This Chinese restaurant continues to impress me with its delicious flavors! I came back here during a busy day, when Division Fest was happening just a few blocks down. The wait was a bit longer than typical but definitely understandable with all the crowds! This time we ordered salt and pepper shrimp, eggplant tofu, and hot and sour soup. The salt and pepper shrimp was my favorite. The shrimp was large and juicy, while it was perfectly seasoned and crispy on the outside. It was also a generous serving! The eggplant tofu had really great savory flavor but the ratio of eggplant was much smaller than the tofu, and I felt like I didn't get enough of it compared to tofu. The hot and sour soup was good and leans a little more on the sour side. I think it would be even better with some more depth of flavor or salt. Overall a great spot on division for yummy Chinese food! I'll definitely be back again. read more

Little Wok is an underrated "hidden in plain sight" gem in the heart of Wicker Park! I honestly underestimated the food because the interior looked so nice. Their preparation of Chinese food actually tastes really good and comparable to other Chinese restaurants in the area. They have a beautiful patio and spacious interior with large garage windows that open up in the summer. They were playing the NBA playoffs on two of their screens. Even during peak hour on a weekend evening during Do Division fest, it was only a 10 minute wait for two! The salt and pepper shrimp is solid, crunchy coating with plump shrimp and perfect salt/pepper seasoning. This is one of our go-to dishes at any Chinese restaurant and they do it well here. The Szechuan eggplant with tofu was really flavorful and tender, although it was more tofu than eggplant. The crispy onions in the brown sauce were nice and sweet. The hot and sour soup is a classic and rounded out our meal. I always forget sometimes the spice makes my nose tingle but otherwise the flavor is good. The only room for improvement would be their rice was a little dry, with the texture of day old rice or rice that was left in the cooker for a few hours. It was unusually busy due to the street fest, I've been here before and the rice is typically fine though. Overall this is a great spot for a low key dinner or a large group of 6+ since they have plenty of seating. read more

First time trying Little Wok in Wicker Park and really liked it. Loved the interiors of this place, very chic and modern. We had reservations and were promptly seated . They have a wide variety of Chinese and Japanese dishes on their menu. We tried the tom yum soup, noodles , shishito peppers, tuna tartare, sushi rolls, noodles, and ramen. The food was super delicious. The noodles and spicy kimchi miso ramen were my favorite. The food arrives quickly and portion size is good for sharing. Good chinese food! The lomein is great, probably one of my favorites in the city. The sesame chicken is also really good and it's a decent portion. My only complaint is that the Sichuan beef is not spicy at all, but it's still well flavores. They're really good for takeout and service is usually fast. read more

