UPDATE** I decided to give this place another try. I begged my fiancé for us to come when he insisted us not to since the last couple of times, but he said yes after my begging LOL. Nothing's changed. If anything it's worse. THE MEAT WAS NOT COOKED, red and disgusting. LULU, our server was basically yelling our order to us and was extremely rude. We asked for the same thing as we always do, and she started questioning how we wanted our eggs or if we want green or red sauce. We've never been asked for that, the eggs always come scrambled and with red sauce. I said we want it the way it comes and she refused to listen and serve us how we wanted it. As we have been there many times and gotten the same thing and never been asked any of these question. She then realized she put the asada chilaquiles and we asked for the CRUNCHY asada chilaquiles. I have no idea what the difference is, but she realized that she made a mistake but acted very rude after. I was annoyed and you can tell I was annoyed and she could tell very much. After we finished she picked up our plates and was laughing and talking non stop with the other employees. She wouldn't give us our check though, after she came back and grabbed our cups and we asked for our check and still went to go and talk to her co workers and was just laughing about god know what. We finally decided to get up, the counter is towards the door so maybe she thought we were leaving with out paying but hey AT LEAST WE GOT HER ATTENTION RIGHT? Anyways we stood up so we could get our check at the front and we did, and as my fiancé pulled out his cc she walked away at again to TALK. She finally comes back to ring us up and right before we left the last things she says is "you should try the asada chilaquiles". VERY FREAKING RUDE. I'm never coming back. Pictures of our second unpleasant visit will be posted. I've come here plenty of time, I always go in for the crunchy asada chilaquiles, my go to. Always has been. Unfortunately the last two times I've come the chilaquiles have just been to overloaded with sauce and it makes my stomach hurt and I can't even taste the greatness of the steak or egg. Ordered Swedish crepes. They aren't served as pictured with scoop lingonberry jam mixed into butter, but were smothered in jam. I had even mentioned that I was happy to see a crepe option that looked not too sweet. Waited for dish to be remade and asked for jam on side and some whipped butter. I then received a very small side of melted butter with about 1tsp jam sitting in the bottom. Couldn't even see it until I stirred. Tasted good, but ratio was off and not enough lingonberry. The waitress was pleasant, but made me feel as though I was a bother. She even opened the menu to try and prove the dish was originally served as pictured, but saw that I was correct. Way overpriced for what I received. Didn't feel comfortable even asking for some additional jam. Somewhat disappointing experienced. On my way to work and I Yelp searched breakfast and this place popped up. It was close so I thought I would try it out. For checking in, they offered a free crepe so that was nice. Problem was the waitress did not know about it and after checking me in, she told me it was for free coffee. Caused some confusion but whatever. It took longer than 5 minutes to get coffee and water. There were people in their but not too crowded. I often wonder why it takes longer than a few minutes to get a coffee. It is irritating when it takes over 10 minutes. Breakfast was average and smaller portion. The free Crepe is the only thing that saved my experience. Went there on Christmas day 12/25/2021 and checked their door and it was closed, saw their hours in the door and it said closed at 4 I came 1 hour early for them to tell me they closed already. Why would you guys close at 3 when clearly it says closes at 4 the waitress apology was the type basically saying yeah yeah ok anything else vibe. I drove 10 minutes to get here and to find out the don't close at 4 they actually closed at 3 is super dumb. I assume the dk t let no customers in so they don't cook no more and have time to clean the kitchen ? If that was the case say you close at 3 so you have 1 hour to clean the kitchen . First time having breakfast here with my wife. First off I have to say that Karla our waitress is the best!! When we first walked thru the door we saw 1 waitress taking care of all the customers. I was tempted to leave because I assumed we would have horrible service. I'm glad we decided to stay, because Karla was on it. She sat us down told us she would be back in a few min to take our order helped all her tables and came right back. My coffee cup was never empty. The food came Out after about 20-30 min piping hot and delicious. My wife had the simple bacon breakfast burrito which was good. It was simple and classic and hit the spot. I had the chicken fried steak and eggs which was also delicious. Don't get me wrong, this isn't out of this world stuff here. But it's well executed classic comfort food. They also have a large selection of Hispanic food, which I think is smart on the owner. I saw some reviews complaining about this. But if you know the city of Santa Ana, you know that it is a city which is primarily Hispanic. So I can see why the desire to have