Lisa greeted us at the door as other reviewers said she does. The place is nicely decorated and laid out. Service was OK, a little attitude, but tolerable. The food was very good. I got the corn beef hash which is the best I've ever had. Lisa same over and asked how things were, I said portions were a little small where she responded I'd have to charge extra. She feels her portions are in-line with the quality and her costs, which I can't argue with. I'd rather have a great meal and pay a little more and get smaller serving. Despite the reviews saying how mean and nasty the owner is, we went here twice this week and received a friendly greeting from her and she checked in on us in addition to our waiters. Very friendly service here. Enjoyed the low carb omelette menu option, as I order my omelettes without toast and potatoes everywhere I go. Also despite reviews saying you allegedly aren't allowed to make changes to menu options, I added onion to my omelette and it was DELICIOUS. Fresh fruit sides available and yummy drinks. I was on vacation down in Madiera Beach, FL last week and I heard about this place from many locals. I had to make a visit before the trip was over. Lisa's was just a short 10 minute walk from John's Pass. Me and a friend walked down to it and we went inside. We first met Lisa, the woman behind all the magic. She greeted us warmly and quickly sat us outside, since the day was so beautiful already. We were then served by a man with a bit of a dry personality. He wasn't super friendly like Lisa but he quickly got us our drinks so we could enjoy them while looking at the menu. The menu has a great breakfast menu, which can sometimes be hard to find. I chose to Banana's Foster French Toast, which was also on a sign with specials so I knew it had to be a favorite. The food came out very efficiently. The French Toast was so warm and moist. Covered in a banana cream sauce, it looked to die for. It had a taste to match, it was warm, sweet and not too dry. The bananas on top were warm and had the banana cream sauce all over them as well. I was very impressed by how well it was prepared. I would definitely go back to Lisa's and I probably will seeing as I vacation to Madeira every year. We didn't have masks and she asked us to go outside until we had one on and since we didn't have them so she gave us them. It's her place and her rules! Fine by me! She was really nice and so was the staff. We had their 3 shot lemonade omg! Must try! I had the breakfast burger and it was amazing and my husband had southern biscuits which he loved too! TLDR: If you want to waste your entire morning waiting for mediocre, over priced food and want to deal with horrible attitudes from the owner and wait staff, visit Lisa's Cafe. My family and I have been locals our entire lives and somehow never ate Lisa's Cafe. We decided to try their breakfast and arrived at 9:00 am when they first open. We were seated quickly with a few other groups of people and that's when the fun began (sarcasm). We were a 4 person group, ordered simple meals from the menu (an egg sandwich, a veggie omlet, and two corn beef hash meals). Groups of people around us were receiving their food, eating, and leaving. The owner, Lisa, was herding oncoming customers and fielding complaints from seated parties. She came across as confrontational and unprofessional. Likewise, the wait staff had unpleasant attitudes as well. We asked for refills on coffee while we waited and our waitress would acknowledge our request, disappear for some time, and then gave us attitude when we asked her for the same refills again once she reappeared without a coffee pot in hand. As time went on, more parties of people arrived, ate, paid, and then were replaced by new parties. I started keeping track of the people around me to distract myself from the hunger pains. The one table right next to us went through two rounds of similar sized parties and was on to hosting it's third group of customers by the time we received our mediocre food. Although mediocre is probably being too generous. The food wasn't anything special, the portions were small and over priced. All of our eggs were over cooked and cold. Had a fantastic experience at Lisa's Cafe for brunch. Our server, Andrew, was very attentive and gave us great recommendations. I had a Mimosa, and my girlfriend had their Signature Bloody Mary. We found this gem purely by a happy accident. Lisa is incredible- she gladly describes the entire menu, seats you, serves you water and will bring you anything you need. The ambience is incredible-quiet, romantic, but not uncomfortably so, with great standards from Sinatra, Ella et al playing in the background. As for the food- you will NEVER have any better or more lovingly prepared, with an eye to detail on every aspect. My filet was the best I've ever eaten and could have been cut with a fork alone. Then overheard her barking orders to the staff like a drill sergeant. Were told Zero substitutions on the menu. -If you didn't like something on the plate don't eat it. Came here with my family (5 of us) and we were attended instantly. The mimosas were ok but the crab cakes, eggs benedict w/corn beef hash, biscuits and gravy, and potatoes were absolutely delicious. I visited Lisa's cafe with friends for breakfast. The cafe opens at 9:00, we arrived at 8:15. We didn't mind waiting. It was a beautiful morning. Lisa the owner greeted us with a beautiful smile and gave us an presentation of the menu. We we're seated and the waitress ~Michelle wasn't as pleasant. She immediately advised us of the short staff and ask us to order quickly. My order wasn't to my satisfaction. I had coffee with cream, the cream had expired. My omelette wasn't tasteful, however my toast with jam was good. When I got the bill to pay it had one price and when I gave her my credit card i noticed the bill adjustment was more. We went in on a "slower" mid-week morning, when it was cold and raining... What a nice surprise! She was extremely nice, inquired immediately about the quality and service we were receiving, and because they hadn't gotten too busy by then, had some interesting conversation with us. First, I must say, I never do this; however, I just had an experience that I will not soon forget. I've been coming to Madeira Beach for three years now multiple times a year and the first time I was here I discovered Lisa's Café. I was blown away by the food and every time I come to town I go there several times. Not anymore though. Today I asked a simple request which I was denied. It does state that there will be no modifications on the menu which I understand. I asked to put a little less feta cheese on my omelette. The waitress said they do not do modifications, and also stated that they don't really put a lot on it. When the omelette came, there was quite a bit. I asked to talk to the owner Lisa. She came over and right away said we do not do modifications. She then proceeded to pick up my knife and said just open it up here. I can do it for you and scrape them off. I told her no. The part that really upset me was that she went to the table right next to me and talked about me very loud for at least 2 to 3 minutes. I was honestly shocked that an owner of a business would actually talk about a customer to another table within earshot. I have gone there several times, but I also refer people to go there. If you don't mind being treated poorly by the owner themselves, I would recommend this place. But I will never go back after being treated the way I was. It was purely disgusting. read more

So first off the food is amazing. It was really good. The problem with Lisa's is Lisa. She is just plain rude and obnoxious. Funny thing is; she doesn't even realize it. Food was good, but...I had to ask for lemon in my water 3 times. Daughter had to repeat a request for her coffee to be served. We saw our food ready, but it sat for 5 minutes before it was brought to us. Gravy was already cold. Always a great Breakfast! Our current favorite place to go on the weekends. The last visit, this past weekend, I had the Eggs Benedict, and a side of bacon...both so so good... My girlfriend had an omelette that was cooked exactly as she ordered it. Seems like people are most picky about Breakfast foods.... if you are one of those people, this is a place for you.
