I'm so sad to say that I left underwhelmed & disappointed. After we ordered, we were brought an amuse bouche & bread. The amuse bouche seemed to be a strawberry with salt? Not bad, but weird? The bread was incredibly salty. Hubby loves bread & ate no more than 1 small piece. We shared the rutabaga soup - that was yummy. Simple & hearty & delicious! Then our main courses came... My husband had the tuna, which he ate & said was okay, but a little over cooked for his taste. I had the scallops & they were buttery and perfectly seared. However, they were served with butter beans that were so undercooked that they were inedible; hard as little rocks chipping away at my teeth. When brought to the server's attention, she offered to bring more butter beans. A big bowl of those arrived nearly 10 minutes after I finished my scallops. Definitely better that time around, but I frankly wasn't in the mood to eat a big bowl of beans for dinner. Our server was attentive & we were sat immediately even without a reservation. Host Would not push two tables together to accommodate our group even with advance reservations. Our group has to split up. Then asked for a large round table that was unoccupied. They said it was reserved but no one ever came and it remained unoccupied all night. Our reservation was for 7:30 but we didn't get our salads until after 9pm. 2 in party ordered mussels one order was so spicy it was not edible the other was fine. Very inconsistent. Portion of scallops and shrimp were laughable. 6 tiny shrimp in center of huge plate with no garnish at all. Wait people were snooty and manager acted as if he didn't care if we stayed or left. There were huge problems in the kitchen that the wait staff finally acknowleded. Very expensive for what we got. Didn't mind the prices but did mind tiny portions with large prices. Poor value. The attitude of the staff was alarming. read more

It was our first time. We ordered fish special - grouper. I wanted to ask for salt and pepper. It was so bland and taste less. We also waited 45 minutes for our food to come out. I would recommend not eating any fish dishes. I am from Richmond, Va so my expectations were not that high. Came here recently and feel like it gets worse every time. The last time we came by, the bar tender had no idea how to make a clean old fashioned. We wanted a nice drink after work and he (bearded new guy) looked at us like we were stupid for our order. He filled the glass with ice to the point that it was overflowing. The manager also has a bad attitude. Every time we go they seem to do something rude to make us feel like we shouldn't be eating there. We spend enough that the fact that we heard them say we probably couldn't afford something was pretty offensive. We tip well and we order appetizers, dinner, and dessert almost every time except for our most recent visit for drinks. Starting to not feel welcome here anymore. Good food, not always the nicest people. read more

This restaurant did not miss a beat. We loved all of the dishes we had - each had unique combinations of flavors. These included the olives, fish cheek ceviche, ribs, and scallops/pork belly. Service was excellent and the atmosphere is great. Well done. We will be back. read more

This gets five stars, primarily for the rooftop bar. My husband and I got there soon after it opened for the evening to have a drink prior to dinner downstairs, It was perfect! Seating is sofas and chairs arranged in conversational groups, Since we were early, my husband and I had privacy. The bartender (wish I had gotten his name) was terrific!!! He was friendly, enthusiastic without being annoying, helpful in describing drinks well. My husband's top shelf margarita may be the best we have ever tasted (and there is a wealth of experience there:). My spicy sidecar was wonderful...not too sweet or spicy. The extensive cocktail menu showed imagination, and the bartender told us it changes seasonally. He also said that the fresh juices they use make the difference. We had a warm castelvetrano olive appetizer and relaxed under the heat lamp. (Since there are no high tables, it is a bit awkward to eat, but this is a minor inconvenience.) Bottom line...wish I could transport directly back there. I should note that my husband and I clearly raised the average age of the bar's patrons, but we didn't feel out of place. Dinner downstairs was nice. True standouts were the sweet potato soup, pork chop, and grits. Brussel sprouts and mussels with chorizo (spicy!) were slightly disappointing because we have favorites of these at other restaurants, and our hometown favorites win the contest. Our dining server was very nice and helpful but since downstairs was much busier than the upstairs (Saturday night and all), he seemed a bit rushed. I'd give the restaurant four stars. RECOMMENDATION: Visit the rooftop bar - go early, stay late, try as many of the truly standout cocktails as you can safely handle. read more

This restaurant's reviews may be a little inflated I think. The hostess seemed a bit baffled by a request for a table which was not a good start considering there were many tables visibly available. The cocktails were great - wine list could be improved (note - my wine glass was not clean so I asked for another which was received but not accounted it seemed). The food was "good" but certainly not spectacular. What really turned me off was the marginal service... Forgotten drinks, the waiter's inability to "time" our courses and the worst was that he actually asked us when he should put the order in for our entrees. This is a sign of inexperience to me. Was disappointed that the only option for coffee was... Coffee. No espresso, latte, etc... "machine was broken". Almost cancelled desert after waiting about 15 mins for it to arrive after the coffee came to the table. For a restaurant that is trying to project "up-market" food and service this place was "reaching" and fell below that measure. As an experienced diner I have had many amazing meals for the same $$$ and definitely left feeling a bit cheated. read more

I cannot recommend Local 11 Ten. The issue is consistency. I've had a couple of great meals here, a handful of mediocre meals, and some terrible experiences. I've spent over $50 for a bad meal, and that's not okay. And, bad meals keep happening as chefs change or leave, or the kitchen has a bad night. When they've got it together, it's really good. But, they can't seem to keep it together. read more

