I had the eggs and oatmeal special, which came with fruit. The eggs were good and the oatmeal was average. They didn't have English muffins. The fruit was good also and they give you a 4% discount if you use cash. They charged a non cash fee of about $1.30. They gave pan dulce for free as an appetizer. We were sat down pretty quickly but it seemed other patrons that had arrived after with larger parties were served before us (party of two) and my food was made incorrectly and no attempt to correct or even an offer to fix what was wrong was made by the server. There was no apology or anything sort of compensation for an incorrectly made order and this will definitely make me rethink if I will return as I've enjoyed my time there since they opened in my neighborhood. They have changed the menu since the last time I was here. The original breakfast was a solid 7/10 with the pancakes being a 9/10. Fluffy with crispy edges. The meat on the loaded steak and eggs was overcooked and chewy. Same with the asada chilaquiles plate. The meat had a lot of fat and cartilage that was inedible. This was my first time coming to this location. I had previously been to the one in Bellflower several times and I had a great experience. The food was amazing, the ambiance super cozy and they had the heater knocked aince it was pouring rain yesterday. I loved that! some places have their restaurants like a chest box! I highly recommend giving this place a try. We had a male server and he was okay. He only came once to check if I wanted more coffee. The hostess in the front was better - she took over (not sure why) and she was more on it. Service sucked, the guy seemed like he really didn't want to be there and when we had questions it was like pulling teeth to get an answer from him. He kept rolling his eyes. 2. They were out of most of we wanted. No agua Fresca flight, no mazapan latte, no waffles (wtf?) lol 3. The conchas were given as an appetizer like some restaurants would do chips and salsa but they were hard to chew. 4. Pancakes were super dry, even with the whip cream etc that was added on to it could not survive the dryness. Idk, overall disappointed. I don't give 1 stars. I was trying to find a win but no dice. I really want this place to succeed, but they always seem to do something that makes my head ache. Went on an early Sunday afternoon around 1pm for a late breakfast. We were happy to see the after-church crowd has mostly disappeared so while still busy, we were seated pretty quickly. I did notice quite a few dirty tables though, so the morning rush has probably just left. They had a new menu since our last visit which was nice to see, although I'm sure the prices went up, as they are going up everything. They did have sliders which I don't remember before and some desert samplers which if I was hungrier, I might have tried. The service was pretty good. Our waitress was moving fast and very efficient, while still pleasant enough so we didn't feel rushed to order. She did the typical upsell to my usual order of Swedish crepes and while I declined the combo with eggs, hashbrowns and choice of meat, I did decide to get a 2 sausage links. The food came out as usual, but without the sausage, which the server was quick to let me know they would be coming. She took another order and on her way past our table reminded me that she hasn't forgotten my sausage links. Nice touch. So, here come the links, and it take me a minute to figure out what I was looking at. It was link sliced down the middle the long way, to make it LOOK like 2 sausage links (see picture). Huh?!?!? I have NEVER seen that before. It get that inflation is affecting everything, but that was nuts. And to top if off, the sausage was pretty good so I would have enjoyed 2 FULL links. Oh well. This doesn't mean I won't return. As we were paying out bill, our service did offer us to go cups for our drinks and even a refill of my diet coke to take home. We didn't take her up on that offer, but it's keeping my review from going down to 3 stars because an extra diet coke to take home offer is worth a star in my book. read more

***Horrible Food & Service*** Waitress was an older hispanic women late 50's early 60's that wears her hair pulled back. No name tag. She was not nice at all no matter how polite we were. My husband tried to ask her a few questions about their menudo and she was walking away from him like she didn't want to answer all his questions. I'm sorry if he has more than one question. Then I asked for ice water. Never got it. We had to get our own creamers from 2 other tables. We had to ask the waitress for a refill of coffee and needed forks bcuz she didn't give us any when she served our food. Now let's talk about the food. Hubby ordered steak & eggs. Steak was not made to order so it wasn't freshly cooked. It tasted like it was yesterday's steak that was warmed up in the microwave. I had a breakfast plate of eggs, hashbrowns & sausage. My sausage tasted so gross. I even had my husband taste it and he confirmed it was disgusting. They also.give you free conchas from their little bakery but they were hard, not fresh. At this point, not surprised. We are NEVER coming back!!!!!! And please be careful with what you are charged. When we arrived, nearby customers complained about several incorrect charges on their bill from the waitress which happened to be our waitress too. read more

We ordered drinks and then she took our food order. Drinks were brought to us quickly... thank goodness. We had a newborn and 2 kids. Kids need something, and orange juice hit the spot. I've eaten here a couple of times, and ordered takeout once, and everything was good! My favorite dishes are the crepes and the pancakes. I never liked crepes until I had them here, and the pancakes are big, rich, and buttery. I know this restaurant is really good if my husband clears his plate, and he did. Loaded Cafe feels like a cross between a chain diner (Dennys) but with the4 food tasting like more of a mom/pop. - Nutella Banana Shake: good but my son would have preferred more nutella taste, he said it was very bananan - Spinach Mushroom Hollandaise: my hubs enjoyed it, said the hollandaise sauce wasn't overpowering - Sirloin Steak Breakfast with buttermilk pancakes: my daughter really enjoyed the steak, she couldn't get enough - Country Sausage Biscuit: this one was disappointing, the picture on the menu shows a sausage patty but when it came out, the waitress said they only do links. She didn't offer to replace my meal. They should correct the menu or let you know when you order. - Swedish Crepes combo with Eggs and Sausage: my son enjoyed the crepes, they were light and balanced, not too sweet or feeling heavy. The only upside was the staff members.. super nice people. I could not stop staring at the rundown, dennys look-alike decor of the restaurant. It just felt like they're trying too hard to be trendy, but ends up looking really dated and unkempt. If the food was good, I'd give a pass to the ambiance. I felt like the food was barely okay, and way overpriced for the quality we were given. I ordered the asada chilaquiles and the Asada was decent, but everything else tasted super oily.
