We hired Ivan's Masonry for two jobs: driveway renovation and a new stairway with walkway. From onset it was a long journey for us figuring out what material we will be comfortable with. Ivan patiently consulted us on every available material: concrete, stamping, coloring, and many styles from different providers of concrete pavers. None really resonated with our vision. After a month of research we ended up selecting clay pavers for their traditional look and lasting quality. The problem was that no contractor in our area would even consider working with clay pavers. Initially Ivan also refused but with some prodding he actually agreed to install clay pavers and did an amazing job. The team would start consistently punctually at 7 am and worked full days. Ivan, the owner, would work on the job 100%, including operating the equipment and setting the pavers. The site was kept reasonably clean and the process was well organized. We love the results. Our house became the model for the street as a first house with pavers. Many people complimented on the improvements and expressed the desire to contract with Ivan's Masonry. They also handled paver repairs along the way and made sure the finished work met our standards. Joe is a real pro, very communicative throughout the project, and even called to check in on days when he was not on site with his team. What I appreciated most was that their biggest concern was making sure we were happy with the project and keeping the customer first, which is very hard to find these days. Scott oversaw the construction from start to finish. He was very attentive and obviously cared about and was fully invested in the success of the project. He had an expertise with plants and gave great guidance to give me the colors I wanted in plants that would work for our space and the SoCal heat. I am constantly smiling at the plants Scott suggested. They are thriving, and I wouldn't change a thing. The crew was respectful, clean and did a beautiful job. It was a long project, but Pacific Outdoor kept their initial timeline. Our main reason for going with Pacific Outdoor was that they were a one-stop shop. They could do everything. We decided to clean up the area so we could host an important family event, and our search led to Gio and his team. He responded quickly, and we discussed what we were looking for in re-purposing the rear 1/3 of our property. He described his vision and methods, and provided a very reasonable quote. We decided to move forward, and we left it up to him to provide and plant what was needed to create a perfect space that was both functional for entertainment and really pleasant to just relax and enjoy. Gio and his team did not disappoint. He met (and exceeded) our expectations, and stuck to the schedule and budget. And he didn't just create planter areas and new lawn, he also installed a paver walkway to match our existing patio stones. When he was finished with the original scope, he offered to maintain the rear yard to make sure our investment (and his hard work) would continue to look as good as the day he finished. He is not a typical "mow-blow-& go" gardening service. When he and his team arrive, they look around, see whatever needs care and attention, make everything right, and leave every inch of the yard neatly trimmed and clean. I try to find a time to reschedule (there's no emergency here thankfully) and he says it's 1000 dollars plus the repair to come on a Sunday. 4. Says photos will be taken down like in the past. Clearly this isn't the first time. There are a lot of companies to choose from please pick someone else.

Their team was accommodating and worked around my availability without any hassle. When it came to the actual clean-up, they exceeded my expectations. The crew arrived on time and got to work immediately. They were efficient, thorough, and paid attention to detail. They even did extra work out of kindness, like trimming our trees and cleaning up the trash in the yard. The pricing was also reasonable, especially considering the quality of service provided. Just got done digging up the dead tree Yosi and RainforestLA plated for us so thought I would…read morefinally sit down to write this long overdue review. 1) After we contracted with the team it took them 5 months to start the project. Contracted March 21st 2021, work began August. 2) When they finally started the work Yosi went on vacation and wasn't present for most of the work. 3) Gave the team specific instructions to follow our property line when laying DG. Team failed to follow property line and diverted multiple feet. Had to argue with Yosi to get them to adjust the work which they eventually did. 4) We wanted specific species of tree and plants for our yard design, however Yosi only allows you to use his ONE vendor, which didn't have the varieties we wanted. Despite our disappointment, we went ahead and chose a tree and plants from the selection offered by his vendor. His team then BROKE THE TREE IN HALF when moving it in position. We asked for a replacement however it was the last tree of that variety. Of course it was the only type we liked from the selection, but again we took the disappointment and selected a different species of tree. Unfortunately the second tree wasn't plated correctly and it blew over in a storm and died. We paid another landscaper $400 try to save it by replanting it however the roots were compromised. 5) We selected succulents for the yard which should be pretty tolerant to heat, however several plants died because they did not lay the drip line close enough to the plants. I mentioned this to him, however he suggested it was in the right place despite the plants dying. When we asked him to replace the plants (APRIL 4th 2022) he sent a guy over (AUGUST 19th 2022) with cheaper plants despite our having provided the correct species needing replacement MULTIPLE TIMES. He then informed us he could not find the varieties which had dies any longer. 6) We left the placement of the plants to him. He clustered larger varieties so near to one another they are not touching. Of course they may just be growing faster than others because the drip line is so out of whack. Save yourself the headache and the disappointment.

Services I got -Demolition of backyard, fence, and old grass and fire area -Installation of new grass, St. Augustine -Drip irrigation done for front and back -Timed sprinkler system -Mulch, rocks and pavers: helping to landscape and really clean it up -Installation of 2 trees and plants in the front -Dividers along the flower beds for front and back They also work with certain nurseries and are really knowledgeable about the costs and types of materials. Super responsive over e-mail and text, and really hard working. I'm already looking into having them help with other services for my family. and they tell me they have a place where they also sell materials themselves.
