We've been to Liquid Assets many times, always enjoying the food and atmosphere, however this last visit was a big disappointment in many ways. First the positive Our service was good. Not great but solidly good. There were lots of choices on the menu. The bad- the food and the insane prices. We understand that things have gotten expensive, but this was way over the top. We had 4 people. One couple had a kielbasa appetizer, maybe 2 ounces total, a lamb burger ($29) that was dry and flavorless, the short rib pot pie (which was good but too much food mostly potatoes and $39) 2 cans of beer $8 each and a shared desert. The other couple had fried mushrooms, mussels (tiny and watery sauce) a brisket sandwich ( small and maybe $20) one can beer and half of a $18 bottle of wine to which a $10 charge was added along with a shared slice of dry stale smith island cake. We opted to pay cash to avoid the 3.5% credit card fee they tack on ( seriously?) and all on it was $145 per couple. Absolutely insane for a mediocre meal at best. We told the waitress the cake was stale, our friend ate only 1/3 of her mussels, there was no question on the reason the mussels went uneaten not a reply about the cake. The lamb burger was eaten because the guest had been fasting all day and was starved. We used to really enjoy this spot, but no more. When a tasting board with 2 cheeses and meats (tiny portions) is $38? What adding a protein to a basic salad adds up to $30....no thank you. We pass probably 30 restaurants driving from Lewes to Liquid Assets and next time will stop at one of them. We love the vibe, but not enough to justify the pricing. LA is off our list. read more

Bar, package store and amazing restaurant. Wasn't expecting gourmet flavors and unique foods. From the crispy Korean spare ribs to Marconi and guava almonds this place was a culinary experience. There was a 20 minute wait for dinner spent on a comfy couch. Staff touched base with us and the service was exceptional from the start. Ended with the donut/ice cream sandwich and was back 18 hours later for another meal. Lunch was full of locals, a lunch of the day special that was affordable, and charcuterie and cheese plates showing off top quality ingredients well planned. The cheese plate had cherries, raisins, pears and crisps. The prosciutto one had mustard that worked with or without the meat. This is a must experience place. read more

When I tell you that I travel here every summer to get their Wagyu Burger and Fresh Donuts...... This place is an absolute gem when it comes to fresh, decadent, stunning food. Their wagyu burger (I get it medium rare) melts in your mouth and is served with massive flavorful fries. The donuts?!!!! You cannot compare these things to anything in the US. It's crunchy on the outside/soft on the inside, almost like a funnel cake mixed with a fluffy croissant. Their donut flavor changes every day and I think my rating goes 1. peach 2.vanilla 3.coffee. Looking for dessert on a busy OC summer night. A scan of the net led me to Liquid Assets. A bar/liquor store/restaurant. It was crazy busy, but the manager after having heard we just wanted dessert asked if a small barrell spot would be ok. It was crazy charming! After 30 years, it felt like a fun date night so we said yes to the barrel . I ordered the bread pudding accompanied by a warm peach sauce and vanilla ice cream and hubby ordered the flourless chocolate brownie also served with vanilla ice cream. The bread pudding was different from most others I've had. No nuts, no raisins and no standard caramel or chocolate sauce. The base of it was ample in size, but it consisted of just bread. Just moist, luscious, sinfully butter-infused flavorful bread. It was warms and soft everywhere except for its perfectly crusted outter edges and was topped with just the right amount of that creamy peach sauce. Oh My Goodness!!!!! Are you feeling what I'm feeling yet? If not, just take my word for it and go experience it for yourself. You WILL NOT disappointed! I was so face forward in my dessert, I did not taste hubby's, but he assures me that it was equally delicious and to prove it, he ate it all and then helped me finish my ice cream as well!!!!! And speaking of the ice cream. It was soft, creamy and clearly made with real vanilla bean. You know I asked. Lol! They don't make it on sight, but it does come from a local creamery. Another favorite of mine, the seafood carbonara. I had it years ago. I keep coming back hoping to find it but haven't hit it yet. If you see it on the menu.....well, just trust me! Sister restaurant to Our Harvest, the food was just as good and carefully curated. The main dining room is causal and set in a liquor store with beer/wine/spirits all around. There is a separate dining room too and that's where we ended up sitting for a little more privacy. Portions are large, would def come back and try more of the menu. read more

