This place is weak, they totally got over on us. We bought a used 2026 Forester on a Sunday afternoon in need of a car so we decided to look at a used car instead of a brand new car. Originally we wanted an Ascent but that was sold a weekend before but it was still online advertised. Instead we saw a 2026 Forester on the lot and was adveritised online for $36,000 but they tried to say it was mis labeled and the car is $38,000 instead of the online price that someone new started and that they made a mistake on pricing, We spoke to the GM Russ, and he promised us that he would credit the difference when our account was setup, now that the account was setup and first payment was sent, we still havent seen any credit towards our account ? and the used Forester we bought was more then a brand new Forester. He yelled at him and told him that we did not have to buy the car if we did not like it, that we can just walk away. Rude and unprofessional. Within five minutes of starting paperwork, they ran a hard credit check without my consent and lied to my face regarding my outside financing--a claim I have a witness to verify. The atmosphere was unprofessional, resembling a dive bar more than a dealership. Between the dim lighting, loud music from a Bluetooth speaker, and miserable-looking staff, the only things missing were a pool table and cigarette smoke. The process was a gauntlet of 'telegraphed' high-pressure tactics: aggressive upselling, guilt-tripping when I declined the warranty, and blatant misinformation about vehicle holds. I purchased a vehicle from Hansel Subaru in Santa Rosa just last month and had a seamless, positive experience there. By contrast, Livermore Subaru was a masterclass in how to alienate a customer. I purchased a Subaru from a dealership that was not honest. I brought a $50 reward for a test drive, and they promised to process it promptly. I should not to sign any documents before they honored the reward. In addition, they made a mistake and asked me to visit again to sign the documents they had missed, which wasted my time and money. This place is a joke. I went to buy a used car here based on the advertisement listed on their website. The salesman, Mr. Joshua, had no idea about the car. He had no idea about the feature, service cost, nothing... They tried to sell me a car with no history of service records, and when I asked them to check if they could make it certified pre-owned , they just fled the scene. New vehicles are being sold with approximately $3,000 to $4,000 worth of additional crap that they claim is mandatory for purchasing the car from them. AVOID THIS PLACE! read more

I went in debating between multiple cars and Sabrina had incredible patience with me and helped me narrow it down. I wasn't notified when's there was a serious issue with my vehicle--I only found out when I couldn't register my car. I've been driving without valid registration since NOVEMBER, which is not only illegal but completely avoidable if they had done their job. I've had to take multiple days off work trying to fix a problem THEY caused. I was promised calls and updates over and over again, but not once have they followed through unless I chased them down myself. They clearly don't care about their customers' time, safety, or trust. If I could give negative stars, I would. This place is awful. I bought a car from this dealership this year in January and now the brain is malfunctioning. I get the run around from the sales department lying about the finance dept, oh and by the way there's only one person that has access to run your VIN to see what is covered or not. No- one ever calls back. If you are buying a used vehicle from this place, I would highly recommend checking the carpet. Mine looked like it has been gutted out and put back on. Of course, I didn't see that until after I purchased the vehicle. and now I have all these issues with this car. This establishment is SHADY on so many levels. My mom is 80, so this was an important car. We needed something ultra dependable and safe more than anything. It wasn't 100% smooth sailing though. There was one person out of everyone we encountered that was very very unprofessional to say the least. This guy needs some serious training and rethinking of how he deals with people. If I can have a NEGATIVE 5 star, I would choose this option but there's no option for this I have bought my daughter's e-golf a year ago and so far, they have not sent over the license plate. Recently, my daughter is needing to change the same car as she needs a gas efficient car rather than a short range electric car. It was a bad decision to begin with but lesson learned. She has asked to see if they buy back the car and the staff DENIED her. She then went to the nearest Honda dealership and suspected that one of the staff alerted this dealership to DENY her inquiry as well. There are so many WRONG things have happened but I was gracious enough to give them grace when it comes to sending out the license plate which was THEIR responsibility. Even after a year of WAITING, this has not yet still been delivered. I wouldn't be making this NEGATIVE review for such an AWFUL experience but I will be reporting this to the BBB as well. We bought a new 2024 Subaru Crosstrek from Sohail at Livermore Subaru and it was a great experience. We've been looking for a Crosstrek for a while and at first, we were fairly settled on finding a low-milage used one. A little more research showed that the 2024s had some huge improvements (most notably the display) and the used prices were not that much less because Subarus hold their value. We went to a couple of other dealerships and it just felt weird. A lot of bait and switch with cars that were on the website but we're magically "just sold an hour ago." We checked the Livermore Subaru website late one night and found 5 cars in-stock (the most of any dealership we checked) that met our requirements. We expressed interest in a car they said they had on the lot via the website. We were a bit doubtful the car really existed based on our other experiences. We got a call in the morning from Sohail and arranged a time that same day. We were late but he was standing there when we pulled up and had the car (as advertised) ready to go for a test drive. Before we started, he explained several cool things about the car. We liked that he was knowledgeable and friendly but not pushy. He asked us over and over if we had any questions rather than giving us a "pitch." In this day and age, we, like most people, have researched vehicles, watched YouTube videos, etc so this way of dealing us was appreciated. We worked out a fair deal and the finance manager was very friendly and easy to deal with. Honestly, this was the best experience buying a car I've ever had. I highly recommend Sohail. This was actually our second experience with Livermore Subaru, the first being with their service department where I encountered two different employees; one told me if a feature was malfunctioning to simply "turn it off" and the other was a woman who managed to "mansplain" the importance of regular maintenance to me, but that was a few years ago and we decided to give the sales department a shot. We've had two Subaru Foresters and 3 STI's. We're a Subaru family. Unfortunately my last Forester wasn't big enough for our growing family so we sold it and have been waiting for the holidays to upgrade to an Ascent. My husband had been calling around to get the best price, as most people do, on a Touring trim level Ascent. After being given a pretty low price at a different dealership, he decided to give Livermore a chance to be competitive despite our feelings toward the service department. When sales manager Carl Curry told my husband our desired vehicle would be $52k (ish) out the door, my husband informed him a dealership about 20mins away offered the same vehicle for $47k. My husband remained respectful, while Mr. Curry told him, "Well when they turn you down, don't worry about coming back with your tail tucked between your legs. Don't be ashamed. I'll still sell you the car for the price I just gave you." What an unfortunate person to represent such a great company like Subaru. I'll drive to Southern California for a car before I ever consider this dealership ever again, but honestly it's a stark contrast between every other Subaru dealership we've been to. Even Walnut Creek has better tact and respect than anyone at Livermore Subaru. Just got my $47k offer in writing from a different dealership and plan to pick it up tomorrow. We've been coming to this dealership for years, we bought a car and leased two from here. Recommended it to many. We recently had them install a tow hitch on our Outback. They did a good job except for missing one cutout, which we had to come back to get fixed. Dean was super helpful in scheduling, communication, etc. Sergio was great to deal with in giving me a shuttle ride home. A few days later, Kevin (who I believe is the manager of the service dept) called to follow up on the service appointment, so I mentioned the missed step on the tow hitch installation. He insisted on making things right even though I said it wasn't a big deal. He had our car picked up for a full detail, and even left us a courtesy loaner car. Sergio dropped off the loaner at our home and picked up our car for the detail and then brought our car back all nice and clean the next day. Car buying can be pretty stressful in general but we never felt rushed or pressured.
