Nov, 2025. My husband really likes the variety of foods on buffets so, when we passed by Lin's Grand Buffet during a recent trip to Phoenix, I knew that we would be going there for lunch. (Looking on-line, Lin's Grand Buffet appears have multiple restaurants in the Phoenix area; we visited the location on E Baseline Rd). This is a gigantic buffet, both in terms of the quantity and variety of food. In addition to rows and rows of entrees, noodles/rice, soups, salads, desserts, etc., there's also a Mongolian BBQ station and a counter with sushi. There was even a tray with enchiladas! My husband and I agreed that Lin's had some of the best tasting Chinese buffet food that we've ever had. Plus, given the large number of patrons, the food was hot and trays were replenished regularly. I particularly liked the pork dumplings (with a hint of fresh ginger), pepper shrimp, and breaded and fried zucchini (just like mom used to make!). My husband's favorites were beef and broccoli, cream cheese rangoons, and apple pie topped with vanilla ice cream. Unfortunately, the Mongolian BBQ was a fail for me. I filled my plate with a great variety of vegetables (bean sprouts, zucchini, cabbage, peppers, onions, garlic, etc.), noodles, and some chicken and beef, and then turned it over to the chef at the grill. When I picked it up a few minutes later, my fresh stir-fry was close to black in color because the chef had added a huge amount of soya sauce during the grilling process. I've been to other Mongolian BBQ restaurants that allow you to add your own sauces to your bowl before giving it to the grill chef; that would've been preferable in this case. I don't believe in wasting food -- but the only way that I was able to eat this was by adding more noodles to lessen the per-bite overbearing salty taste. Service was excellent. Our waitress was attentive, even refilling our ice waters before we asked, and efficiently taking away used plates. The restaurant was tastefully decorated and clean. The parking was free and plentiful. The value of the lunch buffet is excellent -- $14.99/adult before taxes and tip. Seniors aged 62 and above also get a 10% discount. read more

Went to lunch at Lin's Grand Buffet South Mountain, a buffet chain with over 15 locations across Arizona, Texas, and California. It is known for its wide variety of food options, including a sushi bar, a Mongolian grill, and classic Chinese dishes. I really go to Chinese buffets for the seafood, and Lin's has a very nice selection and a great sushi station. I found everything to be super fresh and appealing. They also have a shrimp boil available, which I really enjoy, as well as many of the classic Chinese dishes most people look for. It was really amazing. Beautifully decorated very helpful where the staff. The salmon was out of this world. I also had some of the bake seafood casserole. That was very delicious. I had some of the mushrooms and the fried shrimp that was very good. one of the ladies got some kind of chicken or something and she said it was really spicy but she ate it. She said it tasted so good. We really enjoyed ourselves. The ice cream machine was broke. All you could get was chocolate that it was delicious. I also got a cream puff. I don't know if anyone else in the group got dessert. read more

Lin's is a Chinese Buffet...if you've been to a Chinese Buffet before you more or less know what to expect. With that said, they quite busy even on weekdays, so the food definitely is not sitting around on the steam table for too long. Service is fine for a Chinese buffet. they are very attentive in getting your drinks to you and the refills are automatic. Food-wise things are decent, it's not too greasy although they are heavy on sodium and MSG. There's plenty of seating here as it's a massive restaurant. Overall, this is one of the better Chinese Buffets around. Not the healthiest to eat often, but something to be enjoyed once in a long while. read more

We came here as a party of 13, but with only 12 eating, with me being the 1 not to eat. We mistakenly paid for 13 meals and let the server know before I even got settled in that we needed to amend the bill to 12 and they said ok it'll be handled after the group was done dining. I sat through the whole meal, never so much as an empty plate in front of me, ordered a single Dr Pepper, and watched everyone else eat. I have severe Celiac Disease so it's very dangerous for me to eat out, so I just go with the family and enjoy the social aspect while everyone else eats. Then comes time for us to wrap up and fix the bill, and our server says that she saw me eat so they can't refund the 13th meal. We all informed her that I never once even touched a piece of food, and that I can't even eat here due to my disease. The server doubled down and said she didn't "not see me eat," she's "not a doctor" and she "couldn't confirm that she saw anyone eat" and then the other woman that was there explaining they couldn't refund said "if she has a disability why did you bring her? if she can't eat here then why did you even bring her? Why did she come?" I'm fucking sorry? I'm not allowed to join my family for dinner because I have a disease? Who the hell are you to say I shouldn't come to dinner because I can't eat. Way to discriminate against disabilities, and 10/10 way to catch a lawsuit. Those two women should be fired. We were in plain view of the security cameras, I didn't eat, everyone saw, and the two bitches that said I shouldn't come to dinner with my family need to be checked. Why the hell would we try to scam a free meal if we're already paying for 12? A 13th breaks the bank and we need to lie about me? Jesus Christ. I'm beyond pissed and we won't be returning, the food wasn't good either according to those that actually did eat. read more

