Excellent food and great cocktail menu!!! We were recently in Savannah and stumbled upon this beautiful restaurant. We were able to get a last minute reservation which made me so happy! The menu is well rounded. I would describe it as elegant spins on comfort food. I enjoyed the pork belly as my main and it may have been the best pork belly I have ever had. My husband did the pork chop and that was phenomenal. Also the collard greens and Brussels sprouts were both outstanding. This is definitely a trendy restaurant so check it out. Was not what we expected. Service was great but the food did not live you to the hipe! DO NOT get the chicken and waffles. No flavor with brown mush around it. No surprise that this restaurant has survived 10 years on the edge of the historic and downtown areas. (But still well located at the end of Forsythe Park.)We were staying nearby and did not want to walk towards the river and tried out this restaurant. Located in a beautifully designed space the food and service were truly excellent. The snapper with Georgia grits and veggie succotash was outstanding. The fish was crispy and flaky and served steaming hot. Each ingredient had its own distinct flavor and paired very well with the fish. The server and bartender were super friendly and as the name suggests, locals. We later tried other well known restaurants near the river but Local11ten was far superior. I'll be back in Savannah at some point and will definitely return to this restaurant. read more

I have been here twice now, once with my wife and once with my mom. Both times I had a wonderful time. It's southern, but very modern. The swells from town all come here, it seems, leaving the tourists to Paula Deen and suchlike. Someone pulled up on a bicycle rickshaw last time we were there and just walked on in. Can't say enough about the staff. Everything on the menu is great. The wine list is fabulous. And the cost is less than you'd pay in Atlanta. Oh, the location next to the park is just wonderful. Ate here last night with a group and the food and appetizers were really good. I enjoyed the beef filet with the veggies, but the scoop of strawberry and the scoop of grapefruit sorbet was vertically awesome. We chose this restaurant because after a long day of driving we wanted to be able to walk from the Gastonian. What a delicious surprise- completely exceeded our expectations! I started with a cocktail called the Last Word which was different and refreshing . Our waitress was lovely and soft spoken and recommended several things which we did try and were very happy with. I had the scallops and pork belly and my husband had the Korean BBQ ribs. Both were so flavorful. Our waitress selected the perfect wines to complement our food. We were not going to have dessert but couldn't pass on the Winter White. I'm not exactly sure what is was but had marscapone and sorbet, merengue, minted sugar and pomegranate seeds. From the moment we walked in the door the hospitality was warm and attentive. We arrived a bit early but they kindly sat us right away. The menu was fresh creative and local! We started with a great cocktail and they had a diverse wine selection. The crispy chicken skin with caviar are what dreams are made of. Strait up delicious! The salami and truffle dish is a play in a classic that is simple and executed perfectly. Our entrees were equally yummy. The Hanger steak was a fun play in steak frites with shoe string fries. I just had my first meal here. I have heard so many wonderful things about this place. In fact, word-of-mouth is how I referred this place to friends visiting Savannah. It is everything the hype says. We ate at the bar where we met an amazing couple from Cleveland, Ohio. André, the bartender, took care of us with professional and amazing style and the most personable care. I have eaten here at least 10 times and have been blown away most of the time. Local is among my favorite places for dinner in Savannah. The food is delicious and the ambiance is wonderful. Their mixed drinks are also really good. I usually get the seafood special, but the scallops, chicken, and duck are always a hit in my party, as well. Since the restaurant is a converted old bank, I love to sit at the table near the vault. The location near Forsyth is great. There is also a lovely rooftop bar to enjoy on nice evenings. Parking is available next door or down the street by Forsyth Park. Local is one of the higher priced places in Savannah, but well worth it! Go- you won't be disappointed. read more