It was bound to happen. We found a restaurant in Chicago that we didn't like much. We started with potstickers. They were not good- I've never had a doughy potsticker. Flavor was ok, but just too much dough! Donna got salt and pepper tofu. It was breaded cubes of tofu with no sauce and some rice. She ate about a third of it. I got a raw scallop wrapped around some rice with wasabi and pickled ginger (I got a raw thing to shock the wife). By itself it had little flavor, but the wasabi was fierce. So strong, cleared my sinuses right out. My main was chicken tonkatsu ramen, a big bowl of average. Chicken was ok, a bit chewy. The broth just didn't have any depth of flavor. We went with the: - Scheuzan chicken 8/10 - Pad see ew 9.5/10 - steamed gyoza 8/10 This is the best pad see ew I have found in wicker park. I've struggled to find good Thai here! Delivery or within walking. All the normal recs have been disappointing for this dish. Little wok nailed this! Good flavor, good portion. My only wish was a little more spice but overall will def get again. My husband liked his too but it didn't come with white rice like those dishes normally do which we thought was strange... def should. We also both enjoyed the gyoza. I'm conflicted about this place after eating here several times. I like the variety of different Asian dishes on their menu - Chinese, Thai, Korean, etc. The beef cubes over rice is one of their best dishes, although the Korean beef over rice was fatty and thin. Sushi rolls are on the thinner side compared to other places. Drinks are good though. Service is typically good , although I've sometimes had dishes come out late while others receive theirs. Bad experience between restaurant and Grub Hub! Food was delivered one hour early and the driver called me to say her had arrived. Luckily I was close and I said that I was rushing home please give me 2 minutes! However he left the bag of food in the snow. It's currently 15° outside. Bottom of bag became wet obviously resulting in some of the food falling in the snow. I called the restaurant just to give them feedback so they knew that's how their driver was delivering food and whoever answered the phone told me it's impossible for GrubHub to give a delivery window ( it is of course) so I shouldn't have expected that! When I tried again to explain that the food was an hour early and shouldn't have been left in the snow when I have "hand the food directly" selected, he then told me rudely "just don't order from us anymore" and hung up the phone. It was 5 PM on a Thursday and the place was pretty empty. There are a lot of seating and it is nicely decorated. Julian (the busboy) came as soon as I sat down to fill our cups with water and was very attentive whenever we needed refills. Our waiter, Sam, was so nice and checked in on us periodically to make sure we were doing alright. The food came out in a timely manner, which I really appreciated. I had the avocado roll as my appetizer, which came with 10 rolls. It was fresh and they provided soy sauce. As my main portion, I had the walnut shrimp. It came with a side of rice as well. I was pleasantly surprised with Little Wok! I came with my partner and we really enjoyed our meal here. We initially wanted to grab sushi at an AYCE spot nearby, but the wait time was too long for our rumbling stomachs. We were greeted by a friendly hostess and seated immediately at a spacious curved booth on the first floor. I jokingly called it a couples booth because our table could have seated 3-4 but we'll never say no to a roomy booth. The space was really modern and chic. They had a full bar AND a sushi bar, and some TVs on the side wall by the stairs to the second floor. I appreciated Little Wok because it's a spot that serves solid pan-Asian fare with a lovely interior without with marked up prices that normally come with such a well-designed interior space. The price VERY reasonable without sacrificing on quality. For me, Little Wok filled a missing hole in the asian category: being able to order a beer on tap or a nice cocktail with my meal while still having items like Szechuan eggplant, mapo tofu, nigiri, sushi rolls, and sashimi sets. 2nd visit in less than 2 weeks. My husband and I like this place. The day of our 1st went on a week day night for dinner. Our 1st visit we got crab ragoons with a side of hot mustard. My husband got the Orange chicken and I got the General tso chicken. Both were really delicious and there were plenty left over for leftovers. On our next visit we went during an arts and crafts fair down in wicker park. We were hungry so we're like let's get some good food. On our 2nd Visit we got crab ragoons, sesame chicken, fried chicken wings. For drinks we got the old fashioned and Cosmo martini. This place is actually stunning inside! I wish we had time to eat indoors. 10/10 for the interior and cleanliness 10/10 for staff. Friendly and easy pick up, order was ready and on time and everything was accurate and included utensils. We picked up an order to try this place and ordered the beef lo mein, sesame chicken and an avocado roll. Beef Lo Mein: 6.5/10 it was a good amount of beef, veggies and the lo Mein was yummy. The beef was really flavorful and good! For us personally it was too salty, (if you are sensitive to salt I would stray away from this dish) otherwise ignore. Sesame chicken 8/10: sesame chicken is always an easy go to dish! It was a good size portion, not drowning in sauce, and not spicy which we liked. Avocado roll 10/10: sushi rice was cooked perfectly, presented and preserved well through our travel home and came with enough ginger/wasabi/soy sauce. I really appreciated the crisp they got on the crab rangoon and the egg rolls. It wasn't too much. It was the perfect light crisp. The only thing I will call out is that they didn't provide any specific sauce for it. It came with the little pre-packaged sweet and sour sauces, but a lot of restaurants typically provide their own sauce with it. It wasn't a problem for me, but calling that out in case that bugs you. Decided to order sushi tonight and try out Little Wok since I've passed by a few times. Ordered the Snow White roll,spicy yellowtail roll, 2 pieces of the albacore sashimi and a medai sashimi. They came all neatly in to-go containers with even a flower inside for decor. Little Wok is probably the most cost effective place in the neighborhood as others have raised their prices.
