Both have great flavor, the burrito was packed perfectly, while the sandwich was tasty but had a bit more coleslaw than pastrami. You really can't go wrong with any of their sauces, they all complement the food perfectly. The place has a nice vibe with good music and enough seating for a few groups. That combination overpowered everything else inside, leaving the burrito feeling one-dimensional when it should have layered flavor throughout. Salsa variety is usually where a burrito shop can stand out. I sampled the cilantro, habanero, and original. The habanero did deliver a clean kick, but all three leaned heavily toward a creamy texture. For me, creamy salsa dulls the brightness that makes breakfast burritos come alive. A sharper, more acidic option would have balanced the richness of eggs and cheese much better. Also charging for more than one is a strike against them. Service and ambiance are easy to summarize. You order at the counter, wait for your name to be called, and eat in a no-frills space. There is nothing wrong with it, but also nothing memorable about it. The experience is built around the food, and when the food leaves questions, the simple setting does not elevate it. Pricing is another factor worth considering. For the portion size, you do get volume, but the flavor balance did not match the cost in my opinion. We had hoped to check them out when they were in Cypress, but we just never made it out there! Then they opened a spot right down the street, so we didn't have any reason not to try it out! I found this place on TikTok and decided to stop by to check it out. The first thing I noticed was how crowded it was and how limited the parking was. I ordered their OG breakfast burrito and a side of tater tots. They offered a nice variety of sauces, so I got the mild roasted red salsa and LJ's signature sauce, and they also gave me the medium green serrano sauce to try. Out of all three, I enjoyed the mild roasted red salsa and the green serrano the most. The burrito itself was large and filling. I split it with my boyfriend, and even after just half, I was already full. It was a bit on the oily side, but the fresh red salsa balanced that out nicely. The sauces also paired well with the tater tots. LJ's signature sauce tasted like a chipotle aioli very creamy and rich. I decided to stop by this place because I kept seeing it on social media and also since I live close by I always see it when I pass Chapman to get to the 5 freeway. I was debating between the breakfast sandwich and the burrito, but I decided to get the burrito because so many reviews have been talking about the burrito. I ordered online and I stop by in the restaurant and waited by the counter. The online system told me to check in with the friend, but I decided to just wait on the side and see how the kitchen ran. What was nice was that once my order was ready I got a text message telling me to check in with the front. I observed a lot of people eating inside but it wasn't too crowded to make me feel uncomfortable. Everything is very clean and it's very comfortable to either eat by yourself or even eat with maybe one friend. Everyone who placed an order in person seem like they knew what they all wanted. There was one person managing the cashier and orders and another person handling the drinks. The espresso machine and other equipment are pretty legit since I saw a separate machine to grind the beans and I even saw legit matcha set. Even though I didn't see much on the menu. Maybe I should have asked since I saw a bunch of seasonal drinks on the menu. After I got my food, I took it home and I wanted to take a look at what this burrito was. They pre sliced it for me so pretty much when I open the burrito it was oozing cheese and very moist and not dry. I even took a picture to show you all how fresh it was. In terms of the tots, they're your standard tater tots you can order wherever but typically I guess they're put in the burrito. I don't know how they would fit that order of tater tots in the burrito but it was nice having it on the side so it doesn't get soggy. I did enjoy how there was different types of meat and the burrito and I did have a choice of a salsa. I chose the cilantro crema but I wish I tried the other ones. Maybe next time I should order the difference salsas on the side since you only got one with an order. I think for me personally I would only get this if I'm in the mood definitely even eating half of it was more than enough for a full meal portion for me. I think this place is worth stopping by if you're in the area or really are into breakfast burritos. I am a breakfast burrito SLOOT and I've heard about LJ's Lil' Cafe off social media but didn't get a chance to try it until recently - one of the biggest regrets of MY LIFE (not being dramatic at all). First of all, the owners are SO passionate about their craft that you can feel in from the ordering process to getting to food to the first and last bite... this is what true passion tastes like! The decor is so instagram worthy but what is more IG worthy is THE BURRITO. LJ's is very busy and has crazy hype for good reason. Parking can be challenging so just come a little early! I've long thought that Glee's had the best breakfast burrito but this might have just topped it! The tots are perfectly crispy, you cannot miss with any of their sauces, and everything is perfectly seasoned and cooked. We stopped by LJ's in Orange for the first time. Their burritos are so good, but their pastrami sandwich is amazing. Culinary at its best. Pastrami is not cold cut in plastic wrap. It is the real deal. Wood smoked brisket, smell like you are a camp fire. I am guessing the wood is Oak. Generous portion of meats, and all the right trimmings that go with it. Very reasonable price too. There were so many people in line, I got flustered and even forgot to check in on Yelp. Luckily I snapped some photos before we devoured it all.
