I really wanted to love this place but..service sucks and food is average. The concept is definitely fun but falls short from lack of execution. The wait, okay..not excited but, it's a given. But, they managed to get that wrong. After being seated, I thought, we'd be off to a better experience..the mini conchita breads were warm and delicious. However, that was the end the grand experience. We ordered the appetizer trio, nachos, endless pancake, potato tacos. All food except the tacos were cold. Tacos were at best, warm. Cheese was not even melted on the nachos. Sad Drink cups were empty..sitting here waiting for the pancakes were painful. Probably had to wait about 25 minutes for the 2nd order of pancakes to come back out! Everyone was just about done eating. So..bad service, average COLD food, had to wait an hour and 15...no thanks...HARD PASS. read more

1/2 - A Mixed First Impression with Lots of Potential My partner and I first discovered Loaded Café in Placentia after finding Panecito on Instagram and catering some of their Mexican sweet bread for one of our events. When we came to pick up our order, my partner spotted this new breakfast spot next door and was eager to try it -- so we decided to come back for brunch. We arrived on a Saturday around 11 a.m., right at peak brunch time, and waited about 20-25 minutes to be seated - understandable given the hour. While waiting, I wandered over to the Panecito side of the café and witnessed excellent leadership from Alex, the location manager. A woman was picking up two full-size fruit tarts and several treats. Though she easily could've carried everything herself, Alex immediately stepped in, helped her to her car, and made sure everything was loaded safely -- all without being asked. That kind of initiative and care really stood out. Once seated, our server, Josephina, greeted us by asking if we were ready to order -- a bit abrupt since we had just sat down. We placed our drink orders and decided on food fairly quickly. I ordered the veggie stacked plate, which was fine but nothing remarkable. My partner ordered the carne asada chilaquiles, which were flavorful and definitely the highlight of our meal. The menu leans heavily toward sweeter breakfast options like stuffed French toast and crepes, alongside a solid lineup of Mexican breakfast dishes. Every table around us received a complimentary bread basket from Panecito -- except ours. After placing our order, Josephina didn't return to check on us. Instead, Alex once again stepped in and brought out our food himself. When I later tried to ask Josephina for salsa, she seemed disinterested and dismissed my questions, incorrectly stating they didn't have any options beyond enchilada sauce (even though the menu listed a creamy salsa). I also had to point out the complimentary bread basket before she reluctantly brought it over. Her attitude felt disengaged, and the lack of basic follow-up really affected the experience. By the time she finally asked if we needed anything else, we were already done eating and just requested a box. There's a lot of potential here -- the restaurant itself is clean and inviting, the food (especially the Mexican dishes) shows promise, and Alex clearly embodies excellent customer service and leadership. Unfortunately, our server's inattentiveness overshadowed much of that. We plan to give Loaded Café another try because the potential is there -- I just hope next time the service matches the effort Alex puts into creating a welcoming experience. read more

The service and food were on point! The pancakes were crispy on the edges but fluffy. The best pancakes were the best I've ever had.

