Food was good, but...I had to ask for lemon in my water 3 times. Daughter had to repeat a request for her coffee to be served. We saw our food ready, but it sat for 5 minutes before it was brought to us. Gravy was already cold. Finally, when I added only a 10% tip because of the service, the owner (?) saw this and publically stated that the usual tip was 18-20%!!! Nearby customers heard this. Always a great Breakfast! Our current favorite place to go on the weekends. The last visit, this past weekend, I had the Eggs Benedict, and a side of bacon...both so so good... My girlfriend had an omelette that was cooked exactly as she ordered it. Seems like people are most picky about Breakfast foods.... if you are one of those people, this is a place for you. So good!! I had a delicious veggie omelet with what tasted like homemade wheat toast, and fantastic home fries. My boyfriend got the southern sausage gravy and biscuits and he was in heaven. I tried a bite and the biscuits were definitely fresh and the sausage gravy was the best I've ever had. It was a bit pricey, 60 dollar breakfast. Please do not make the mistake of coming to this place. The owner was every rude to us when we arrived. Trust, all the reviews that mention her bad attitude are true. This alone ruins your day. The wife and I have driven by this past many times over the years and we finally decided to go to dinner here. We called ahead for a reservation but that was not necessary since we were the only couple there for dinner. Now I know why. I had a lobster pasta dish that was decent but forgettable and Blondie wanted the petite tenderloin. She doesn't like blood on the plate with steak so she requested it to be on the well-done side of between medium-well and well-done. The steak arrived butterflied and was only a quarter inch thick and charred. Worst steak ever. We left soon as we could and we were still the only people in the restaurant. Dallas was my server and he was fantastic. Went absolutely above and beyond. I ordered the crab cake Benedict. Wow. Amazing. It's like they make their hollandaise from scratch. Discovered a gem this morning! Lisa's Cafe of Madiera Beach offers many delicious choices but I strongly recommend the Crab-cake Eggs Benedict for breakfast, YUM! When I went they had closed their patio down 1 hour and 15 minutes early sending us to dine inside. We were the only ones in the dining room. Service was average and mildy aggressive, but I am from an area where service isn't very nice. Not a big deal but the breakfast menu is limited and pricey. I settled for a breakfast sandwich after not finding anything desirable on the menu. It was the greasiest meal I have ever had. Nothing special about this places breakfast. The owner was very RUDE with zero communication skills. Her way or the highway. She would not listen to our request to split our party so we could be seated faster. She then gave another party of the same size the exact seating as we had requetsed however was denied. They had no wait and we had already waited 30 minutes. I have never been spoken to so rudely by anyone in the restaurant business as she spoke to me and I have been all over the globe. My family and I went elsewhere. Beware before you dine! They were the most unaccommodating restaurant I've ever been to. Wouldn't let a single simple change to omelette. Which only three omelette options were strange. My recommendation is to get the biscuits and gravy for breakfast and the espresso crusted steak for dinner. You won't be disappointed. I had the steak last night and didn't even need a knife. First of all, Lisa the owner, is a deal breaker. I not only expect good food, I expect the owner to at least pretend to be nice. While dining there, Lisa asked me to move my car because one of her customers (elderly) couldn't get into her car because my car was "blocking her". I felt terrible and went right away to check it out. When I got to the parking lot , I saw the problem was their 2 door older vehicle had very large doors and the door couldn't open wide enough to get her and her walker between both our cars, even though my car was parked perfectly between the lines. I was happy to move my car to accommodate them. When I returned to the restaurant Lisa asked if I moved my car. I said I did help them and attempted to explain the parking situation that I didn't actually "block" them in ...but she cut me off and started waving her hand in my face telling me she doesn't "want to hear it, and those people don't lie." I could not believe how insulting she was. I am a local and I now steer visitors away from that restaurant because no food is good enough for abusive treatment by an owner. This was a so so place to eat, but the way Lisa treats her employees is horrendous! Nobody should talk to anyone with that amount of disrespect. The prices on the menu are not reflective of the food and most importantly, her attitude. No employee should be treated the way she treats hers! WARNING! The owner is an absolute lunatic. Owner came out of the building and yelled at all of her patrons waiting to be seated, including children, saying she doesn't care if there's a mask mandate or not, you will put your mask on until your seated or leave now, saying I don't want your business. FYI, the mask mandate has recently been removed by our awesome and amazing Governor, Ron DeSantis. I'm not trying to be political, just letting you know this women was extremely rude, very hostile and more than half the people left (including me and my wife) when she went off on everybody in line. Great breakfast. Scratch-kitchen. All should be great? My only criticism, Lisa is a bit over eager. We were just shown our table and not even seated, but she already began rattling off suggestions for drink sharing what they are best at. A bit of a whirlwind, as it's first nice to be seated -- then hear this information. I was with a group who were deciding where to sit, noise from chairs scraping the pavers, only made the second server have to repeat it all again. Also they seemed a bit thrown off with the request for custom omelets - it became a math game - sharing what we would be charged additionally. I guess people really penny pinch, as it didn't matter to us the upcharge, we just wanted to enjoy our breakfast. Bottom line, food was as described (omelets were excellent). Lisa greets you at the door and is really friendly as she seats you and tells of the specials. (great accent too - Jersey?) My issue was slow service when there was only a couple other tables. The food was excellent but was barely warm by the time I got it. I used to be a server so I know that cold food is always the servers fault. The kitchen can't cook cold food.
