This is the best fried rice in the BCS! The staff was professional and the food was delicious.

Food is great, ramen broth is rich and full flavored. Not too spicy or garlicky. Service was friendly and quick. Priced right $22 for ramen and roll. Ambiance is simple clean overall. Will be back for sure!!

Best value Japanese food in B/CS and it's not even close. Really good quality at a very reasonable price. I eat there about once a week.

I'm proud that they have servers of this caliber at Asian restaurants in Houston, TX. Usually you see professional servers at upscale restaurants. There was a busboy there towards the end, and even he was super professional. Whoever the manager is at this location, you guys are doing an outstanding job training the staff here. Keep up the good work! 2. Price - about $15/bowl. 3. Ambiance - The decor here is beautiful. There are natural lighting from the front, with wood panels everywhere, lanterns hung high. They did a nice job decorating the place and you definitely feel as if you're in Japan somewhere. 4. Food - This is where this place shines compare to all the ramen places in Houston. They have the option of low sodium broth. I took one sip, and it felt like home cooked Ramen. I'm not talking about instant ramen that you buy from the store, but the ramen made from scratch. I often go to ramen places in Houston and I dread going because I know how salty they taste. There are 2 other locations I have in mind in Houston that are also my favorites. But I would say this is not bad compared to the bowl of ramen I had in Narita, Japan. If you're wondering what I've ordered, it was the CHICKEN RICH RAMEN and make sure to request for low sodium. 5. Cleanliness - Dining area is well kept, clean, and the busboy is on top of things. The restroom is questionable. The personal restroom doors are hard to close and lock. For management, have a look at the restrooms and see if you can improve things. SUMMARY: I would definitely come back. It is just THAT GOOD!

I chose the curry topping, and although it paired well with the pork and omurice, I found the complete bite lacking a bit of punch. So the dish itself was 4/5 for me. Maybe the sweet glaze would have helped bring the mouthful together - I'll try that next time! We also tried the purple yam fries (4/5) and they were nice and crispy. This place was pretty packed when we showed up on a Sunday evening around 7 pm. We ended up sitting at the bar, which had call buttons for service, ordering, check, etc. Overall service was good but the call button for the check didn't seem to work. Pressed it like 3 times in 10 min and no one seemed to get an alert so we just flagged someone down. The inside is pretty neat, with an upstairs and downstairs (as well as a bar area). They did a really good job maximizing their space. Definitely worth trying if you haven't had omurice before.

The ambiance is pretty cool with honey comb stacked seating along the wall. I would love to sit there one day. But only parties of two can sit there. 4. Food - I've ordered the KYUSHU SPICY TONKOTSU RAMEN. Sad to say, but my bowl of noodles was pretty salty. 5. Cleanliness - We sat in a room for 4 people. It was hot and stuffy, only to realize that the A/C vents (on the wall) were shut. So we've opened the vents, and finally a nice breeze, but only to find out why it was shut in the first place. Smells from the restrooms were coming out of the vent. We were all pretty disgusted at this point.

The age takoyaki was creamy and good to share amongst a group. The toro carpaccio was amazing as well and melted in your mouth. We also ordered chicken curry udon, chicken karaage, and tantan noodles. All had really great flavors but my personal favorite was the tantan noodles which came with poached egg, sauce, and garnishes that you got to mix into the noodles. Super creamy and nutty! I really loved the vibe of the restaurant too, it's small but has a homey vibe that would be great for either a small group hangout or a date. There's a lot of bars to visit nearby too. Our server was also so sweet and brought us a baggie of Japanese candies & sweets after our dinner since it was Valentine's Day. Only complaint was parking. Very small lot and very packed! Get there a bit before your reservation to figure out parking.

Because it is an Izakaya, the portions are small. I do think the pricing is a bit on the higher end for the small portions but overall I had a good time. The jellyfish salad is soooo goood.

It's a small and cozy place that can get packed around peak hours. I got the beef curry udon with a side of tonkatsu. The tonkatsu was tender and crunchy and made an excellent addition to the soft and creamy udon. The curry was one of my favorites I've tried so far, a generous, flavorful helping that wasn't overly salty or spicy. They also gave a good amount of tender sliced beef as well. If you're out looking for udon specifically, this place has all sorts of good options for you to choose from.

Not many restaurants in Houston offer Takowasa, which is marinated raw octopus with wasabi; and when we find one that does, it's our must order for appetizers. We also ordered the chicken karaage and agedashi tofu. The karaage was juicy and slightly larger than the size of popcorn chicken. The tofu was soft and lightly battered, however the downside is that it gets soggy quickly since it's sitting in the sauce rather than on the side. For our entrees, we got the carbonara, curry tonkatsu rice, niku tama ankake, and kakuni udon. The carbonara was nice and creamy. The curry rice tastes exactly like the Japanese box curry. The niku tama is more of a thicker soup base similar to egg drop soup, however has a more slightly sweet umami flavor. The kakuni udon had a lighter broth with braised pork belly. The service was a bit slow here, but we didn't mind it too much. The interior had a cute traditional Japanese style decor. Overall, we enjoyed our meal and we'll be back to try other udons.
