Decent food, VERY small restaurant. I came by for a quick bite and realized that they close at 3 pm because they are a breakfast and lunch only kind of place. I sat at the bar and ordered quickly since they were starting to get ready to close. I ordered a gyro and some fries. The meal was good, but the gyro was not on a traditional pita. It was more like a grilled tortilla (see my picture), so that was kind of weird. I just couldn't get over the fact that it was more of a burrito than a gyro. The place is very small. I've been in here before for breakfast when it was busy in the morning and they run out of room very fast. If you sit at one of the tables, you will be very close to your neighbors. read more

Went this morning for a working breakfast meeting and was pleasantly surprised! Many choices, friendly staff, many regular clients and great food! We both opted for the gyro and eggs breakfast, one with English muffin and tomatoes and the other with well done potatoes ( was graciously informed my server to not request crispy or they would come out deep fried --thanks for the tip!) Eggs were perfect, meat plentiful and tender. Server attentive without hovering. Good prices and great overall value. Not impressed. How it ever got 5 stars is beyond me. This not a five star restaurant. The fries would be good but they are badly undercooked. The cooks need to squeeze the excess water out of the sauerkraut before serving. It looks pretty but the rye bread is so soaked underneath you have to use a fork to eat the Reuben sandwich. That's not a sandwich. The taste was off too. As long as they have been in business next to a reputable business (central market). One would think they would have elevated the scale to be an awesome Greek/American restaurant. This place needs to step it up. The wait service is really bad. The bathroom is nice and clean. I have no idea why it took us so long to try out Little Gus'. We can literally walk here from our house (and we love places we can walk to) and they serve an awesome breakfast. Helllllo. Seating is very limited, so LG's is one place that you either can get a seat right away or you'll be waiting in line. We caught it just right, snagging the last free table for two in the dining area (too cold for the patio to be open). Within about 20 minutes, nearly every table was available - just in time for another run to start 10 minutes later. Anyway, we ordered the sausage breakfast (it came with an actual large sausage - yum!) and the gyro breakfast. So good! The star on the plate were the skillet potatoes. Slightly crispy but still tender. Not dry, not greasy. Love love love. Next time I'm going to give the pecan waffle a try, based on all of the reviews on Yelp. It looks like a winner. read more

Have rarely been treated worse, felt less welcome or otherwise been met with complete ambivalence than when we tried this place out due to Yelp reviews. I'm a HUGE breakfast food junkie and love nothing more than supporting local places. We sat for 30min (this was all pre Covid) which isn't a huge deal normally, I'm as content to sit and wait for a table at a well rated local spot as the next guy. However, the hostess (and later Gus himself) went out of their way to seat others who arrived long after we did because...and I quote "they're regulars (shrug)". Poor form or not (which it is) I'm even willing to realize regulars know the servers, owner, etc...and while not a good business practice I can understand the approach that naturally occurs between regulars and staff. But here, bypassing other customers who have been willing to sit and wait for a chance to eat in favor of customers whose names the staff know, was so abhorrently and unapologetically done that this establishment haw lost our business forever. read more

I've been meaning to head here for two years and after trying the fare I'm kicking myself for not doing so. This is your typical New England Greek diner transplanted to Plano. All menu offerings are available during open hours which means I'll be back for some breakfast stuffed cabbage or meatloaf if this winter ever gets colder. Waitresses were very friendly & kept my coffee cup full! :) I always order the Western omelette & it is hot & consistently delicious. Food was delicious as always and our waitress was great, attentive and accommodated our order to what we wanted, however this lady (I guess a manager?) Got mad at our waitress for doing so. She loudly and repeatedly criticized her for changing pancakes for french toast as we asked, saying her handwriting was too small, that other waitresses can do her job and threatening her. The girl handled all of it very well and politely, which I was impressed (I would have either cried or left if I was her at that age). That lasted the whole time we were there. If you're going to reprimand your employees, you definitely don't do it on the floor. You take them into the back, and do it away from paying customers trying to enjoy their breakfast. Then on top of all that already you don't talk to/treat an employee like that. An employee shouldn't be subjected to the threat of being let go, and need to be encouraged to learn if they show effort to do so, which we saw from her. Fortunately, since our waitress kept her cool our experience was not completley ruined. It was however was a very awkward and uncomfortable meal, because of the managers display. This incident has made us reconsider returning to this location. read more

