i don't know why it took me so long to try lj's!! i always pass by when i'm in the home depot plaza, but they close pretty early so i've never been in the area while they're open. i've heard great things about their food from tik tok and from the cypress community. after trying their food myself, i totally understand why! their portion sizes are very generous! my boyfriend and i shared the og burrito, and it was delicious! i have to agree with everyone who has been calling their breakfast burritos the best!! i will definitely be back for more :) read more

LJ's lil cafe is hidden in plain sight, located right in front of a Home Depot and is a bit easy to miss even when you're looking for it. Truly a hidden gem because it's so unassuming, I fully believe that this place has the BEST breakfast burritos in OC. You would never expect food of this caliber in the parking lot of a Home Depot. Let's get to the good part: their breakfast burritos and sauce. I've had a good amount of breakfast burritos in my life, and there are a lot of comparable places that are right up there with LJ's, but this place just has the slight edge. I thought about what makes this place better than the others I've been to and I think there are a few major reasons why: their tater tots, their salsa, the meats, and how large it is. Their tater tots are crispy, seasoned, and every bite you take you NOTICE the tots. The tots are much better than the potato's at other bfest burritos 100%. Their salsas are AMAZING. They charge extra for it and I HATE that, but they're trying to get their bread up I guess... give the sauces for free please, you charge 16 dollars for a burrito. The meats that they incorporate are also not in traditional bfest burritos, specifically those sausages. I think the mixture of meats all compliment one another and make the mixture of flavors very delicious. Another thing they do right is using 3 eggs, making the burrito a hefty size. The service is also very friendly, so good food, good taste, mixed in with good service is always a recipe for success. The only negatives that I have, that I briefly mentioned before is the price. They charge extra for the salsa when their burrito is already at $16. Including a tax/tip plus an extra salsa, your total could come close to above $20 for just a breakfast burrito meal. You also have to pretty much take it home to eat so you don't even have the benefit of having a sit-down meal at a cafe. It does suck a little when places such as Nick's deli only costs around $10 and their burritos are also hefty in size with less/different ingredients. One of the better breakfast burritos I've ever had. The hype is deserved. I ordered the OG Burrito and added avocado. The burrito is BIG and packed with ingredients. No skimping going on here. With each burrito purchased they give you a salsa on the side. I got the Cilantro Crema and bought a second salsa for 75 cents which was the green salsa. Both were flavorful and complimented the burrito well. Depending on the time you visit it can get busy and you might wait a bit but it's worth it. LJ's cafe is a great local spot for breakfast and lunch! LJ's comfort food is delicious and unique. My recent orders included the OG Burrito, LJ's Breakwich, Cheeseburger, and tater tots. The homemade salsa adds an excellent addition to any of the meals for an extra 50¢, Menu overall isn't huge, but all the offerings are all tasty. I've yet to try the hot dogs! Service has always been friendly. If you're in a rush or don't like lines, calling ahead is highly recommended. Walk-ups, if you're lucky, will get your food in 10-20min. The food is worth the wait though. I've seen some long lines at peak lunchtime. It's that good! The cafe is attached to the front of Home Depot. There are a couple of bench tables to enjoy your meals, but many prefer to grab and go. It's a very chill spot to relax. This family-owned business is usually open at their posted times, but occasionally, they've been closed due to emergencies. I was a little bummed when I craved their food, and they weren't open during the posted time. It happens, and I'm still happy to support locals. read more

I was at the home depot and was sad to see no hot dog guy, but saw this shack and figured that's a nice upgrade and probably safer food to eat. If you're in the home depot parking lot looking for a quick bite... go to albertacos. If you can wait or were smart and ordered ahead of time, this is your place. I went up to order and the guy told me hey man, just to let you know, it's a 15 minute wait. I said 15's not so bad, I'm going to run inside home- No man, it's a FIFTY minute wait. I think my brain automatically corrected him to 15 cause I didn't think it was possible for a 50 minute wait for a burrito. I needed to do some returns, and look for stuff in home depot, and I figure I gotta find out what kind of burrito is worth that kind of wait. And knowing my wanna be weekend warrior DIY helplessness, I probably need an hour to find what I needed at Home Depot. I ordered the Spicy OG and Queso tots and went about my errands. Fortunately it did take me about 50 minutes, so I only had to wait ten minutes. They got a lot of orders coming in. The burrito was excellent. It might be my favorite breakfast burrito in OC. It's up there with Nate's Korner. I think this burrito might be less greasy, but at the same time might be worse for me in terms of nutritional value. But they are both high on the taste scale. The burrito had a nice cheesy and warm eggy layer, but the sausage and the little bit of bite from it really cuts through. The whole thing is just like warm comfort. The tots were smothered in the Queso sauce, and somehow still maintained their cripsiness even after some time had passed. One might say they're over cooked, but I'd argue they are cooked to excel in their environment I've been back two more times since, but have learned my lesson and order online about an hour before I want a burrito and I suggest you do the same. There are two tables in front of the place, but I think it's more of a take out place. It's a home depot parking lot, so expect that it can go from mostly full to incredibly full depending on the time of day and how many people need stuff. That said it's generally easy to find a spot, just maybe not a close one. read more