The service and the food was excellent. I was a guest of my sister and her husband on the evening of June 12th. We were joined by another sister. We all ordered something different. I ordered the Fillet Mignon with Brussel sprouts they were both melt in your mouth great! (The flavors would pop in my mouth). Had an unfortunately REALLY bad experience here for my birthday. There is bad service and management here. We had reservations that stated it was a celebration and there was NOTHING special done for my birthday- no congratulations, no dessert, not even kindness from the waiter! I've never had a waitress be rude and not offer any food recommendations! The female manager here simply said that she 'was sorry.' After a horrific evening of bad service and then bad food, the manager did not even know how to handle the situation. We went in on a Wednesday night. We had friends visiting from Fort Lauderdale and wanted to treat them to this amazing restaurant. The cheese board is awesome for an appetizer. We had cocktails and bottles of wine. Definitely try the desserts as well! The whole staff is very friendly and the manager that evening is very attentive and personable with everyone. She made us feel welcome and personally thanked us on the way out. Tyler was our server and he is professional, kind, knowledgeable, and all around great guy! Let me start off by saying smoked brussel sprouts! First time I've ever even heard of it was here and they were heavenly! One of my courses was a smoked plate and the sprouts were included. Since then, I've been smoking brussel sprouts at home. Anyways, the food here is phenomenal and the selection is always great. If you happen to get there early, you can always have cocktails at the bar or upstairs on the roof at the Perch. Or you can just move on up there after dinner and enjoy a glass of wine on the roof and enjoy. Top five restaurant in Savannah for sure and I always look forward to eating here. read more

Have you ever gone to dinner at a nice place only to have a server who is clearly not interested in serving you, let alone being at work? Unfortunately, this was our experience at Local 11 Ten recently. Our server's first thing out of his mouth was "What can I get you?" No attempt to greet us, offer to explain the menu, identify the fish of the day or any other specials. He was only interested in taking our order and getting us in and out of there as quickly as possible. I tried to give him the benefit of the doubt, but it never got better and I had to keep asking for things I expected him to do automatically at this caliber of a dining establishment. As for the food, my wife had swordfish special, which was fine, but nothing special. I had the curry chowder, which was lacking any sense of curry, or any taste for that matter. We both had caesar salads and someone was trying to overdo the flavor. As for the decor, again...nothing special. We had high hopes for this place, especially with the good Yelp reviews and reference in the New York Times "36 Hours in Savannah" article, but it didn't live up to the hype for us. Maybe a better server might have made a difference, but the boring food was still...boring. The rooftop bar was nice, but the drinks are very expensive...maybe too expensive. I just left my first review ever on yelp--for Sapphire Grill. Fantastic. We're vacationing in Savannah and had an equally great meal here at Local 11 Ten. First off, tasteful decor with a bit of effort toward keeping the noise-level manageable (cloth-covered panels behind some of the tables, a small wall portioning off part of the dining area, etc.) Be sure to check out the upstairs bar--a beautiful, cozy rooftop garden bar. You'd never know it was there if someone didn't tell you. The food focuses on locally-sourced items. We had the diver scallop special and the pork chops. I'm always bananas for scallops, and these were a fantastic presentation with a medallion of eggplant, a bed of spaghetti squash, the seared scallop, and a topping of roe. Even if you're not into roe, these are tiny and add a nice briny taste to the dish. There was a smear of lobster butter, I believe, on the plate. A delicious creamy addition to an already flavorful starter. The pork chop. OMG. Literally one of the best pork chops I've ever had in my life. Served with polenta, wilted greens, and carmalized onions. The pork was so flavorful. Not dry. Not mushy. Just friggin delicious. The bread was so-so, but the rest of the meal more than made up for it. Almost forgot the fantastic cocktail. Don't remember the name, but it included cucumber vodka, fresh cucumbers, club soda, mint, and not sure what else. Very refreshing and clean. Would probably ask for a smidge less simple syrup if we ordered a second one, but otherwise, top-notch. As with Sapphire, we'd gladly return here with friends. read more

Outstanding place. Had dinner at the downstairs bar. I'm always glad to see a restaurant know what it does best! Best in this case is limited menu, that provides something for everyone. It's better to do a smaller menu of items and make them awesome than have a 3 page menu of mediocre meals. Portions are perfect. Ryan behind the bar excels at his position and is an open voice to bounce food choices off of. Food was served on time, and prepared properly. My only complaint would be the wine menu is very difficult to read, it's just too small of a font and tends to run together. Doesn't affect the food or service, so that's why it gets 5*s from me. read more