This place needs to get over itself! For starters, I made a reservation directly through the restaurant itself for my husband's birthday. When we arrived at the restaurant, we were told that our table wasn't quite ready despite there being several empty tables in plain sight. After waiting 30 minutes, we were made to close out at the bar before moving to our table. We had a delicious appetizer of olives, but the food was mediocre at best. No mention was made about a birthday and by the time we were through eating, all we wanted to do was get out of there. When vacationing in Savannah, you can do way better for a lot less money! read more

This is one of my favorite date restaurants!! The food is always perfect; the seasonal menus are well-chosen and provide year-round variety. The rooftop bar is awesome. It's very relaxing to have a chocolate martini while sitting in at the top of the oak trees. It's so beautiful; perfect atmosphere. They even have the outdoor heaters so you can go during the winter as well. Love, love, love! read more

Phenomenal restaurant with a great drink menu. We ordered the mussels for an appetizer, which were extremely well-done. They were fresh and plentiful and had a seafood sauce that was great for dipping. My girlfriend got the lamb and I got the pork chop. Both were perfectly cooked. We split the truffle french fries, which were delicious. This place is located in a corner lot about a two minute walk from Forsyth Park. The decor and feel of the place is pretty trendy, but it attracted a very diverse crowd. It can get a little pricey, but is worth it. read more

We ate at the bar, and returned twice more because of Ryan, the outstanding young bartender who created craft drinks for us. The farm greens salad with strawberries, crisped prosciutto and candied pecans was outstanding. Other good choices were the cheese plate (on the dessert menu, but Ryan suggested it one evening when we didn't want a full dinner), the duck, and the mussels. The scallops were a little too cool when served one evening but I accept responsibility for not asking that they be replaced. read more

This is a great restaurant. From the minute we were seated we knew it. This is a restaurant that takes the business seriously. From the hostess to the wait staff to the kitchen, pride and professionalism was evident. The menu is great and the recipes not too daring. The quality of the ingredients take precedence over show off chefs. We started with an arugula salad from a local farm. It was lightly dressed (hooray!) with a simple vinaigrette. It was the best arugula I've ever had, moderately strong, peppery, but tender and not stemmy. It came out almost immediately and we asked the server to slow the pace. She said there was no pace here and she'd be happy to slow it some. Just let her know if she gets it right. Then we had the crab tortillas; four hand made open squares filled with fresh crab and home made salsa and avocado. It was terrific. For main courses we had the special; local spotted bass (never heard of it before). It was mild, perfectly prepared, over kale and another green. I had their pork chop with a sauce of coke and Jack. I was skeptical but it was delicious and not too sweet. I asked for it medium rare and it came out medium rare. Best I ever had. For desert, the molten chocolate cake was magnificent. We shared. Could have each had our own. Loved Local 11 Ten. read more

My wife and I stopped in to dine recently at Local 11 Ten. It was our 2nd visit in over a year and we were totally blown away. The new seasonal menu was enticing from top to bottom and we began with a spicy Mussels appetizer with chorizo. For entrees we had their sous vide duck confit with foie gras stuffing - as well as braised pork shank over mushroom risotto. On top of these outstanding dishes was probably the best wait staff service we've ever experienced. Our server John patiently explained - to the most subtle details - the ingredients and preparation of several menu items. His command of the menu and the highlights for each dish was simply amazing. You can tell how this kind of professionalism is part of the culture here. His attention to our dining needs, checking in at appropriate times - engaging casual banter by asking our connection to Savannah and so much more. I applaud Local 11 Ten for presenting us with a perfect dining experience. We'll be back more frequently to try the other menu items we missed this last visit. read more

We visited Local 11ten for a 60th birthday celebration at the recommendation of our favorite restaurant (Alligator Soul) that was closed for renovation while we were in town. The atmosphere was great and service was impeccable. However, I was disappointed that even with 24 hours notice, the chef couldn't come up with anything special to accommodate a vegan meal request other than a entree of succotash which was already a side dish for the evening. Hugely disappointing for a restaurant of this (supposed) caliber, especially when I received the bill and it saw it was $27 for what amounted to about two cups of mostly lima beans. My mistake I guess for leaving it "up to the chef" but I trusted that with their menu, reputation, local resources and price range that I would be wowed (and I'm willing to pay for that) but it just didn't happen on this visit. The other meal (steak), our appetizers and drinks were very, very good and our server, Jenna, was absolutely perfect. We will not return as it is obviously not a place for those with dietary preferences or restrictions but I do recommend it for those on unrestricted diets. read more

Although our bed and breakfast highly recommended this restaurant that was located close by, I was overall disapproved by our dining experience. First I do think the general caliber of the food was fairly good but the service and the general attitude left much to be desired. I started with a Cesar salad that really was tasty and unique. So that was a real plus. The Prince Edward Island mussels I ordered as an entre off the appetizer menu had a nice sauce but the quality of the mussels themselves were inconsistent as many of the shells were served empty and the mussels were just not plump and juicy as I would've expected from a high quality establishment such as they were marketing themselves. The service was mediocre inattentive and inexperienced. My date ordered the free range chicken and due to miscommunication, received both breast and the dark meat, which she doesn't eat. She also did not like the sides that came with the course and requested a sub instead. We were charged full price on the chicken and the side. Essentially $31.00 for chicken and mac and cheese. I thought that a bit excessive and inflexible. For a place off the "beaten path" I would've expected a more customer friendly attitude. Although we loved Savannah(our first time) I think the next time we're down this way(and we will be back) I think we'll be going somewhere else where we are better appreciated. read more
