My family (siblings, kids, and mom) came here for lunch, and we loved the spacious, modern, and stylish atmosphere--plus the beautiful ocean view! For appetizers, we got the chicken wings, dumplings, and grilled oysters. My 9-year-old loved the wings; they were super flavorful with a subtle taste of lemongrass and just a kick of spice. The dumplings were delicious and beautifully presented. The only slight letdown was the grilled oysters--our server hyped them up, but they had a bit too much breading for my taste. Service was slow initially. When we arrived at noon, there was only one server running around managing a dozen tables all by himself. He worked hard, but taking our order took a while, which was challenging since my siblings had to get back to work. The main courses were fantastic across the board: Bouillabaisse: Incredibly rich in flavor. Pho Ga: Ginormous! My 7-year-old enjoyed it, and there was so much left over that both kids were still happily eating it the next day. Vietnamese Crepe: Savory, earthy, and lightly sweet from the coconut milk, served with heaps of fresh veggies. Balanced and delicious. Sea Bass & Saigon Bowl: My siblings loved these--very tasty and well-presented. Chicken Broken Rice: My mom enjoyed this. They accidentally billed us for beef, but the manager kindly took the whole entrée off the bill to make up for the mistake. There Is no kid menu but my kids enjoyed the options they offered. Overall, everything was delicious, well-presented, and very reasonably priced given the location and ambiance. The music did not bother us. Someone gave them a 1-star for this. Oh, what a disappointment compared to their Irvine location. The food itself was good. The flavors were on point, the quality of the ingredients was excellent, and everything tasted fresh. Unfortunately, every dish came out at the same time, leaving our table of seven overwhelmed. We couldn't enjoy each course because most of it was cold before we had a chance to eat it. The reason this is a 1-star review has nothing to do with the food. It's the service. Great service can make up for an average meal. Terrible service can ruin even the best food, and that's exactly what happened here. Our party of seven felt like we were forgotten most of the evening. Water refills were almost nonexistent. During our hour-and-a-half dinner, our glasses were only refilled twice, and trying to find our server was nearly impossible. We constantly had to look around just to get someone's attention. The biggest disappointment came at the end. We ordered the seasonal bread pudding for dessert, and it arrived undercooked and raw in the center. It should never have left the kitchen in that condition. The ambiance was lively and inviting, which was probably the best part of the experience. But atmosphere alone isn't enough to make me return. If you're deciding between this location and Irvine, I'd recommend making the drive to Irvine. Based on my experience, you'll likely have a much better overall dining experience. read more

My husband and I dined here last week. I enjoyed it so much, I asked if we could come back today. Food: The food was delicious and the presentation was lovely. (Unfortunately I didn't take photos.) I highly recommend the Vietnamese Crepe and the Salmon Filet. Both are very delicious. The Vietnamese Crepe looks huge, but it is really a light dish and a tasty, unique meal. It is stuffed with rock shrimp, grilled prawns, bean sprouts, herbs and sweet chili. The Salmon Filet is served in a scallion fondue, with a shaved fennel salad and fried shallot. The salmon looks dry, but proves that looks can be deceiving! While the skin was crisp and tasty, the actual fish was very moist, not overcooked, and satisfying to the palate with its accompanying fondue. My husband enjoyed the Coco Pork, which was slow braised, with coconut, black pepper and ginger, finished with quail egg and supreme soy, with jasmine rice. Service: The service is fast and efficient. Our server tonight seemed a little bored. Ambiance: So why not 5 points? This is where Little Sister lost points. We ate Al fresco, as we had our 2 dogs with us. The outdoor dining area is lovely, as it had been with the previous restaurant, Blue Gold, that occupied this building. The points were lost, because the music was very loud rap music, with racial and language epithets. The volume was so loud, it was difficult to carry on a conversation with my husband. My husband brought this up to the manager and she said the owner wants this type of music. My husband told her that the music was offensive and inappropriate if children were present; the manager indicated that it's music to attract a certain clientele and that they don't cater to children. My husband did notice that there were some young families dining tonight. The food is really delicious; it's a shame that Little Sister seems so focused on the rap genre of music. read more

