Excellent spot! We popped in for lunch when we were in the area, and were very happy with the whole experience. Great food, great service, friendly and casual environment. Strolled in on a cold Tuesday evening around 6pm the bar was half filled and the dining area was empty. We were seated at a table and the ambiance was really cute and clean! The service was fast and our food was good. The buffalo wings, cauliflower and potstickers were average but the salads and rigatoni plates were cleared at our table. Love the vibes read more

This place is a little gem in Fairfield. Small quaint atmosphere with great decor. This is a great place for just about any time of day. We have been for anywhere from brunch to happy hour to dinner and this place never disappoints. First off the food is great can't go wrong with anything on the menu, and there are always great specials to choose from as well. Drinks are always done right with a good selection of wine and a couple of different beers on tap. There are some good happy hour specials as well drinks and a couple of food items. Service is always great, friendly staff and quick service you can't go wrong. The only downside is parking which can be tough on occasion but it is totally worth it. Went for a Sunday brunch and the menu was very good, a little bit for everyone. The restaurant was packed which was a good sign. Waitress was prompt and friendly. There was live music and with the crowd it was fairly loud. Due to the size of the restaurant the tables are also fairly tightly packed. The food was very good, although home fries were cold on two of the plates. The issue was speed in service. The kitchen was having great difficult in getting dishes out timely and together. I will blame it on the crowd that day. Overall very pleased with the restaurant and will be back and hope kitchen issues are resolved. read more

Thank you for squeezing us in! They had a table when we dropped in for a quick breakfast and it turned out to be Mother's Day, however they needed the table by 1pm which gave us an hour, which worked out perfectly for us. And despite the packed house and busy endless things happening, they didn't rush us. And kindly altered the breakfast to cater to our vegetarian diets. The staff were all super friendly, warm and excellent! I just wished I lived closer by. This would be my brunch spot! The food is freshly prepared with great quality ingredients and looks amazing as well. So I can't recommend this place enough! read more

For a small intimate bar that serves American food this is as good as it gets! The short ribs entree is outstanding. Very tender meat packed with lots of flavor. Came with a side of sweet potato fries and steamed broccoli. For dessert we had the cheesecake which was mind blowing. All of which was priced very reasonably. Keep in mind this is an extremely small space with tables ridiculously close to one another, but at the end of the day it is all about the meal which was great paired with extremely friendly service. So yes one of the best meals I've had in a while! Worth a return visit. read more

The Asian Pear Salad I had there was quite good. I haven't tried anything else so I can't rate the other food. The ambience was pleasant, but the band that Friday night was a little loud for me. They were at the entrance and I was with my girlfriends sitting in the covered outside seating...probably too close to the music. Went there for the first time for dinner, just a few days before Valentine's Day. The place is small, but nice & cozy! We were one of 4 or 5 tables there so the space wasn't an issue at all. We had the Arthur Avenue spring rolls which were AMAZING! I had the Miso Glazed Salmon & my boyfriend had the grilled Hangar Steak; & both were SO so good! We have eaten at the Little Goose many times and the food was great, but not on Mother's Day 2023. What happened guys? The buffet was all cold, no burners under the trays. It tasted like you made the food the day prior. The carving station was a disaster, for the man cut the meat in thick hunks, not slices. We could not even chew it for it was too thick and cold. They added the tip, so this buffet that was suppose to be $50, cost us $71 each. It was not worth $10. So disappointing, it could have been great. read more

