Every visit to Liquid Assets is unique and enjoyable. From a quick stop at the end of the evening for desserts & a nightcap, to a complete dining experience, we love this popular spot in OCMD. Our favorite drink to enjoy is the Wide Awake espresso martini. Our server, Emma provided excellent service last night for our girls night out. We were surprised to learn it was her first night serving and she was fantastic. Very personable and easy going. We started our meal with several apps: Tuna Crisps, Baked Mussels, Fresh Bread, Caesar Salad and Baked Mushrooms. For our main entrees, we enjoyed Pan Seared Monkfish, Pan Seared Jumbo Shrimp Risotto and I had the Angus Short Rib French Onion Pot Pie. Each dish was loaded with flavor and artfully presented. The only minor issue is that when the entrees came, they were not all delivered together and everyone waited an extra 5 minutes to begin eating because the Short Rib was delayed in getting to the table. This is a restaurant hidden within a wine and spirits store. The lights are dim, the atmosphere is jovial and the place is crowded by 5:15 pm. Our server was gracious and attentive. This place lived up to the hype. I will be back for dinner (and dessert) but we stopped by for my mom's birthday lunch. I enjoyed the bread appetizer with the sundried tomato butter, chicken and dumplings, and kale salad (bacon - yum!) We chose to dine here on our last night in OCMD. The place has a great atmosphere with a fun concept, and we were excited to try it. While there wasn't a children's menu, the manager was very attentive and informed us of the options available for kids, so we were ready to proceed. Unfortunately, our experience was far from pleasant. Our waiter took over 30 minutes to take our drink orders and seemed to ignore our table, even as he engaged warmly with others. My husband eventually had to ask if we could place our order. The waiter didn't seem to acknowledge the lengthy wait, but we assumed it was a simple mistake. Until he continued to ignore our table. Repeatedly. It took an unusually long time to receive our appetizers and entrees (about another 40 min+) When my son's meal finally arrived, it was the wrong dish--a deluxe grilled cheese instead of the kid's version he ordered, which added another 15-minute wait to correct. We were almost charged for the incorrect item as well. Some of the food was good. The baked oysters were yummy and the calamari was very different but refreshing and had a nice kick, but our burgers were not served hot, and the fries were slightly undercooked. The Korean Ribs, which were bursting with flavor and cooked to perfection (crispy on the outside but melt in your mouth on the inside), were the star of the show for me. But the Oysters Rockefeller were also delicious. For mains, we had the Wagyu Steak, which was fork-tender, salted just right, and accompanied by blistered shishito peppers and onions with fingerling potatoes, and Grilled Shrimp (XXL) over mushroom risotto with shaved parmesan. Was meeting another couple at Liquid Assets for dinner. They don't take reservations so we got there right at 5pm. We were quickly seated. I asked for a gluten free menu but they didn't have one. The server went over the menu and basically there were 2 dishes I could get. A steak or a chicken meal. Maybe she said the salads were gluten free but I was tired of eating salads. I ordered the smoked flourless fried chicken ( house smoked flourless chicken ) mashed potatoes and squash and zucchini. $30. It did take awhile for our food to come out. I would have ordered an appetizer but the server said there wasn't any gluten free options. We decided against the charcuterie board since we weren't sure of the ingredients. The portions were very large. I got two pieces of chicken with my meal. The smaller piece was dry but the larger piece was cooked to perfection. My mashed potatoes were a little dry but had good flavor. The vegetables tasted fresh but had a lot of butter or oil in them. This restaurant would probably be a good place for wine lovers and drinkers. Our party did order drinks and seemed happy with their choices. Wow wow wow. Definitely the best restaurant I've visited in Ocean City. This new American menu was everything we wanted in a more elevated comfort food night out. We started with the Wagyu Meatballs and the Teriyaki Ribs (which aren't on the menu on the moment ). Both were delicious. I was sad the meatballs were only 3, definitely not enough to really