I really didn't want to write this because I believe in supporting small businesses, but this was the worst moving experience I've had. The truck was scheduled for 9:30am and didn't arrive until 10:30am. I was understanding about the delay, but the mover who arrived at 9:30 essentially stood around since nothing could be moved without the truck. Per the contract, time was supposed to start when the truck arrived -- yet I was only credited 30 minutes. Loading what should have been a simple 2-hour move took 3.5 hours. One mover even suggested I move my own bed because "they tend to break." Unloading took another 3.5 hours. They also took a ~40 minute break and told me it wouldn't be on the clock -- but I was charged for it. During the move: * A footprint was left on my couch * Boxes labeled by room were put in the wrong places * Walls were scraped * A piece of my bedroom doorframe was knocked off Now, three weeks later, both beds are broken. My office chair is broken. My desk is missing a critical screw. I don't mind paying for convenience. I do mind paying for carelessness. Unfortunately, this move has cost me far more than what I paid them. I can't recommend this company. The two star is for Derall who came back to fix the door frame the best he could. I strongly advise against using this company. I booked three movers; only two arrived, one of whom was visibly intoxicated. This individual escalated a physical confrontation with my property management (including spitting and pushing), resulting in a police report and potential criminal charges. Management was completely reactive. I had to initiate all contact regarding the incident. They failed to provide a replacement worker and offered no meaningful billing adjustment for the hours lost to the police investigation and the missing third mover. To make matters worse, at the end of the day, a mover dropped my wrapped 65" TV directly onto the concrete while improperly balancing a cart on the ramp. Despite "Amber" being my point of contact throughout the booking, she was nowhere to be found when these crises occurred. I paid $1,035 for a dangerous, unprofessional, and costly experience. Save your money and your sanity--go elsewhere. Also, management: don't try to reply to this like you actually care for the sake of future suckers. Amber Valentine was my contact and I kept in touch with her regarding estimated dates. Ray came the month before to look at what we needed moved. There were some changes before the actual move and not only were they responsive, they were also flexible with any changes. Our contract had three movers come on the day of. Ray and his San Diego team, Kevin and Jacori arrived that morning and went straight to work. They were quickly and efficiently first loading up boxes (we took care of the box packing ourselves) and then working on protecting and loading bigger items and furniture. Throughout the entire load-in, Ray and his team were communicative and they took great care of fragile items when asked. At one point, we had needed more blankets for our unusual sized pieces and Ray was quick to provide extra. We filled up an entire 26' truck and Lion Pride loaded it in their unique tetris style. When we got to Long Beach, Ray and his Long Beach team, Hakan and Jonathan were super quick with the load-out. Again it was the same communication, everyone asking where items would be deposited and efficient and careful work. It went quicker than even Ray expected. As I write this, my husband is saying to make sure I give a good review because Lion Pride did very good work. Not only did Lion Pride assist with the move, they also came back the same week to help with junk removal. Again, Amber helped arrange the pickup. This time it was Gilbert and Jesse. Just like the other members of Ray's team, they were super quick and worked cheerfully loading up what we needed removed. What I also appreciated about Lion Pride is that because they were also from the neighbourhood, they gave a competitive rate both for the move and the junk removal. On both occasions, they worked with our needs and were flexible. Top marks for professionalism, and making the move seamless and trouble-free.