Cozy and inviting atmosphere. Immediately reminds me of The Little Pub in Ridgefield set at a Cape Cod beach cottage. The menu has a little bit of something for everyone - from gastropub seeking foodies to health conscious salad-eaters to the Grandpa Joe's who only eat burgers. Good list of drinks, beers, and wines. My only caveat: don't order the Calamari Salad. It was satisfactory but I was expecting warm, crackling calamari and instead got a cold salad with plain cashews, plain bananas, and very few pieces of the actual calamari. I was blown away by the cobb salad at Chelsea (same owner as this establishment) so perhaps I set my expectations too high. Was a little disappointed given the other reviews. My son and I went there for dinner after a movie. The place was crowded and the tables were too close together. I kept getting hit by people and waitstaff passing by. The food was ok, but not great. We started with the burrata, which was the highlight of the meal-it is as good as others have said. I then had the French onion, which was not bad. My son had the big Mack burger medium well, but the outside was burnt. He didn't like it. I had the Mykonos salad. The dressing was kind of bitter. This was my second experience here. It's a small, crowded little place, but it is popular for a reason. Parking can be a bit difficult. They have a small lot, so you may need to try the street. We waited at the bar for about 20 minutes for a table of 5. It is a cozy and rustic atmosphere. Nice for a date or catching up with a friend. We split the burrata with prosciutto and the chicken and waffles appetizers. Both were delicious. I had the chicken caprese sandwich and sweet potato fries. I tried the eggplant fries, which were really good and the onion rings, which are thinly sliced and crispy with salt and pepper. I really wanted to love this place since it has outdoor seating and the staff is very courteous. However, the food is bland. They do not serve almond or soy milk for your coffee. The Belgian waffles look like small regular waffles or the ones you get from Trader Joe's in the freezer aisle. The steak was tender but lacked flavor. We were hit with a split charge of 3 dollars at the end of the meal even though we ordered enough food for 2 people. Would've appreciated if we were given a heads up about that charge. Ordered a Diet Coke and got a terribly sweet (diet?) Pepsi. Also, no free refills, which was not brought to our attention so I paid 6 bucks for 2 glasses of disgusting sugar seltzer. Barely saw our waitress even when the place was empty at 1 pm on a Saturday. The food is excellent but the upcharges and mediocre service will keep us from frequenting this place. Went for a weekday late lunch, it was busy but not too crowded. Ordered the nachos for an appetizer for 3 of us. They were very good and we could have stopped at that since the plate was huge! We had the French dip and fish tacos. Food was very good. Sadly, like most places these days, the service was not great. Waitress did not seem too busy but the service was terrible. She never came back to fill water or tea when we asked for it, she never removed any of the dishes from the table. One of my favorite restaurants!! Every single thing on their menu is a delight! I've so far tried their hanger steak, short ribs and French dip and can't wait to come back to try more. Enjoyed dinner on a packed Saturday night. This is not a huge place, they have about 10 tables and a bar. It was very busy when we arrived at about 7:30 and they were able to seat us within about 15 minutes. I feel so lucky to get in. Our waitress Karen who also turned out to the owner was very nice and seemed completely in control which you could tell rubbed off on all the staff. Even though it was busy they kept things moving along and there were no mistakes or other mishaps with our order. They had a good menu with several italian type dishes and several burgers to choose from. For apps we got the chicken potstickers which were great and the Arthur ave spring rolls which were meatballs and cheese stuffed inside a spring roll shell with marinara dipping sauce - absolutely yummy. I got the chicken Milanese which I tend to get in many places. Theirs was excellent. The chicken was perfectly breaded and nicely crispy and the meat was juicy. The arugula was fresh and the dressing was light and flavorful. My daughter got the black jack burger. The peppercorns were flavorful but didn't overwhelm you. She asked for it medium rare and it came out cooked to proper temperature. My wife got the small version of the beet salad which was fresh and flavorful and big enough for her dinner. Bigger eaters should get the large version if you are having it as your main. After dinner we got a dessert for the table. A chocolate bottom banana cream pie with some cappuccino. The pie was fabulous. You could tell it was made in house fresh and creamy with a thin layer chocolate bottom. Overall we were happy to get in and happy we finally came back. It had been several years since we came in and now under new ownership this place seems to be doing great. Can't wait to come back. Ok i know a lot of people go here; but this place is the BEGINNING OF THE END! We met our friends there for a drink and the just finished dinner. My husband and i ordered Tetos, soda. With in five minutes the rude waitress asked us two times what we wanted to eat. When we said we were having drinks only she stormed away. The Tetos was undrinkable the soda was flat and tasted like mold. I didn't say anything! Then the even ruder owner came to our table and asked us to leave because other people can use our seats! We didn't drink our drinks because of the awful taste. We got up and as i was walking out i told the rude owner we're leaving and we couldn't drink our Tetos because of the moldy and flat taste. She of course brushed it off and said oh the taps need changed!!! This place has become greedy for $$$ and its not about the customer any longer! Very Sad! HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!! My mom was in town and we weren't sure where to eat. She's pretty picky, just knows what she likes, so I am wary of trying new places with her. After looking through the yelp pics and menu we decided to try it out. Drove by the first time since it's so small. But for reference, it's directly beside the Audi dealership. We had no trouble finding street parking. It also looked like there was parking behind the building but that could have been for a different business. The decor is beautiful. Reclaimed wood, lighting fixtures with Edison bulbs and the building itself has impeccable details such as the lattice windows. Our waitress was very nice and knowledgeable and someone kept our water glasses full. They serve the chilled tap water out of re-usable water jugs which was a nice touch. We ordered the nachos for an appetizer and thoroughly enjoyed them. My mom went so far as to say "these are the bar nachos ever". This is saying a lot...we eat nachos at many different places. They are served with a trio of sour cream, guac, and salsa. They were awesome! We were all set to order the Mack burger...until we heard the specials...a fruit gespacho (not for us), hot lobster roll ($18), and lobster ravioli ($22). Burger? ...what burger? We both got the lobster roll. Sometimes you get a disappointing lobster roll (chewy meat, not enough meat, soggy roll, etc) but this was not the case. Meat was well cooked and complimented by a regular hot dog bun that didn't complete with the lobster itself. They were topped with argali which we promptly removed...again, not our style. You are able to choose a salad, onion rings (skinny), fries, eggplant fries, and sweet potato fries. We both ordered the sweet potato fries. They were shoestring style and very good. Also, the drinks were outstanding. My mom had the ruby martini and I had an apple ginger bourbon drink (forget the names exactly). The martini was the expected strength of a martini but extremely refreshing and "light". I asked for them to go light on the apple juice and cut it with water, and they obliged, which I appreciated as a consumer. Definitely would recommend this hole in the wall! read more

The one and only good thing about this place is they have a decent rose. Table was dirty when we arrived. I ordered a salad and asked twice "with no feta cheese" and the waitress / bartender made a point of saying she needed to write it down which I saw her do. I also asked for a balsamic without the mixed feta; both the salad and dressing arrived with feta. The salad consisted of lousy poor quality lettuce, tomatoes, and grape leaves. When we asked for two more wines and a napkin the waitress went back to the bar to socialize with the regulars or her "preferred" customers. Then she returned to ask how we were doing and we again asked for the wines and napkins. She had an attitude to her unless you were friendly. Overall poor quality service and food. We went here for lunch/brunch on Easter Sunday. It was wonderful! It's small, but very nice inside. The food was delicious and more than enough. I can't rave about the desserts enough! They were so good! But the best part was the service! We caused a bit of a commotion by adding a person to our group unexpectedly and they handled it graciously! This place is a hidden gem tucked away in an easy to get to location.