share but were a damn good meatball. The house made ricotta on it made the dish! The ribs were out of this world good! Sweet and spicy, had a very developed taste that to this day I remember. The meat fell off the bone it was so good!! For our mains, we got some specials. A half a chicken platter, pulled pork and a wagyu burger. The chicken was a huge meal, definitely enough for two. The burger was okay, it didn't have anything fun on it. Just cheese, would have thought it would have had some extra fun stuff on it but it was tasty. The pulled pork was my personal favorite thing I ate. The sauce was tangy with a kick. The coleslaw was so fresh and crunchy. The fries were just meh but I didn't really need them, maybe ask for something else, they were so big that they didn't fry all the way through but overall the meal was delicious. read more

Went to Liquid Assets tonight after getting into town based on a recommendation for a friend. We arrived and there was a 45 minute wait, not unexpected for a Friday Night in the summer in OC. Our table was ready in about 40 minutes. We were greeted quickly with waters and menus by our server Cindy. After perusing the menu we opted to share a couple of items. We ordered a couple items not had before including Deckle of Mishima wagyu ribeye, cauliflower with lemon and capers, and the shrimp risotto, the food did take a bit to arrive, again, it was busy so to be expected. Once the food arrived, it was worth the wait!!! The cauliflower was so delicious and the fried capers were such a fun addition to the flavor profile...I will definitely be trying to recreate it when I get home next week! The Deckle, well that was amazing, the beef was so tender it was easily cut with a butter knife and melted in your mouth. Could have ordered a second round...we had to save our last bite for the end of the meal just to savor it as the last morsel of yummy! The shrimp risotto was rich and creamy, very filling even split between two, the shrimp seared perfectly. Located in a not so busy business plaza with plenty of parking available, Liquid Assets at first looks like just like a fancier liquor store. But it also has a bar and seating for an intimate sit down experience. We honestly primarily checked it out for the dessert (donut ice cream sandwich) but decided to also get lunch. Their dining menu offers a variety of options including cheese plates, salads, appetizers, lunch combos, etc. We got the vegan crab cakes - 2 medium sized with remoulade and a side of roasted watermelon, red onions, and tomatoes, as well as the vegan cacio e pepe pasta - spinach bucatini with cashew garlic sauce, topped with vegan Mozarella and kale crisps. Both were delicious but I think the pasta won the spotlight for me. To finish off we had to get the donut ice cream sandwich - and let me tell you it was an experience I'd never forget lol. It comes with 2 warm, crispy sugar donuts and a generous scoop or two of "Chesapeake Bay Farms God Bless the Queen" - a salty caramel/toffee ice cream. First the good - the cheese and charcuterie board is AMAZING. No other restaurant comes close. The fried green tomatoes were very yummy. My mocktail yuzu was delicious. And of course no one does desserts as good as Liquid Assets. The donuts are scrumptious. The crab cakes should NOT be on the menu. The chef at Liquid Assets should go to Captain's Galley and try REAL crab cakes - the best in Maryland. If you can't make crab cakes with CRAB in them - don't make crab cakes. Shredded pieces of crab with 50% filler are not Maryland crab cakes. The French fries were cold like our entrees sat on the line for a while. if the crab cakes had been decent and our food was hot I would have given Liquid Assets 5 stars. it's so disappointing to pay hundreds of dollars for a dinner for 4 people and have mediocre crab cakes and cold fries. read more