A good small diner in an area overflowing with barely average chains and overpriced yuppie traps - a welcome sight indeed. Since Gus serves breakfast all day that's what I've had here, figured it was good. Gotta get more omelettes here, whether it's a good old standby like the Western or something a little different like the California (avocado, bacon, and cheese). With any of these there are plenty of toppings hidden underneath a blanket of egg. Other specials are worth getting too, I've seen plenty of other plates here with more than adequate amounts of food. And right along side many of these are the pan fries, no factory pre-prepared taters here. I was disappointed in a couple things here. First, don't order anything on the menu that includes jalapeno sausage. I thought that the Santa Fe platter would be much better but mixed in with the egg and cheese did not look like any sausage I was familiar with. A couple bites later and I realized they were little more than hot dogs. Also, just a small detail here but if you're gonna bring out the toast pre-buttered and there's no butter on the table, put enough on to cover each slice. If you aren't met with an unpleasant surprise like this, you'll be able to get a good meal and prices are reasonable all the way across. We love this place. It is our favorite go-to for any time of the day as long as it isn't a Monday. Closed on Mondays - very sad! My husband has lunch here so often the waitresses know what he orders and just check with him before they submit the check to Gus. My daughter is addicted to the eggs benedict which is served all day long. I love everything on the menu. The breakfast is just great and not greasy like some places which I won't name. I love the tomato basil soup, the salads are crisp and fresh, and the fries are so good it is hard to say "no". We bring all our friends and guests here. Yelp gets another assist for helping us find this place. Just got back from Little Gus and I can guarantee a return. I got the livers and onions with eggs, my son got the chicken fried steak and eggs and we decided to be gluttons and shared the eggs benedict. All three were done well - the liver was fresh and not dry or tough (at least not shoe leather tough). This will pobably gross out a couple of folks, but these were calf livers. All plates are served with skillet potatoes - plenty o' potatoes, yummy and garlicky taters. The chicken fried seemed to have been freshly made from scratch, my son loved it, but when I took a bite, it reminded me of a frozen pre-formed patty, but it was still done well. The eggs benedict plate was perfect. Pillowy poached eggs, just the right thickness cut of canadian bacon and the hollandaise was just right. It stayed sauce like instead of getting all glue like. The service was attentive and warm. Even being the though we were just the second table seated this morning. We got there right at 7am and the waitress was still doing her opening day prep. Came for breakfast on a rainy Sunday morning. Let me tell you, this place added sunshine to an otherwise dreary day. There are tons of options, from eggs to waffles to omelettes. I opted for the California omelette (bacon, avocado, cheese) and loved it. It was massive so I couldn't finish it, but I'd rather have too much than too little. My dining partner had the Healthy omelette (turkey, spinach, egg whites). He liked it, but said the meat/spinach were not evenly distributed inside. This is a STRONG TWO. 2.5 or whatever you want to classify it as. I ordered a gingerbread waffle with strawberries, eggs, sausage and ham. My friend ordered a veggie omlette with toast. My friends omlette came cold. I Things like this happen, but its worth mentioning. It came back like it should, but it didnt really hit the spot. My friend thinks the turkey was too gamey, but I thought it was nice and moist. The roasted vegetables inside were nice, but had little flavor. They forgot to put avocados in the omlette, but we decided to say nothing. My gingerbread waffle was soft. I thought it was going to be crispy. Boo. It also didnt have much flavor. The strawberries were fresh though. My sausage and bacon were pretty damn good, but the eggs were oily. They give you a good amount of bacon here. All what I ate came out to 13 dollars. Sigh. The atmosphere is definitely a dive. There can be some charm in it, if the food was better. I would only eat here again if someone insisted I go and pay for my meal. This was our first time here and we were so thankful for our fellow yelpers for the spot on reviews! From the outside, this place isn't much to look at. When you walk in, it kinda has that old timey diner feel to it, except it's run by mostly teenage girls. We were promptly greeted and seated, and began to peruse the menu. We began with coffee and it was quite rich and tasty. We both had several cups, which we typically don't do in the summer. I had such a hard time deciding what to order! So many choices, including French toast with fruit and numerous amazing omelets and of course, the diet buster: chicken fried steak! I finally settled for the waffle with pecans, and a side of grits. O. M. G. The pecan waffle was to die for. I ate every single bite and was rolling my fork around on the plate afterward trying to find any leftover remnants of syrup or pecans. And the grits...hands down the BEST grits I have ever tasted. They brought a huge bowl as my 'side' and somehow between my husband and I, we managed to clean the bowl. I would compare those grits to some I've had in New Orleans, but not including the seafood. The husband got gyro meat and eggs. At least I think that's what he ordered. Oh, Little Gus. How I wanted to like you. You know where this is going. We visited Gus for a late Saturday breakfast, around 10:00 a.m. The restaurant, which is very small, as other Yelpers have stated, was very busy. We got one of two open tables upon arriving. Our server was...brusque. Fiancee ordered the Chicken Fried Steak & Eggs. I ordered the 2 pancakes & 2 eggs combo, and I asked the waitress whether it would be possible to "upgrade" to the ginger or pecan pancakes for an extra charge. She looked at me as though I had just sprouted horns. After considering my wild and crazy idea for a moment, she apprehensively agreed. I told her I would like to try the ginger. After retreating to the kitchen to turn in our order, our server doubled back to our table a moment later and asked, "Did you only want ONE of those pancakes to be ginger?" Wow, I guess this really was a "first" for them. As long as I (apparently) already had everybody seriously confused, I told the waitress that I would like to have one ginger cake and one pecan if possible. I bet that really blew their minds...but, they did it! Our food came out quickly. The first thing I noticed was that my breakfast didn't come with toast, though the menu stated the following above the section where my meal was listed: "Served with homemade pan fries, buttered white or wheat toast, biscuit or english muffin". I asked the waitress whether my meal came with toast, and she shook her head no. Well, ok then. On to the part you have probably been waiting for: the food. Scrambled eggs were fine. Pan fried potatoes were tasty...probably the best thing on my plate. Pancakes? Sucked big time. I mean, I hate to be a downer, but these were some of the worst pancakes I have ever had. They were both dry and burnt around the edges (see picture). I MIGHT have sent them back if our waitress hadn't been such a Suzy Sunshine. I think the ginger cakes might have been decent had they not been so overcooked...the flavor was good. My fiancee's experience was very different from mine...he loved his breakfast. He said the CFS was great, but he especially loved the biscuit & gravy. I had a bite of said biscuit, and it was pretty dang tasty. $23 for two breakfasts and two soft drinks. I thought I had written a review the first time we went, but I didn't. We've now been here 3 times in about 6 weeks. I can't seem to bring myself to try something new because I'm hooked on the Pecan Waffle!! Not too sweet, it's light and fluffy and soooo delicious. We also get the pan fried potatoes-wow!! Very flavorful and better than the frozen hash browns you get at most restaurants. To top it all off, the service is impeccable! The servers have great personalities and and are quick!
