    The big buffet
    Teresa B.

If you're craving some Chinese fare but the kids are begging for pizza and chicken tenders, the Lin's International Buffet is the place to go. This extensive buffet checks all the boxes for Asian and American comfort food. The food is fresh, including the fish and sushi and the restaurant is clean overall. On our visit we checked in and pre-paid at the front desk. I'm nice paid we were seated and the wait staff stopped by our table to get our drink orders. We had hot tea and water. I had a sampling of egg drop soup, beef broccoli, egg roll, cheese wonton, triple delight, jalapeño chicken, pepper steak, fried rice, and a bbq rib. The soup was excellent and of the Chinese dishes I enjoyed the jalapeño chicken and pepper steak the best. Overall it was a good experience. It wasn't the best Chinese food in town but it was good for a buffet and easy on the pocket book. When we arrived around 6pm on a Friday night it wasn't too busy but by the time we finished up the place was packed. So go early if you can.

The teriyaki chicken and bourbon chicken were good

Stopped by today for lunch. Three is appropriate. Not good but not bad. The fried fish was surprisingly good. The bourbon and teriyaki chicken were above average. The one thing that bothered us was the fried rice. It was not very good. It was bland, and not what you would expect from a Chinese buffet. It's hard to mess that up. The ribs were not that great either. We would probably not come here again because of the price. If it was cheaper we would.

I like the huge variety of foods to choose from! I personally love the brisket, sausage, sweet and sour chicken, and beef and broccoli! Service is always very good and this place is always packed! We love that they offer military discount too! This is our 3rd time here and enjoy it! The apple pie cobbler was delicious with the ice cream!

We've only been here a handful of times, but it is one of our favorites, especially when we want Chinese food. The price isn't bad when you consider the variety of food available. Since it's a buffet, you pay ahead of time so my only complaint about this place is that when you pay with card, you have to tip before you've even been seated. We've never had an issue with service, but as a couple who have both worked in the service industry, we like to tip extra for the servers who are attentive and friendly. The food assortment is incredible- I've never been to such a diverse buffet where all the food is good. Usually a few of the dishes are lackluster, but not here! Their sushi assortment is huge and really delicious, and there is a huge selection of Chinese food including 3-4 types of soups, cream cheese rangoons (SO GOOD!), egg rolls, fried rice, lo mein, rice noodles, various types of chicken dishes, a couple beef dishes, and a few seafood dishes. They also offer seafood, steak, pho, pizza, and salads. Their dessert bar is extensive and includes jello, pudding, assorted bars/ cakes, cheesecake, and ice cream- though we never have room for dessert!

Kin's Buffet is very clean and updated. They offer hand sanitizer but I wish they also had plastic gloves for people using the buffet. The food seems to be decent quality but for me personally has no flavor. Everything tastes exactly the same ....bland. I even tried spicy General Tso chicken to see if it had a kick. It did not. I did not try the hibachi. Perhaps you can request more seasoning on the prepared to order items. However at nearly $40 with tip for two dinner buffets it was extremely unsatisfying. My teen loves buffets so I was glad it was clean and staff was friendly, but I cannot recommend.

A big variety of food. Desserts, vegetables, fruit, seafood, Chinese food, chicken, salads, it's a buffet. Staff is busy cleaning up and serving drinks.

I did a weekend lunch outing after my workout. The buffet was nice, clean and not crowded (12:15pm). I was seated immediately after I paid. No wait. Price was reasonable. I will admit the Food was not bad. The pans were never empty & food was hot & fresh. I only ate food I recognized. I did however tried kimchi for the first time because I love cabbage. Ehhh, however didn't like kimchi. Sushi section had a huge variety if you like sushi. Well stocked & impressive. The staff were friendly and would refill your drink & remove plates from table as you head for 2nd & 3rds! I need to find out what day they have crab legs. It will be then that I return.

After Tuesday visit, the rating remains on 5, but only because we had an amazing time on Sunday. Maybe on Tuesday there was a different chef, but food just didn't taste the same, and a few Sunday dishes we asked for on Tuesday (standard menu) were sold out. Both times I had rice lager specially brewed for the restaurant, and it was delicious. An absolute highlight on Sunday was the dish called Hand of God - the smoky wagyu on top of the rice cake was just an absolute perfection, not anything I had before (this dish was not available on Tuesday). We also had similarly smoky vegetable roll which was also experience in itself. This was my first time at the sushi restaurant where waiter suggested that the nigiri pieces are perfectly ready to eat, require no extra soy sauce or wasabi, and should be picked up by hand instead of chopsticks - another wonderful experience. I also had few different nigiri piece, two different types of mackerel and uni - an absolute wow (on Sunday). Service was good both days, but still a little bit better on Sunday (better recommendations). Definitely recommended.

Fortunately, the atmosphere was enhanced by the Spurs game, which was entertaining despite the disappointing outcome. The service was attentive, professional, and contributed positively to the overall experience. Would I return? Quite possibly - particularly with a companion whose company better complements the quality of the venue.

We didn't realize this place was a cousin of Shiro and owned by the same guy until we saw some similarities in their style, layout and menu but nevertheless, the food was still absolutely amazing. Even though the ambiance had some similarities, I'm glad their food options were distinguished because otherwise could have just gone downtown. You cannot go wrong with any of their food options. Highly recommend doing family style so you can get a taste of everything and all the different flavors. We started with the gyoza and calamari which were to die for and were not greasy at all. Pork ssam, wagyu, miso pasta and octopus all brought a little bit of their own element and flare to your palate that it's hard to describe unless you try it. Wagyu was just melt in your mouth delicious. Pork ssam and octopus had their crunchy texture and umami flavors. The miso pasta added a light refreshing touch to balance everything out but don't let it fool ya, the noodles will expand in your stomach. We topped it off with their yuzu cake. Our only disappointment was they were out of their other desserts but nevertheless everyone of us left full and happy. Would come here again.

When I first read about Yozora, I honestly thought it sounded a bit pretentious. Fascinating, but…read morepretentious. Because the idea of music being an actual integral part of the dining experience--not just some kind of background noise--felt a little precious for my taste. I'm glad to admit I was wrong. So let's start with the ambiance and the vibe of Yozora. It's in a fairly non-descript kind of center; not bad but not specially memorable. But the space itself is open and has an air of restrained sophistication. And then there's that hi-fi set up. The music at Yozora really is part of the experience, but it's not intrusive in the way that you'd think. Most of what my dining companion and I heard was 50s and 60s jazz, and it was perfect for the occasion. Sushi and Coltrane are a great mix, and even though we were not far from the hi-fi system, I could hear every word of our conversation, without the need for either of us to raise a voice. Somehow, it's like the music operates on a different frequency from regular table chatter. Suffice to say, the music enhanced the mood and really set a scene for Yozora's chefs to tell some stories. And that, they do really well. We started out with seasonal tempura and miso masu ceviche--ocean trout marinated in miso, soy, and lime juice--that was sublime. But funnily enough, the real star small plate was a truffle creamy miso soup that was earthy and slightly sweet at the same time and was silky in texture. From there, we ordered a series of crudo and battera, each unique in its own way. It was wonderful stuff, accompanied by a rice lager. The kitchen at Yozora is not shy about experimenting with non-traditional flavors and ingredients. Sometimes it works really well; sometimes, not as well, but it's never bad, and the servers actually ask for feedback for the kitchen, which is something I rarely see. Yozora honestly seems to be most concerned with creating a great dining experience, and it does that, from the chefs to the line cooks to the servers (who are helpful and attentive without hovering). The music, the mood, and the menu add up to a memorable experience.
