We are new in town and came here with friends who have also recently relocated here and they have already decided that this is one of their go-to dining destinations. The food is homestyle and I had the fried chicken and jalapeño cornbread, green bean casserole, and lima beans, and blackberry pie. Ate on opening night tonight and it was delicious and the decor so upbeat and fun! The staff were attentive and smiley. Meatloaf was better than mine at home and mashed potatoes are something I don't normally eat all of but oops too good. Best part was the chocolate cake - just trust me - it doesn't look like it would be super moist but it was like the cotton candy of chocolate cake - just melted in my mouth. Came across this place by happenstance, and thank goodness we did! The staff (Including Joe himself) were all so friendly and accommodating. I love nothing more than to support local restaurants and this one is certainly worth your patronage! The fried chicken was crispy, juicy, and delicious . We went here on a double date. Even though everyone wanted casual, no one was all that impressed. The taste of the food was okay, but it was cold. It was 5:30 in the evening, so it's not like it was right before closing even. The service was really good at least. Visiting from Indiana on a girl's trip and saw Local Joe's on Yelp. Absolutely delish, all the staff were phenomenal. We were even greeted at the door with a smile!!!!! This is definitely on my list for my next visit!!! Staff t-shirt said "turkey and dressing is such a blessing", that is no joke, it was to die for!!!! Came here on Christmas Eve with my mom for lunch. As soon as we walked in the door the owner greeted us with a smile & asked if we had been there. We had the meatloaf & beef tips & rice which were DELICIOUS!! The sides were yummy as well with the cabbage being my moms favorite. Staff was warm & welcoming. Vibe was very cool as well. Why would anyone go here a second time? BASIC BLAND FOOD, SMALL PORTIONS, EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE FOR WHAT YOU GET! My husband and I went there for lunch, and two basic meals consisting of a meat and two sides each was over $30.00 and the portion sizes were so small that they didn't even touch each other on the plate. And my husband's "meat" of choice was the beef and gravy over rice, and there were only small chips of beef. It looked like gravy with a few scattered tiny beef pieces added for flavoring - I'm not kidding!!! I wanted to take it back up to the counter but he didn't want to cause trouble. Also, the restaurant was full of workers standing around doing very little. It isn't a large place, and we counted 12. And this woman all dressed up and wearing heels kept going in and out of the kitchen from the back. And a young guy was walking around giving customers a nibble-size chocolate chip cookie, and he skipped us every time. Our table was the last one at the back, and he would just skip us. Finally, I got his attention and asked if we could also have a cookie, and he said they were out but he'd bring one when more had cooked. He did, but it was all very strange, so on top of the bland food, tiny portions, and expensive prices, we wished we'd never gone there, but rest assured we will not be going back. read more

My family of 3 ordered to-go a few days ago. Two of us ordered crab cakes w/ mashed potatoes and corn bites. My Brother in Law ordered Brisket w/ mashed potatoes and fried okra. We're so happy to have found delicious fresh crab cakes in Wilson County! The crab cakes were well seasoned, but they did not come with a lemon wedge or any remoulade sauce. Not a big deal, but it would have been nice to have fresh lemon. We also fell in love with the fried corn nuggets. They are made with whole kernels of sweet corn and are surprisingly light. We couldn't pass up trying the peanut butter pie and the coconut cream pie. They were both well worth the calories! read more

Unfortunately It was a disappointment. We stopped in for lunch 10/9/20. We should have left the moment we went in. There were NO Covid restrictions at all! It's cafeteria style and although the food was behind glass the desserts were sitting out for all to grab, albeit they were wrapped with cellophane but that wasn't good enough for me. The trays and silver ware were exposed for all to grab. Each end of metal cutlery exposed for any hand to touch. It had an array of desserts but the cakes looked hard and dry- I got blackberry cobbler which was cold and the crust so hard the fork wouldn't pierce it. They were out of any starch besides corn bread abs it was sweet like cake and cold. The meatloaf was fair and the steamed veggies were good but that's all I got abs my husband got abs it was $27 !!! The servers wore no masks and came up while you were in line to take your drink order. The drinks came with no lids. We are outside to avoid them snd they follow you outside. Everyone of them! They offer you fresh baked cookies but they are not wrapped. Besides there's no flavor. I wanted to like it but won't be back.
