    Breakfast fit for a king

Service has been friendly both times I've been in this restaurant. The servers are prompt to check back in on you and ensure your experience is a pleasurable one. The first time I was here, the chef came out and spoke to me about my experience. He told me they get their cheese curds from Ellsworth, Wisconsin and hand-bread them. They sure taste like it--hands down, the best ones I've had. They are lightly breaded and have the perfect ratio of breading/cheese. They come with marinara sauce, but procuring some ranch isn't a big deal either. On my most recent visit, I had a crock of French onion soup. The broth wasn't quite as flavored as I would have liked it and the portion seemed a little small. Lots of cheese, though. The whole menu is available during their hours of operation, so if you're not a big breakfast person and are hungry, Little Six is likely a good spot to hit up.

Came for their Tuesday T-Bone Steak special for $15.99 ($11.99 if you're a club member). They seated us in a booth that still had the previous customers tip on there. We felt so awkward. The host didn't remove it or the waiter who brought us our water. After they took our order they finally collected the tip. That seemed to be the norm here by looking at the other tables. The T-Bone comes with your choice of salad, soup, vegetable, potato and a dinner roll. Their steak is thin cut so I ordered my t-bone rare. It came out just perfect. Super tender and juicy. Not much seasoning but that was fine for me. I just dipped it in a little A1. They don't list how big their T-Bone is but if I were to make a guess, maybe 20 oz. I did say, maybe. Is it worth $15.99? Yeah, I'd say so. My side cauliflower was pretty damn good though!

Food is a hit or miss just like the service. Salad tasted a bit sour almost like it was going bad. The prime was saltier than normal and had more fat than actual meat on the steak. Our waiter wasn't very friendly. Just took our order and gave us our food. Never filled our waters or came back to see if we needed anything else. Had to wave him down just to get his attention. By the way, the restaurant wasn't busy at all. He was only serving our table and one other table. Won't be back for awhile!

Great selection of food-nice service. I'd recommend the homemade wild rice soup, king crab legs, and fry bread taco salad. I wasn't expecting a casino to have great food, but it was delicious.

A fruit fly in my salad.

Health inspectors should check this place out if anything.. Everything but wild rice soup makes me terribly sick. Food is always cold and even if it is, nothing has flavor. Servers really suck. They are rude and do not care what you have to say. They get quick and start to have an attitude if you have a complaint. Last time I went there was a long black hair in my pasta! And now, I just got a side house salad and there was a dead fruit fly stuck to the leaf! And the only reason I knew right away is because I shook the box around to open it up n see that...every time I come it gets worse n worse.

I've been to mallards a few times now and always is amazing!…read more Our usual go to is the shrimp boil for two. This shrimp boil is some of the best in Minnesota that I've had! We've brought countless friends here to try it and it's a heafty feat! You get around 40 to 50 pieces of shrimp, around 10 things of potatoes, six things of corn, and sausage too... it's humongous. You really get your moneys worth! If I'm being honest I haven't tried anything else here but I can assume it's equally amazing! I'm really looking forward to coming back here in the summer and enjoying this on their outdoor patio. But so far really love mallards and will always recommend it as it go to spot for anything seafood related! At our most recent stop our waiter was kind gave us lots of recommendations and was quick to refill our drinks or ask if we needed anything throughout our entire experience. This goes for each time we've been here, the service has always been wonderful. I find it this location really unique and it sits on upscale while also being able to be casual. Thank you Mallards for a wonderful time!

The best thing I ate was the bang bang shrimp taco. Got it during happy hour. Shrimp was crispy and saucy. Had a nice lil spice to it. The crab cake was thin but still good. my son enjoyed his smash burger, the Tennessee spicy chicken sandwich was good but a little dry. Cajun shrimp with creamy corn risotto was ok, was t expecting so much risotto. The shrimp was cooked to perfection but risotto was a big too heavy. The jambalaya was lacking flavor and spice.

They had some nice lunch specials but none of them caught my eye so I had the chicken taco pizza. It tasted fresh and that's exactly what I needed. It was served with sour cream and salsa and topped with lettuce, tomato and olives. The other 2 in my group got the lunch walleye sandwich with chips and the avocado chicken sandwich (she normally always gets a burger). They both said it was ok. I was the happiest with mine. We also shared onion rings and they were decent.

The sauce was rich and flavorful, the chicken cutlet crunchy on the outside, moist and yummy on the inside. There was lots of gooey, melted parmesan cheese. So good. The garlic "toast" was disappointing. It was spongy, soft, and had zero flavor. I couldn't even save it by scooping up sauce because the spongy texture was off-putting. This entree comes with a side garden salad and I ordered the blue cheese dressing. The dressing tasted like mayo with no hint of blue cheese. On my third bite, I uncovered a dead, slimy, rotten piece of arugula and that did it for the salad. Ugh. I definitely recommend the Chicken Parm. Maybe after this they'll tighten up their salad greens and wrap the toast separately from the entree.

They have massive TVs all around the restaurant to make sure you won't miss any action. They had NBA, NHL, WWE, and other sports shows. The atmosphere was great with all the TVs but the live music was an added bonus. You have the option to sit in the bar area or at a table/booth. We had 6 people and were seated immediately. The food and drinks were decently priced. I got the ounce of pain burger and it was underwhelming. It was okay but it was too saucy/greasy and the bun fell apart. The fries were tasty though! The server was fast and attentive. We couldn't have asked for better service. Overall a great place to come and watch the game!

Best inside-casino restaurant experiences I've had in MN!…read more I would absolutely recommend Hop House to any first-timers or anyone visiting the casino. From the outside, it doesn't look like much, but once you walk in, it opens up into a huge, thoughtfully designed space that feels perfect for sports watching, live music, and trivia nights. The decor is beautiful and clearly intentional because it doesn't feel like a typical casino restaurant at all. The menu has a really solid variety of elevated bar food with some standout options like bucatini pasta, a bahn mi sandwich, and even steak. We started with the cheese curds, which were excellent. They were flash-fried with a delicate batter, and served with a spicy jam sauce that I really enjoyed. The bucatini pasta was solid but definitely on the spicier side, kind of what you'd expect if spaghetti got an upgrade and a kick of heat. The "An Ounce of Pain" burger was probably the highlight of the mains. It was ordered medium but came closer to medium rare, which I personally didn't mind because it still tasted great. The toppings made it very creamy overall, so the bacon jam didn't stand out as much as I expected, but the caramelized onions were the real star. The arugula also added a nice fresh crunch. Fries were just okay, but I would order this entire meal again! The Chicago-style hot beef sandwich was another strong pick for its huge portion/good price, good spice from the peppers, and a really nice homemade-style roll that was crisp on the outside but soft inside. It held up well without getting too soggy, especially with the au jus bottom dip. And then the skillet cookie...easily the best part of the meal. Huge, perfect for sharing (though I definitely could've eaten it alone), warm, rich, and easily one of the best desserts I've had in a while. The sea salt topping was perfect. The pop rocks were a little unexpected and not totally necessary, but there wasn't much of it, so it didn't take away from how good it was. Overall, Hop House is a place I'd absolutely come back to on my next casino visit, especially during football season. Hoping they offer brunch because this would be an easy go-to spot!