When I first saw LJ's popping up on social media, I knew I had to try it. But recently, I've encountered some pretty bad breakfast burritos back to back from various places and my expectations here started to dip. But I wouldn't know for-sure so I stopped by today and luckily was the first and only person in line! I'm assuming John, the owner, came out to open the shed and greeted me asking how I was doing and what I'm ordering. I mentioned it's my first time so he recommended the OG or queso which, the OG was my plan anyway! Then the cashier greeted me and he was also super friendly. John said a big order had just come in through text but mine shouldn't take more than 10 minutes and it was definitely under that! And once I got the bag I realized that $15 charge for a burrito is, for now, at least worth the weight! Although I knew I couldn't save half of it for later given my plans for the day, I thought there's no way I'll finish a burrito this size. I opened it up and immediately pulled the two halves apart to see the endless strings of melty cheese. That's a big bright green flag in my book! It smelled amazing and I could already feel how toasty the tortilla was. I took that first bite and immediately knew this was a 5/5 star burrito and contrary to my initial plans, I ate that whole thing up right then and there. The sausage is grilled well with a good snap and so juicy while also being super flavorful, it really holds a strong and bold contrast to the burrito without overpowering it. The bacon is crispy and those tater tots - dayum those are insanely crunchy and crispy without being greasy and they stayed that way throughout my entire burrito! The eggs are fluffy, and again, so much gooey cheese spread throughout the burrito, now THIS is the standard for cheese-measurement. I also got the mild red salsa that tasted so fresh and complimented the burrito perfectly. This place is already a bit out of my way since I usually travel to the Anaheim area from LA on the 5, but I would definitely go out of my way again for this spot. read more

My husband and I were so excited to finally try this place out that we had to park at a nearby park to enjoy our breakfast burritos. The OG burrito consisted of egg, tater tots, Portuguese sausage, bacon, cheese, and their special sauce. The queso burrito consisted of egg, tater tots, hot Italian sausage, house-made queso with hatch chiles, and ground beef. I'm not a fan of burritos and I'm really picky with my breakfast burrito, but this place knows what a breakfast burrito should have! Holy mole, I have no idea how they get their tater tots to be that crispy even when it's nice a burrito. My husband and I split the OG and queso burrito and we were full the whole day. We gave my uncle the other OG burrito and I was so shocked that the burrito was still warm at 2 PM! It all makes sense why there's a long wait to get your food. We've seen this place pop up on ig a few times but always wondered, how good can a burrito be. Even upon arrival, I had my doubts. The cashier told us it would be a 30 min wait, it's located right outside the Home Depot so we weren't mad about it. I would highly recommend placing the order online before heading over. First and foremost staff is accommodating and nice. Small spot you wouldn't think much passing by in fact it took social media to shine a spotlight on it just to realize just how close I live to the place for over 20 years. I can't seem to justify the $17 price tag on the burrito I will say it's well executed and consistent the Portuguese sausage has a wonderful snap and the tots are always crispy their is a very nice portioning through out the burrito. The sauces are flavorful my favorite is the green salsa it really balances out the burritos richness. I'm making sure I write this review before I fall into the deepest food coma in my life. Who could've known a little spot posted up in front of a Home Depot could have such delicious food! They let me know it was a 20 minute wait and I was totally fine with it. 20 minutes later, my name was called and I received my order in a plastic bag. I power walked to my car, opened the wrapper which surrounded this massive burrito, and quickly took my photos. Camera eats first, then to the food: - Spicy OG Breakfast Burrito: It was ginormous. I could barely grasp half of the width of this thing. It came wrapped, and already cut in half. Inside this monstrosity was: 3 eggs, tater tots, hot italian sausage, jalapeno, cheese, and LJ's sauce. A few bites in I was sold. It tasted amazing and I enjoyed the crispy tater tots and crisp exterior. So good. I got red salsa (mild) on the side, which tasted amazing as well. Parking gets worse as the day goes by, since it's at Home Depot. First thing when they open seems to be the perfect time before you have to wait 40+ minutes for food. Don't knock it 'til you try it! So disappointing to see a great place be ran by people with no customer service skills. Undercooked eggs shouldn't be in a burrito. When I politely asked about my eggs the cashier was rude and did not want to help me out. She took my whole burrito to the kitchen and came back with it in her hand and said it was cheese. I'm sorry, but if I am paying $30 for a burrito and paying extra for egg whites. I think I should be able to get what I'm paying for not one to complain, but this was the most experience I have ever had there was no attempt to make things better or make it right instead. I was in the area again the other day and also wanted some pozole from Northgate, so I swung by LJ's placed my order and then went down the road to Northgate for the green pozole. I returned to LJ's about 35 minutes late when they told me and still had to wait a bit. They offered me some queso tots because I had to wait longer than they suggested. I will say this, it was all totally worth the wait. THe burrito was packed tight was the perfect balance of everything that was supposed to be inside of it. It was a huge, well made burrito and had just as much flavor as it did with things going on inside of it. Sausage, eggs, tater tots - the whole nine packed inside of this thing. Don't get the signature sauce tho (tastes like thousand islands) the green serrano salsa pairs way better. Food: I ordered 2 breakfast burritos. The spicy Italian sausage breakfast burrito and the Chorizo and a side of the beef and cheese, it had a bit of a heat bite to it but it was not overwhelming. The eggs were cooked perfectly. The potatoes were crispy and did not mush out or turn mealy. Flavorful with out being salty. Quality ingredients. Although both were good, I prefer the chorizo over the spicy sausage. The salsa was fresh and tasty. The Verde is super hot. The LJ sauce is like a chilie flavored aoli, pretty tasty too. Nice size burritos the ingredients evenly portioned through the entire thing. Service: I did an on-line order. The staff took time to thoroughly go thru my order to make sure I received everything ordered. They were curious, friend and clean. Followed all of my complicated instructions without a problem. Ambiance: The ambiance was families waiting for their order and other patrons heading in and out of the Home Depot.
