They just opened this spot so I wanted to be nice but it was just mis hap after mis hap :/ - onion was gone bad and stank (no problem I'll set it aside) - they got my order wrong (no problem I'll eat what I have) - chilaquiles hardly had any cheese (no problem must be Theyre style) - lemonade was... I'm speechless was it even a lemonade - sides were literally a splash of beans and a spoon of rice. Portions were so small including the chilaquiles. Los chilakillers is located in Santa Ana Orange County and it doesn't seem like much from the outside. It's a in fairly large shopping center so that part is cool you don't have to worry about parking. When you go inside it's not that much of a vibe just your typical diner however though the service was super helpful so that's always nice . The food though I was actually surprise at how tastey the food was ! The pricing of the food was low and for the amount we got i have no complains ! Had seen a post on tik tok about this place and wanted to give it a try. As soon as we walked the first thing that catches your eye is the colorful wallpaper and the music. We were kindly greeted and seated by the server, she was super nice and always kept checking in on us asking us if everything is okay. Once the food was given to us straight off the bat it looked amazing they make anything to your liking. My boyfriend order the carne asada fries and I ordered the green chilaquiles but added chorizo and egg with the green sauce on the side. Tried the stuffed chilaquiles. Not as tasty as they sound. It was more masa than cheese and had no crunch to it. Also, the salsa roja tastes like it's canned and not homemade. It came with a side of potatoes and a bolillo which was dry and hard. I think a warm and soft bolillo would be much better. The skillet was good but on the drier side. Jugo verde wasn't bad but not great either, a bit watered down. The best thing about the meal was the banana shake/licuado. The space is small but cute. They have TV's with sports playing. We happened to be driving in the area and decided to look up a place for chilaquiles. We saw the name of the restaurant and decided to try it out. The restaurant is small and has a very mom and pop vibe. The parking lot is huge as it's in a plaza with many other businesses. We were promptly greeted and seated. The person that seated us was friendly. We got the chilaquiles with pork along with the chilaquiles with egg in a habanero sauce. If you don't get the one with the egg, adding an egg on any other dish it'll cost extra. While it didn't look like much, the habanero heat was there. If you can't handle the heat it'll wreck you. The pork was tender and the negro sauce was also spicy. The dishes always came with bread, beans and some potatoes. The orange juice was definitely fresh though $9 felt quite pricey even though it was a huge glass. All in all the food was fine but it wasn't killer. I asked for a Menudo and with Pata and the lady said oh no we don't have data. I was like ok. I asked for 1 taco de Carnitas and again she said No Carnitas. I just said ok Menudo and a Coke. The food is delicious, but my rating comes from their lack of costumer service. Any time you want to place a pick up order, they never answer the phone. Call will just ring to be met by no voicemail setup. I hope they fix that, calling an order ahead is very convenient for takeout. read more