Our family made a special trip out to Lin's Grand Buffet on a Wednesday night, and while the restaurant was busy, there was plenty of seating available. The menu offers a wide variety of Chinese dishes and some seafood, though the sushi was fairly basic and the dessert station consisted mostly of thawed frozen items and canned fruits. They do have a Mongolian grill and a steak station, but since both were manned by a single chef, the wait for a made-to-order steak was quite long and ultimately not worth the delay. While the pricing is fair for an "all you can eat" experience, the restrooms were in need of a deep cleaning and a serious upgrade. Overall, it's a decent, basic Chinese buffet if you are already in the neighborhood, but I wouldn't recommend driving out of your way for it when compared to other AYCE options. read more

We came in yesterday with my Grammy visiting from out of town. We can in at lunch for a party of 5 it cost around $87 and we left a cash tip. We were treated right away and sat very quickly. Tho it wasn't too busy, the food was nice, hot, and fresh like every time we come in. This is by far the best buffet we have been to in the area hands down. The restaurant and service line is always clean and well kept. I still love above the buffet area the decor they have up there is a neat touch to the place. a couple of weeks ago, my nephew and I decided to give this place another try. For the price, it's a good deal, but the food selection is somewhat limited. The steaks were really good--I got mine well done. My nephew enjoyed the noodles, ice cream, and cream puffs like before. The sushi, however, was still very dry, with the rice and seaweed being sticky and lacking freshness. Meat options were a bit limited, and some items, like the seafood and chicken bites, could use better preparation and heating. The ribs also didn't have much meat on them, making them not really worth grabbing. On the positive side, the wait time was short despite a decent number of people ahead of us. The staff was friendly and quick with refilling water. The restaurant itself was clean, but the bathrooms definitely need attention--there's a lot of graffiti and general messiness. A remodel would go a long way in improving the experience. Overall, it's an okay spot for the price, but some aspects, like food quality and restroom upkeep, could be improved. read more