Hispanic food on the menu. Not all desire classic American fare. The prices here mimic the prices you would find at similar American breakfast places like Denny's and Ihop. This place has unprofessional people. They usually stand around, talk amongst each other, and take forever to greet and seat. The environment isn't very welcoming when I usually walk in. Food is usually okay. Only come here for a quick breakfast since it's literally across the street for me. This is only my third time, and it wasn't the charm. Don't really recommend this place. This place just opened recently! Looking at the menu, this place seems like a better iHop or Dennys. They specialize in pancakes/crepes and have a ton of items also (wings, burgers, salads, etc.) I think my first issue with this place is the inaccurate wait time. My friend and I came in a little after 11am (on a Sunday) and there was only one party of 4 in front of us. They told us it would be a 5-10 minute wait, appropriate (mind you, there were also 2 open tables). More and more people come in and they tell them the same wait time, and it's been about 20 minutes since they told us that. There are about 3 tables open now, but they still aren't seating anyone yet (I'm assuming this is because the kitchen is backed up). Anyway, they eventually seat us, but in an 8 person-booth LOL.. (not complaining, but there were other open chairs/booths around that could seat 2-4, I thought it was funny). The menu is pretty extensive (pics attached), but I ended up ordering the Chicken Alfredo Omelette, and my friend ordered the Peanut Butter and Chocolate Crepe combo, which came with hash browns, scrambled eggs, and sausage patty cut in half. If you want to substitute your potatoes with hash browns or vice versa, it'll be an extra $1.99. Same with the addition of avocados!! The Chicken Alfredo Omelette was pretty flavorful! I've never heard of alfredo on an omelette, so that was new for me. Other than that, it had a lot of chicken and spinach in it (usually places like to skimp out), so I was happy! My friend's crepe was sorta lack luster, we thought that the crepe would have chocolate embedded in the crepe, but it just had chocolate chips sprinkled on it. The service was so-so; they were sorta kinda attentive, but nice. We had one person that just took our drink order, and then another our food order (I didn't understand that at all). Overall, I wanted to give this place 3 stars in my opinion, but since they just recently opened, I figured I could cut them some slack. We stopped in for breakfast on a Saturday morning after running errands and, surprisingly, didn't have to wait long for a table for two. The menu is huge so just know when you're going in to this that you'll need to determine if you want sweet or savory or traditional American breakfast or something with a South of the Border flair. I ordered the chilaquiles and they were good. It was served with carne asada and the meat was seasoned so I was fully on board. They also fully seasoned the hash browns and that was a treat because no restaurants season potatoes and I don't know why. It's not like potatoes have an automatic good flavor them. Anyway, my bf ordered french toast and it was really good. The service was excellent and they always made sure our coffee and water glasses were filled. Omg! So good! The ambiance and service were top notch and the food was amazing. They started us with a plate of chips (house-made) and salsa verde and bean dip (separate). I came here with my partner and had to wait about 15 minutes for a table. Not too bad of a wait for a place in a busy shopping center. They're surrounded by multiple shops you can go to while you wait for your table. I came back to check if our table was ready but even though I had been standing there waiting they let a group of 2 cut us (they walked in and were seated immediately rather than going off the wait list). Of course I politely asked about my table since we had been waiting over 20 minutes and then they said they'd seat us. I thought it was weird to not go by the list, but that was the only drawback. So this low rating is mainly because I ordered online through Yelp for pickup. I had ordered for pick up and was told by Yelp/Grubhub for to come in 30 minutes. I came and had told the hostess that I was picking up an order and she said an order didn't exist in my name. It turns out that they hadn't seen it and I ended up having to wait another 30 minutes for them to prepare my food. The food itself was very good and I would come back to definitely eat food again. They "offer" a 20% off your first online order- the menu online doesn't isn't the same menu as you see on their website online order app. We tried placing an order through chow now. And it shapes a different menu. Ya this place was....not ok, I came here for breakfast and let me tell ya, the name is very deceiving. It says burgers and pancakes on the front sign, but once your inside the menu is all Mexican food lol. I did find the burgers and pancakes though, there all in the waaay back of the menu. Also I think the torta made me sick, after a couple hours I felt nauseous... Now for the customer service, they were nice but once they came to your table, dropped off your drinks and leave, you'll never see them again.
