I just LOVE Topa Topa and everything about it, including this place! We came here multiple times during our trip to Ojai, as we just loved the vibe, the beers and the food!! It's also right in the heart of the "downtown" area. Little Sama is part of Topa Topa Brewing Co - Little Sama has a takeout window or a place you can order inside (not sure about the current situation but this was as of a few weeks ago) and a bunch of outdoor seating. Due to the government mandated COVID restrictions about serving food with drinks, in order to get drinks, you also have to get $5+ worth of food from Little Sama (I think it was $5, it was a small amount). So my boyfriend came here one night while visiting Ojai on a weekend trip and after a long day of drinking I decided to get a side of some sort of fried green beans which the bartender recommended. WOW SO GOOD! Really exceeded my expectations. The next day, we had lunch here and had the tofu bibimbap and banh mi sandwich. Both were so good. I would 100% recommend coming to Topa Topa even if just stopping by for a quick drink. Very much a "local brewery" type of feel - loved it! read more

Visited this place after running around the track at Nordhoff HS with some friends. They all drink so Topa Topa was the first draw for them but I don't drink so the food, after checking out the menu online, was my big draw. Got the pork belly sandwich with seasoned tots, and I was amazed. The sandwich was quite delicious, it was full of flavor. The pork belly being braised was tender, all the toppings in the sandwich enhanced the flavor and my mouth was happy. I had been craving tater tots and finally found a place that serves them and again I was quite happy. Did try a friends order of the okonomiyaki tots and that was quite good as well. As good as the food was I was disappointed they didn't have my drink of choice, Diet Coke, but that's nitpicking. I got a can of the Blood Orange San Pellegrino and that hit the spot. Looking forward to running up at Nordhoff again so we can go here next week. read more

Sama karaage donburi: the honey sriracha aioli was delicious with the bowl They were out of a lot of good when we went which just makes me think all their food was just as good. Anything with Tofu katsu-- often sold out, it is by far the best protein they've got here, although pork katsu is a close second 10/10 2. Sama Donburi Bowl: all kinds of flavors; sweet, savory, spicy, sour, it's the bomb 8/10 3. Crispy brussel sprouts: good flavors but too salty IMO 6/10 4. Okonomiyaki tater tots: Awesome! Solid tater tots with a little extra 7/10 5. Korean fried cauliflower: Also a little too salty 6/10 6. Komatsu mushrooms: Very special oyster mushroom dish with a popcorn chicken flavor, often sold out. Comes with a spicy dipping sauce that I wish was a little less thick. 8/10 7. Food was average at best and the owner was rather rude when I went up to order (they are located inside of Topa Topa Brewery). We came during lunchtime and they were out of a few menu items, even down to sparkling water. Being pregnant I asked if they had any other options and was met by an extremely curt owner who didn't seem to care much that she was out of a large handful of options. We got to-go from Little Sama the other day while getting some drinks around the corner at Topa Topa. We ordered the nachos! Which were so insane. I have never had nachos like this before. They were light and there wasn't too much going on. Other nachos places should get tips from Little Sama because they know what they are doing. The only bummer was they are only accepting card (which I totally understand) however our main card was at the bar at Topa Topa. Luckily we had an extra. It wasn't a huge inconvenience I just think that if Topa Topa and Little Sama are going to do business together they should probably figure out a way to make this process simpler for those who only have one card. read more

I was looking forward to a beautiful and delicious BEET and FENNEl salad and was sadly disappointed at what I got. A bowl full of moslty baby romaine lettuce with sore bought croutons and what looked like sliced canned beets. This place was super interesting, it's actually a physical restaurant inside Topa Topa. The fusion food mix was unique, and they had a good selection of food and beverages for being so tiny. But beware! They run out of certain items quickly! They have speciality hand pies and some savory items, and they ran out of those about an hour after the brewery opened. I'm not sure if they make more for the later crowd. They do take awhile, but are also very busy. It's nice you can have a beer and chill, so it shortens the wait. Oh my goodness, this place is SO GOOD. Got takeout from here, and was so happy with the food and service. We got the bulgogi bibimbap, wings, Brussels sprouts, and banana fritters. Everything was stellar. I don't know what they coat those chicken wings with, but they were some of the best I've ever had. The fritters were amazing, they came with 5 fritters and I ate mine quickly so that my husband wouldn't notice that I ate 3 of the 5, and I wouldn't have to split the last one. Definitely coming here again next time we're here in Ojai.