I'll start off by saying I'm really not a big fan of Chinese buffets but Lins is the exception. I feel like the far majority of their options are super fresh and they are constantly re stocking because they are always super busy here. My absolute favs are the teriyaki chicken, jalepeno chicken, Kung pao, and the Mongolian grill station. These dishes are are hot and fresh and a lot of the chicken is actually crispy and flavorful. Don't sleep on the Mongolian grill station. They cook things up super nice and they got the steak nice and crispy from the grill. Price is great too. I had seen this place all over tik tok so I wanted to try it out. Let me say it is not the hype at all. People said there was a variety between asian, American and Mexican cuisine. The "Mexican" station consisted of only 1 dish- enchiladas. American there was only pizza, fries and chicken nuggets. The sushi station looked sad and disgusting and like the food had been sitting out for hours. On top of that, our server was a Latina woman. She came over to take our drink order and immediately started to speak Spanish. I said "I'm sorry what are you asking for, drinks? I don't speak Spanish." She just nodded and got the drinks. Later she came back and proceeded to try and speak Spanish to us again. So Janna and I came here for the first time at 7pm on a Friday night, they were so busy. I couldn't believe how long the line was, we were a party of 2 and the hostess to us to stay close by, we waited maybe 3 mins to be seated. The Choices, wow just wow, they had so many choices. I made the mistake of filling up my plate as I went. My plate was pretty full before I made it half way through their selections. I didn't even see the back row that had a sushi bar, steak bar, and a Mongolian Grill Bar before we were leaving. This place was craziness, the waitress/waiters that we had were exceptional, they must have had 20 tables and they stayed in top of everything. Lina grand buffet is generic Chinese food at best. Everything tastes the same no matter what the dish. The same sauce goes on ever thing they serve. Went once or twice and switched to pacific seafood buffet at Arizona ave or bell rd which are 100% better food hands down ever visit. Lind grand buffet is some of the worst Chinese food you will find in Arizona. Cooks can't cook chefs can't chef food every dish made to taste the same. Don't waste your hard earned money. As far as buffers go, this is the worst one I've ever been to, and I've been to a loooooot of buffets all over the country. The food is just awful. Very low quality. You get what you pay for, and $17 per diner is nothing considering how expensive food has become. If you're looking to fill your belly with decent food, skip this establishment. All the food offerings consist of American food: fried everything. Ten different iterations of the same Americanized sweet/sour/salty/spicy sauce. Zero variety. Zero seafood. So much batter and dough and carbs and cheap filler. Very little protein. Or quality food of any sort, that isn't deep fried. Honestly, not that bad for a buffet. The food was all right, but the dessert were definitely better! Really thinking about it, buffets aren't really that sanitary overall so you get what you get! It just grossed me out knowing that people touch those tongs and then you don't have time to wash your hands every time when you need to eat your spring roll lol. I ate there yesterday, (Sat 11/1/25), and found a roach in my noodles. It was so disgusting I almost choked on my food. An older Asian woman at the front said "oh probably because we had an infestation problem and they had to spray", as if that explanation was suppose to make me feel better. The manager Robert was extremely rude about it. He acted as if he were annoyed with me for finding the roach, and when I took my phone to try to take a picture he literally snatched my plate up and ran with it. I went after him and he ran the plate to the back and said "sorry I threw it away already." Way to stand behind what you are serving people. I was with three other people who were disgusted and no longer wanted to eat their food. Shockingly Robert refused to refund the table. He said he would only refund my plate, even though no one wanted to eat their food anymore. Robert could have handled the situation much better considering the circumstances. Robert had the power to somewhat make it right but flat out refused and was rude. The people you have representing your business plays a crucial role in its success. Roberts lack of empathy and his unprofessionalism do not make him a good candidate to represent such a large establishment. Chinese food use to be one of my favorite types of food to eat, but now the thought of it disgusts me. This restaurant has ruined my love for Chinese food all together. Came here about two weeks ago, three adults and two kids. my little sisters are a bit tall but they qualify as kids as it's 10 and under, and we told the lady that. she refused to serve them as kids and insisted that they must be charged as adults and we asked twice to which her reply is "we have to charge all adults at dinner" to which i pointed to the sign and told her the dinner kids and she said my sisters looked to be 16, and laughed at my shock to that. She then refused to refund my girlfriend because she didn't think my sisters were kids. Just because my sisters aren't twigs doesn't mean they aren't kids. Incredibly rude service as well. The experience here was exceptional! We were seated within minutes. The server took our drink as soon as we were seated. She gave great recommendations. I went straight to the Mongolian BBQ. Great! We were eating the rice and a big ball of hair came out the food . We showed it to the server they took the hair and threw it away and didn't do anything about it . They just told us if we wanted the refund or if we wanted to leave . They were very rude about it . If you plan to eat alone, don't go here unless you want to be treated like a pariah. I've been to Lin's on numerous occasions. The food can be hit or miss, but for the decent price, I can usually find something. Here's the issue on today's visit. I have had a long week, and I was starving. No one else was hungry at 5:00pm, so I decided to treat just myself. They seat me upstairs in a section that appears to be closed, as far away from everyone else as possible. I'm thinking, oh I guess they are opening this section with dinner starting. Time goes by, no one else gets seated there. It's just me and the servers slamming dishes in the kitchen across from me. I took myself out as a treat. To be around people and maybe get a hello or two. Instead they isolated me and acted like there was something wrong with eating alone. Shame on you!!! read more

This place has such potential. Too bad the air conditioning doesn't work very well and good luck getting a refill on your drinks. The servers don't come around and ask if you need more drinks, you literally need to wave your arms to try to get their attention. The service is awful but the food is very good. Lots of different varieties of chicken and different Chinese dishes. My kids also liked the chicken nuggets and French fries.
