It was freezing in. There was the only complaint I have. We had to sit in our car because it was so cold inside but aside from that the food was hot fresh crispy very well seasoned not too salty, and everyone was really nice. My wife ordered the gizzards. I stopped by for lunch. The facility appears to be clean with a large parking lot. It is apparent that this used to be a Wendy's. Minimalism is what I would best describe the interior. It is clean but decor is spartan, with pallets of soft drinks near the counter and coolers with cold drinks lining a wall. The service is also barebones, with the staff being friendly and adequate for a fast food place. The menu is quite large but consists of a few items in different quantities and combinations. I recommend taking some time to study the menu before placing an order, which may be a challenge if you're in a busy drive-thru. During my visit I ordered the two piece fish meal with fries and okra, in addition to a six piece fried gizzards. Each order included a roll. The food came out after about five minutes and was hot and fresh. Despite dining in, everyone in the dining room received their order in a bag as if it was a to-go order. The portions were generous. The fish fillets are in wide strips but I was not able to determine what type of fish. It is deep fried but not greasy. The same can be said for the fries and okra. It is apparent that each item is fried in a different oil, unlike what I have experienced before at other small fried chicken places. The gizzards are also fried right and kept their chewy texture. There are no refills for drinks. Overall while the service at Lisa's is minimal, the prices are reasonable, and the portions are generous. I made an order but realized I ordered liver instead of gizzards. Canceled this and ordered correctly, only to get liver once delivered. I was SO upset and I made a separate order for just the gizzards BUT before doing this I called their facility only to be more frustrated with the person on the phone, this after repeating SEVERAL TIMES the issue. Since I posted my first review almost a year ago, this has, indeed, become our weekly indulgence. No exaggeration: we've eaten here 47 times in 48 weeks LOL! We've also tried even more of the menu and the chicken tenders and fried shrimp are just as awesome as the fried chicken and catfish. And although I have gotten the okra on the side a few times, we still mostly order double fries with our meals every time. And I still crisp them up when I get home: 20 minutes at 350 is the sweet spot. But yeah. Went through the drive-thru and ordered a 15 piece fish dinner with french fries and corn on the cob. I also asked for six pieces of fried shrimp. The food quality at this place I would say is good. I liked the shrimp, the batter was crispy and had good flavor. Fish was also good though it had a strong aftertaste. There was one problem, and it was that they didn't give us the sides at first. We went back and they gave it to us with no real problem. It would've been nice if we didn't have to go back to get it though. The french fries were fine, though a bit chewy. Good fried catfish! Some locations serve catfish nuggets. The service is good but they stop cooking around 9:15 and 9:30pm. They are not playing about closing immediately at 10pm! Each location is different, it might be a storefront with a drive-thru or it might be a liquor store and gas station where you can buy lottery tickets, booze, and snacks while waiting for your order. Another review for Lisa's?! This is the 5th one for me folks. I love this chain and have been to this newest location a few times now. They have all the standard items that the other locations, however I do think their prices are a little higher. I could be wrong and will confirm that. The staff is always friendly, again like the other locations. What else can I say about Lisa's that I haven't already? The fried chicken is tastefully brined and freshly fried. The catfish is cornmeal breaded. They have crinkle fries which are my favorite. I love their corn nuggets and pizza pockets. Thanks to a popular Filipino fried chicken chain, I've been requesting a side of brown gravy to dip my fried chicken in. Please don't tell my doctor. Although this location is closest to my home, my visits here depend on what time of day it is. It can be difficult to get in and out of the parking lot during peak traffic times. The Blue Mound Rd location is my alternative but I haven't been back since they forgot both sides to my combo. Check your orders before leaving especially if they're super busy. This family owned chicken shop has been popping up everywhere, I think I've been to more than 5 locations of Lisa's Chicken all over Fort Worth and Arlington. The price is too good to be true. I love their specials, I think its $2 for 2 piece dark. We got the family pack of dark leg/thigh for $7.99, comes with rolls (not very good, not glazed or anything special but for $7.99, I'll take it). The marination is so good and juicy, all the way to the meat. The fried catfish is okay, I prefer's crispy chicken and seafood for the fish. Their fried butterfly shrimp is pretty good.