The decor is super charming and a total vibe, but it double as a liquor store as well. So, you may be dining while there are patrons browsing for their purchase right next to you. Not off putting, but interesting. However, I will say it's a little tight, space-wise. The service we experienced was good. Our server was very attentive and friendly. Nothing more nothing less. Now let's get to the FOOD: overhyped, overpriced, and UNDER SEASONED! Here's what we got: - Crispy Korean Ribs: these were actually not bad, tender and flavorful, but nothing to write home about. - Crispy Chicken Wings (paprika): I like how these were cooked/fried, however they really lacked flavor. a little salt would have helped immensely. - Angus NY Strip: I got this cooked medium and it came to me slightly overcooked. I was still willing to give it a try and still, NO FLAVOR. I would never put A1 on a steak, but in that moment, I wish I had it to add some kind of flavor. The herb butter did not help either. This dish also came with potato croquettes which were also very bland! It's like no salt or seasoning was used. The seasonal vegetables I got with this dish were the most flavorful and best tasting thing on my plate. - LA Burger: my husband got this dish and so did my son. My husband enjoyed it and thought the mustard was a nice touch to the burger. My son's impression was that something was wrong with the meat (he's 11 so take it with a grain of salt). I tried the burger myself and thought it had a good flavor with the mustard and thought it was juicy. It tasted better with the mustard than without. Again, nothing to write home about but not bad. My husband and I also ordered drinks: Wild Fashioned and Sangria. Not bad; we both enjoyed our drinks. All in all, we were very disappointed with the food and lack of flavor. In a word: Yum. This is a gourmet restaurant masquerading as a liquor store. And they have an amazing wine and spirits/cocktail selection both on the menu and in the store. Upon arrival, they quoted us at a little over an hour wait, which was fine by us. We were seated at around the 45 minute mark. The food was amazing - I had the LA Burger topped with bacon (so much bacon!) with what must have been an entire potato of thick cut fries, while my wife had the vegan pasta appetizer (a la cacio e pepe) - which was the perfect amount for her. I also grabbed a Smith Island cake slice to go. We started with the delicious bread plate that our server - Bethany - helpfully pointed out had feta in the foccia bread (more for me!). And speaking of Bethany, she was awesome - checking on us at just the right times (not too frequent not too infrequent, if you know what I mean). Just delicious. Please come here. Or not. The BEST meal I've eaten in all of Ocean city! This place truly is a gem. Upon arriving we were greeted by a warm and friendly waitstaff. My husband ordered an espresso martini which he said was super delicious ( I'm pregnant and couldn't try ) but it did look amazing. For an app we got the buffalo wings. The sauce was tangy, the wings were crispy .. it hit all the marks. For our entree we both had to get the NY strip. It was the best piece of meat I think I've eaten in my entire life. It was cooked to perfection and was literally mouth watering. It came with amazingly seasoned asparagus and potato croquettes in a truffle cream sauce... just thinking about it makes me want to drive the 4 hours from NY back to OC.... It was that good!!!! We couldn't leave without dessert and our waitress (who was amazing) recommended the donuts. I still dream about these thing!! They are fried to order, light and crispy with a glaze on top. Vibe - country store ... with massive assortment of wine, craft beer and liquor for sale. Intimate seating throughout ... some sofa height, some larger tables and tons of 2tops. Food - while the prices seem high, they are super generous portions ... so order accordingly ... most apps are shareable for 2-4 ppl ... we got 3 to share and no meal, just so we had room for dessert ... still didn't have room for everything. We also ordered a couple of fresh raw oysters .. the best I've ever had. Drinks - huge selection of beer, wine and craft cocktails ... nice sized mixers, not heavy pours though. The menu was super creative, fun and portions were huge! Hard to eat everything without some bold sharing ... which is the only reason I took away a star ... personally I'd rather have some less expensive true small-plates ...and for the size and cost of the cocktails, I prefer a little heavier pour. First time in. Quick summary- seems like a perfect place if you want drinks and apps. The kung pao calamari is incredible. That being said, I got the lasagna which was very solid. My wife got the shrimp risotto and unfortunately that was not as good. Way too much cheese which made it gloopy and had a very aggressive garlic flavor. A family member told us to stop by on the way out of Ocean City to get dessert here and MAN, she was right. We got a ginger ale, bourbon ginger ale, doughnuts, and the smith island cake of the day (peanut butter chocolate). The