I wanted to like it but I just couldn't find anything that I liked. Went in for breakfast, it was not busy and we were seated almost immediately. The server was nice and brought us water and then brought us a basket of conchas. At first I thought "wow, freshly made and warm" but after they cooled down, you noticed that they were a bit stale and not fresh, just warmed up. I chose to go with the chilaquiles and just as I suspected, I was dissapointed. The taste was alright but I felt that the sauce used along with the chips did not mix together well so it's as if I was eating hot chips with salsa. The beef was good. My boyfriend and I went here to try something new. We're both disappointed. The server was very nice and friendly. We ordered our drinks coffee and water . We got our coffee but no water. That's ok, thinking the water will come later in a few mins. Nope. The two other customers were being seated just a few minutes before us. A few minutes later they got their coffee and water. About 5 mins when the server came to put the condiments down at our table. I ask about our water, then we finally got our water. We ordered our food, and my boyfriend wanted a to try a type of Mexican bread at the table. We found out later that it would have to be ordered at the bakery counter and payed for there. Then why is it $2.00 more to have it dine in? Cause to go option is only $5.99 and dine in is $7.99. So why is there a dine in option? If we can't have it at our table? But we get two free concha's at our table, so why can't they bring the one we want to try at the table? Oh and there was a $0.50more per egg charge if you ordered a combo. Which's is fine due to the egg fiasco. Then we got our ordered the server notice my order was wrong and corrected it. My boyfriend's was ok, just an ass load of cheese. The red sauce was a bit on the pink, orange color ,due to the cheese. I had already ate my eggs, bacon and hashbrowns (since I ordered a combo ) then my actual meal came it was concha with strawberries and bananas and Nutella. It look and sounds amazing. But was disappointed because it's a french toast concha. Nowhere did it say French toast batter. I thought it was a regular concha with the toppings. That's all I wanted. Also why charge me for $0.50 per egg for a combo if the fucking French toast has egg in it and that's free!? If I would have know about the French toast style I would just no thank and would have pick something else. I ask the server about the non cash fee $1.78 that's for the eggs. I also pointed out the wrong combo. That was charged for - she did correct the wrong item on the receipt, and took off the $0.50. How about take off the flipping egg charge. Anyways we left, without getting the Mexican bread we wanted to try. But $50ish for something that was a disappointment. Nope not coming back here. First and last. read more

I had breakfast with my sisters at this interesting breakfast place cross the street from the library on Kraemer. No problem with parking. Was seated immediately and our server was nice and attentive. The decor was typical diner. Clean with ample seating. The diner serves a Mexican breakfast with American fusion. A few negatives is that we only get a fork... no spoon or knife and the server forgot my sister's coffee. We ordered chips and guacamole and that came at mid-meal. My sister ordered fruit with her crepes but our server forgot it. My machaca was okay and the portion was just right. I finished everything. Unfortunately this was a very big disappointment all the way around. The service was not great, half of our table received their food while the other half waited another 15 minutes to be served. The chicken fried steak breakfast was horrible and returned back to the kitchen, the chorizo and eggs was returned because it was not cooked completely and it took 15 minutes to bring back to the table. The restaurant was not full of patrons so not sure what the delay was but by the time the plate was brought back the rest of our party had finished eating. Millennial centric Mexican-American restaurant would be the best way to describe this spot. Food: Asada Chilaquiles Omelette We were quickly seated, and then like a dream come true, fluffy conchas were brought to the table. One pink and one white, what more could you ask for! After browsing the menu for a few minutes, I decided on the omelette as it was the best of three worlds: carne asada, chilaquiles, and an omelette. Honestly, it was pretty bomb. I went with the red sauce which is about a 5/10 hot for me, but it had a nice kick. The omelette itself is stuffed with refried beans, and there are only about 5-10 small chips on top of the eggs, but it all went well together. Restaurant: I came around 3pm, and they close at 4pm. It was just us and another table, yet service was a little slow. We waited a few minutes to be seated before they realized there were people waiting to be seated. Lots of amazing food options at reasonable prices! *Bonus...the menu has pictures of the items* We were seated quickly and plenty of open seats for what I assume because it's new to the area. It is a perfect location and very easy to find with plenty of parking. We received complimentary conchas, which were warm and yummy! The aquas frescas flight was delightful and I have to say the horchata is the BEST! The food was yummy (sadly forgot to take photos) but my family and I devoured it all! My dad's food came out looking like it had been sitting under a warmer for an hour, though they were willing to make him a new plate. Server was annoyed when we asked for water refills as all our cups were empty. Food was just okay, the pancake was dry and crumbly, falling apart. What wonderful service and delicious food loaded cafe offers! We were immediately welcomed by our waitress, Josefina, and consistently checked on to make sure everything was as good as can be. The proportions were just right and my asada chilaquiles meal was cooked to perfection! There is definitely a lot of care poured into service and food preparation! They also offer seasonal options as well as the best smelling cafe inside with more options for a sweet treat. Although we were just looking around the girl at the register greeted us and waited to see if we were going to order and also wished us a great day while leaving.