I just went here for the first time the other night and cannot believe what I've been missing! The drinks provided a perfect mix of exciting flavors with a punch of alcohol. The food was amazing and the atmosphere was perfect! The downstairs dining area was so romantic and classy; I was shocked to see the upstairs was even sexier! The rooftop boasts romantic little nooks complete with booths and tables to enjoy drinks and appetizers with a few friends or a date. The bamboo and oak trees around the edges of the rooftop are lighted to provide the perfect dreamy atmosphere and to complement the stars overhead. Someone special? Take them here! read more

Heaven. From the upstairs to the downstairs. Local 11 Ten keeps it consistently delicious from its "Perch" to its main restaurant. I had plenty of pimento cheese creations throughout Savannah, but there is something to be said about Local's. Perhaps it's the lavash surface you slather it on. It comes together as a pleasant pairing with any of the cocktails. Downstairs, the charcuterie is this grand display of pate, homemade chorizo and summer sausage, and a buffalo sausage that I never knew could have so much flavor. This buffalo is lean AND mean! The mains for veg-heads, the socca, is rich beautiful, and something to savor. I like a good crepe or the like any time of day, and this is no exception. It finds itself stuffed with creamy cheese, tender asparagus, and other goodness that prevented me from stopping at the usual halfway point. I was a member of the clean-plate club. I saw many desserts pass by on plates, but I had no room left. I was happier with pimento cheese and sausage in place of a dessert. That's a first. Make sure to ask for Nicole, if you are relaxing at Perch, or Nula if you're dining downstairs. Both ladies provide great service full of Southern hospitality AND knowledge. They make you feel like a regular, wherever you are from. That alone deserves 5 stars in my book. read more

There are so many great restaurants in Savannah... how to choose when you're only in town for the weekend? Well, Open Table, tipped the scales for Local 11 Ten. It was a holiday weekend and it seemed impossible to get a reservation earlier than 9 pm. So I left the restaurant name blank in Open Table, selected 8 pm and Local 11 Ten came up with an opening at 8:15. The reviews looked good and we were NOT disappointed. First off, the room and the decor and the plates, everything is beautifully appointed. My husband couldn't resist the veal cheeks appetizer (how often do you find that on a menu?) and was VERY happy. He also opted for the Special, filet mignon 3 ways, and was in carnivore-heaven. My meal was a little lighter with the Caesar salad starter (of course with the white anchovies!) and another appetizer for my main course - the PEI mussels in the spicy sauce with 2 pieces of grilled brioche for dunking. The portion was more than enough for a main course. The wine list is extensive, but mainly obscure labels. Our waitress helped us select a delicious red. Upon entering this absolutely gorgeous restaurant we were greeted by the hostess KIRA SHE WAS so kind and funny & very inviting . She is who I would want greeting me at every place I go . She led us to our table and MARISOL !!!!!!!!! Came shortly after and mesmerized us . Such a sweet knowledgeable soul she really set a great mood at our dinner . The owner needs to know that MARISOL is a great part of this restaurant ...The food Taste beyond amazing which includes carrot soup , hanger steak , dug leg, Lobster , Brussels sprouts with chorizo. Thought this spot was good but would still have to give my vote to Elizabeth's on 37th as my favorite Savannah restaurant. Enjoyed the olives (served warm) as well as the locally grown greens with Strawberries as starters. But the Tuna Tartar was disappointing because honestly, it was a bit bland and could have used something like wasabi to bring it to life The scallops were excellent as a main course, especially with the peas and the lemon butter sauce. I should also note that the sides of cheese grits, mashed potatoes and even the mac and cheese were well received by every one our table. The wait staff was terrific and the setting was very nice as well. All in all, would say its worthwhile but not over the top great and given its build-up was slightly on the disappointing side. read more
