expansive menu of fresh foods. The portion sizes are incredible, we order a large meat entree and fried rice, and it is enough food for us to have a full dinner and our lunches for the following day. Our dinner tonight was $21.00 before we added a $10 tip. We like to tip for great food that exceeds our expectations. Not bad to get a full dinner and lunch the following day for $31.00, including tip. TIP: If you pick up your order to take out, they have serving items and a full complement of condiments such as Duck Sauce, Hot Mustard, and much more beside the drink machine. We highly recommend and will be repeat customers!

I had the pleasure of ordering take out from Ling Ling last night and was so glad that I did! Their food variety is very different than Panda Express. Now, we just get the best flavors from China and Taiwan. The staff members are super friendly. I am finally able to put my Mandarin to use and surprised that I can still order some of the food in Mandarin, lol. Next, I'll have to practice my Taiwanese, lol. I got the "Hot and Sour Soup," "Teriyaki Chicken," "Chicken Fried Rice," and "Mei Fun." You may be asking what is Mei Fun? Its a type of very thin noodle that is stir fried with vegetables. They dont put meat in it. Its catered to both Vegeterians and Carnivores as well! It opened on May 11th! Come and get some grub! Find this hidden gem that's across from Ingles!

Against our better judgment, we went with Whataburger's Dawsonville location. This might be my first review for them on Yelp, but it is not the first time there and all three times in the space of almost a year have been equally terrible. Let me put it in perspective... I spent several years of my childhood in Texas, where Whataburger is about as much as an iconic institution as Atlanta's Varsity. Imagine growing up and moving east where there's no Whataburger in your state. And then imagine joining the campaign to bring Whataburger here. Let's change that and take a native Georgian who grew up eating at The Varsity, who then moved to Texas, went YEARS without that nostalgic taste and the memories associated with it. Then, let's say someone decides to open a Varsity franchise in Houston Metro AND COMPLETELY DISGRACE THE MEMORIES OF YOUR CHILDHOOD. That's pretty much what the Dawsonville location has done all three times we've eaten there. I can only assume that they just don't care. It's not only that all three times the food has been old and cold... it's not only that the first time I ordered there for a pickup, and they let me sit for 30 minutes before handing my mysteriously lost order, with no offer to remake the old, cold, stale food... it's also that consistently all three times, the orders have been horribly wrong. As you can see from the picture, I ordered two double whataburgers, both with bacon, one with jalapeno, one without, and both with letttuce, tomato, onion, pickles and mustard, even though you can't see that part. We paid for the up charges. Total was $51 and some change. Pretty sure what I ended up with was not $51 worth. What I got, was three burgers... only one with bacon, all three with only ketchup. The handy thing about Uber Eats is that you can watch in real time where your delivery person is. Poor dude sat at that location for almost half an hour. Maybe he had dinner while he was there, I don't mind. But I'm 100 percent positive that he did not assemble or pack the order. So clearly he was not the issue. So not only did they get the order horribly wrong, but they made a guy who depends on tips, wait. Yes, we still tipped because we knew it wasn't his fault. And I know Dawsonville isn't a hub of activity at midnight on a Thursday morning, so I'm pretty positive they weren't just swamped, which was the excuse I got the first time my order was left sitting and also incorrect. At this point, I'd rather see that location shut down than allow them to further disgrace an iconic Texas institution. We won't be going back and I'll be sure to share my review on that location.

Some of them are harder than others to drive to from 400 depending on your direction. Lucky for me today I was headed north so Freddy's was an easy stop off. I went inside rather then drive thru because I needed to use the restroom. The restroom was tidy and clean. The restaurant is decorated with photos and such from the history of Freddy's these were interesting to look at while waiting for my food. I walked up to the counter to order, the person was nice and helpful explaining menu items. There are way more things on the menu than I was ready to try today. I went for the regular cheese burger meal. The burger was two crispy thin patties, two slices of cheese, pickles, onions, mustard. It was pretty good but salty. Fries were the delicious thin kind but could have been more crispy. It is the serene your own beverage station with diet Dr Pepper so that's great! The catsup pump was empty so the counter guy gave me some to go catsup packs. I decided to eat in my car because wanted to get going quickly. Overall it was a good experience and I will try again.

So we selected one of the remaining options. The food came out quickly. He took a bite and was immediately impressed. I noticed that my burger was wrong and had to take it back to be redone. They were apologetic about the mistake and worked quickly to fix it. Once I got the correct burger, I was able to finally get a taste. It was really good. Compared to other burger spots around, this is right near the top. I like that they have tater tots as an option instead of fries. They were perfect. The portion was great for lunch. I didn't have room for any of the dessert, but he did and said his sundae was great!

I was picking up dinner for my dad, who is bedbound and relies on me for care. He's always loved this location, especially for the milkshakes and his favorite corned beef Reuben sandwich, so even though it's a 25-minute drive from my house, I wanted to bring him something special. From the start, things just felt off? The person taking orders at the drive-thru sounded like she did *not* want to be there. She quickly rushed me through my order, and barely let me finish before cutting me off! When I finally got the food, it was cold and they forgot both a cookie and some chicken tenders. I know mistakes happen, so I called the restaurant to let them know what happened and hopefully get it sorted out. The manager's response honestly shocked me. Instead of trying to help, he asked me if there was "actually something he could help me with," after I explained the situation! Unreal.. It felt like he just wanted me off the phone. When I asked if I could be reimbursed for the missing items and cold food, he didn't offer any solution other than "so is there actually something I can help you with"!! I couldn't believe my ears. Then, when I asked for his name, he hung up on me. When I tried calling back, he refused to take my call. I even tried calling the customer service line, hoping they would rectify the situation ... Unfortunately, I wasn't reimbursed for anything. They said they'd send me a free sandwich card, which apparently takes 4 to 8 weeks to arrive. That just doesn't feel like much of a resolution, especially when all I wanted was a hot meal and a little kindness for my dad. I get that people have rough days and mistakes happen--I really do. But the way this was handled was just unacceptable. I've always appreciated this Arby's for making my dad happy, but after this experience, I honestly don't know if I'll be coming back. I hope management takes this seriously and retrains the staff, because no customer--especially someone just trying to bring a little joy to a loved one--should be treated this way.