doughnuts came with a sweet glaze on them and they were VERY good. I would recommend sharing the doughnuts as we couldn't finish them. They do say it's a coconut glaze but I didn't taste it (which was good because my hubby hates coconut lol). They tasted like they were made from croissant dough. So addictive. The smith island cake was perfection. A yellow cake and the filling was peanut butter chocolate spread. The cake was moist and not too sweet. Definitely would recommend. The alcoholic drink came in a tumbler and was just okay. The restaurant was more of a wine shop with a bar and a few tables, but it's definitely a vibe that we like. I'm gonna simply start here by saying Wow. Just wow. This was by far our favorite, best meal of the vacation trip to OCM. The vibe of a wine bar / cocktail lounge coupled with an actual liquor store to peruse before (and during) our meal mashed up with a gastropub type menu made for a very memorable meal experience. Our server was quite knowledgeable and help guide us through both the menu as well as drink choices to compliment the dishes we'd chosen. After placing our cocktail selections we settled into wait for the dishes to start appearing. The wild morel toast was outstanding made with homemade grilled sourdough bread as a base layered with lemon preserve, grilled morel mushrooms and topped with garlic and ground pecorino cheese...so earthy and hearty! The duck leg confit came smoked and served alongside a garlic aioli sauce that cut through the richness of the meat; it was served with sides of bok choy and shaved brussels sprouts in a tangy fish sauce. The portion of grilled asparagus we ordered could easily serve four people and were topped with a lemon garlic butter sauce. We kinda went smallish on main dishes because we'd heard about a dessert dish we just had to try! DO NOT SKIP their ice cream sandwich dessert...it came with two fresh cooked sugar and cinnamon covered donuts and in between a layer of "God Bless the Queen" ice cream all surrounded by a moat of Bourbon caramel sea salt sauce. Ho-Lee-Schnikees! This thing was made of unicorns and dreams and just blew us away. The flavor combo was just perfect. What a fun evening and an incredibly memorable meal. The service was AMAZING! The fries were unconventional but the table bread was a hit for the whole family. The jerk wings were a 10/10 and we should've just stopped there. The steak *needed* MORE FLAVOR! It was really hard to eat so we had to ask for salt and pepper, but the potatoes that came with it were cooked perfectly and full of flavor. We dined here for our anniversary on Friday night as this is usually one of our desired spots. I down ranked my consistent 5 stars as the food quality we are used to was not on par. After trying the French Onion Pot pie last review, I was elated to see it on the menu again a year later. I ordered expecting the same experience, but was disappointed at the quality of the short ribs. Just about every cube was 100% fat. You expect some fat segments with short ribs, but every piece? My husband dug in to try and he ended up spitting it out because the fat texture was very off-putting. Now, I will compliment the flavor of the dish was excellent and portion size was enough for a very hungry person or take half home. Also disappointing this time around was the lack of vegetables comparatively, mainly potatoes, very little brussel sprouts or carrots. My husband went off his usual picks and tried the fish and chips which were made with Haddock. After that, he's determined not a fan of Haddock nor did the beer batter help the dish. Even the restaurant smelled of fish that night which wasn't the pleasant aromas for dining. The fries and coleslaw that accompanied the fish were excellent. So, I would say this time the value was not satisfactory for the price. Dessert never fails with the donut ice cream sandwich!! Do NOT leave here without dessert and not just any dessert, do not skip ANY of the House made donuts, whether you share the sandwich or go for the trio!! LAST, BUT IMPORTANT NOTE: The MOST surprise was the check that notified of the NEW policy to add 3.5% for credit card use. I can understand that, but I couldn't believe my eyes. Be aware of this change, so you aren't shocked when paying. AND lastly, not that many would notice or maybe not care, but we SO appreciated the change to the utensils. The prior set were not weighted properly for easy holding or placing back on your plate without falling off.