Came in on a monday night at the end of beach season but it was very still very busy and lively! We started with the potato and parmesan croquettes . I thought the flavor and texture was quite good. But the inside was on the lukewarm side and I wish the sauce had more of a truffle flavor. Cornbread was warm and pretty big! The Caesar salad was good but nothing special. I wish it had a touch more dressing and it came chopped already. My bf had the poutine which he thought had a unique twist! Overall, I really loved the ambience and the service was good. From decor to food this place was amazing! From the outside it looked like just another restaurant in a strip mall but when you walk in the place was super cozy! There were bottles of wine lined along the walls for purchase as well as beers in the fridges etc. We were promptly seated at a table and uses our phones to look up the drink/food menu. I ordered the fried shrimp and grits and the flower child cocktail. The flower child cocktail was pretty good you could taste a bunch of gin which is always good! The fried shrimp and grits was pretty flavorful but wish I got more shrimp for the 25$ I paid for it. The star of the show was the ice cream sandwich I got which had two warm homemade donuts sandwich between this sweet vanilla ice cream. "Sipping on gin and juice"!!!!! The two bartenders were attentive, fun, had great recommendations. You absolutely must try the espresso martini! It was a whole other level of perfection!! The warm milk foam combined with the rich espresso taste of the martini is a delight for the senses. It is without doubt top tier! The bourbon list is impressive. Beautiful and interesting. Menu is very eclectic and differs from the norm. It is pricey but after the whole meal we didn't care. We started with the pumpkin soup and bruschetta Rockefeller or something like that. I did not like the soup at all-way too sweet. But hubby liked it. The bruschetta rockefeller was awesome! So tasty and we got 4 large pieces. Our server recommended the lamb burger so I got that and hubby got the regular burger. Delish!!! The lamb burger is very flavorful with a strong lamb taste. We were so full but had to order the donut ice cream sandwich. I took 2 bites and could not fit another bite. Delish!!!! Save room for it! This place is a keeper! read more

This place is fantastic! My husband took me here for my birthday while visiting Ocean City. The ambiance is real cozy and the cocktails are amazing. My husband had a dirty martini and I a cosmopolitan. They were both spot on. The food is also delicious. I had the spinach salad with shrimp and my husband had the Caesar with chicken. Both were very delicious. We had such a good time here that we returned two days later and had the same cocktails. They were again fantastic! Who pays almost $50.00 for a salad!! I ended up getting a chicken pasta dish & it was okay. After the 4th mouthful the taste started to grow on you. I enjoy sitting at the bar or in one of the big comfy couches around the room. Wide Awake & Flower Child are my go-to drinks. And you ALWAYS need to ask for their donuts of the day. No matter the flavor they are always amazing! Only downside is that the seating can be limited. Luckily they have barrels and stools around the room. Wish this place could be a bit bigger. read more

What a great way to spend Valentine's Day with my wife and daughter. The food was awesome, started with a cheese and meat charcuterie. Our entrees were the pork shank special and shrimp risotto, both were great and the risotto was cooked to perfection. I think the biggest joy of the night had to be the service though. In the mist of corona-craziness we're on spring break and need to eat. We looked up highly dated places in Fenwick and found them. They're a cute shop. Liquor store and restaurant. They were of course doing take out only during this time. The food was fantastic. We're glad they stayed open when a lot of other places decided to close or don't do lunch. The soup was even better heated up the day. They staff was very nice. My only note for improvement is to pack hot and cold food in different bags.