What didn't disappoint was the food, I was super hyped that the quality and flavor stayed true. Only thing that lacked a bit was some drink mix ups but nothing more than that. 3.5 stars. Little Sister has been a restaurant franchise I go to frequently. The Huntington Beach local was a newer but more awkward experience compared to the others. Food: The fresh rice paper was the best made out of all of our visits across all of the little sisters. All of the food was well made expect for the undercooked shaky shaky beef and our bread a smushed. Service: The service seemed underwhelming and disappointing in some areas. Upon entering with our reservation, we were not seated until more than 15 minutes after arrival. I think they didn't have enough forks to sit us? After we sat down, it took a minute for our order to be taken as well. Once our order was taken there was a mistake/confusion where the runner gave us a half dozen raw oysters instead of our half dozen baked oysters. Upon the arrival of food, the shaky shaky beef was raw and red upon cutting it. The rest of the night was us working with our server to get the beef properly cooked. Upon receiving the bull, the server accidentally rang us up for 30$ more than we actually purchased! We had to acknowledge the mistake before paying. Ambiance: The view on this restaurant is beautiful, I was surprised on how much of the beach i could see from the window seat. Unfortunately, the music was too loud and we had to raise our voice a bit to talk to one another. Overall, we enjoyed a good portion of our experience. The things we didn't enjoy (aspects of the service and food) seemed to stem from the fact that the restaurant just opened a few weeks ago. I ordered the garlic noodles with chicken and they were amazing. I'd go back just for that, honestly. The bok choy was also super delicious. We also got the dumplings, which were good. Wasn't my favorite and in the future might not order it, but it definitely wasn't bad, just not my thing. My wife and I shared everything and it was more than enough food for us. Service was great. Waiter was super kind and validated our parking without us asking. Ambiance was great. I mean that view is amazing. We went to the "speakeasy" area that is basically a smaller version of the main dining area. The main dining area was booked up, but the back area is first come first serve and has just as incredible of a view. They also can serve you outside but that area has no beach views. Which if I were in a pinch I'd eat there but given the option of the speakeasy area versus the patio...I'd go speakeasy. Overall I enjoyed everything and will be back! read more

We ordered the sticky rice, garlic noodles, milk rolls, pork dumplings, charbroiled oysters, steak frites, and chicken coconut curry and wow, wow, wow. Every single dish was outstanding. Not one item was bad or even mediocre. The flavors were incredible, everything was cooked perfectly, and the service was great. We left genuinely impressed and already talking about our next visit. This was our second visit in as many weeks, and my wife and I continue to really enjoy the Asian menu. The dishes we ordered were flavorful and delicious. That said, the restaurant plays very explicit hip-hop music (with graphic descriptions of sex acts and heavy use of F-words and N-words) at a loud volume. It seems geared toward a specific adult clientele. We'd recommend considering this before bringing children. First off the location of this restaurant is amazing! Beautiful views of the ocean and the pier! While the food was great when we went, the service totally missed the mark. It was the same issues and problems they had when the restaurant used to be Blue Gold. There wasn't enough waiters for the restaurant which meant we didn't get our order taken until much after we sat down at our table, we never had enough water at our table and even had to go and pour ourselves some and beg other staff to grab us more, and the food came out in the weirdest order where our appetizers like the imperial rolls came out last. Another table had ordered their rolls much later than us and received it earlier than our table which I thought was poor coordination. Our table was a mess during our whole meal because no one bothered to clear the dishes we had finished and we had to stack them together because there wasn't enough room on the table. All in all I really want this restaurant to succeed because the food is very delicious! And who doesn't want a beautiful restaurant AND one with great service? In my opinion you can't just have a great restaurant and food alone for patrons to want to come back, you have to make it a great and relaxing experience where you're not having to desperately flag down your waiter or anyone else for that matter for water or anything else. read more

I was insanely excited when Little Sister opened in Huntington Beach, especially given the location and overall vibe, but unfortunately the food was one of the most disappointing dining experiences I've had in a long time. First off, the wine list was shockingly limited. They offered basically one Chardonnay option by the glass, and it tasted incredibly cheap and flat for a restaurant positioning itself as upscale/coastal trendy. We started with the pork dumplings, which ended up being the highlight of the meal -- and even those were just average at best. From there, everything went downhill fast. The pork belly was almost entirely fat and honestly inedible. None of us could even finish a bite. The salmon crudo was cut so thick it completely lost the delicate texture crudo is supposed to have, and it was buried under so much seasoning you couldn't even taste the salmon itself. The chicken curry was genuinely one of the strangest curries I've ever had -- it tasted more like bland butternut squash soup or baby food than curry. Completely off balance and lacking any depth or flavor. We also ordered a fish dish that arrived severely overcooked, dry, and borderline burnt. At a certain point we just gave up, paid the bill, and went somewhere else for dinner because almost nothing was edible. We had a wonderful experience here. The view was beautiful, the food was great, and the atmosphere was exactly what we were looking for. What stood out most was how hard the hostess was working. She was constantly helping guests, cleaning and resetting tables, and keeping things moving throughout the restaurant. Even while clearly staying busy, she made sure we were accommodated and helped create a great experience.
