We have been here often, this last visit was horrible. Service was so bad! The appetizer was watery and cold. When I ask why it was watery the excuse was it's like that when it's hot! It was cold and not the same on many prior visit. Then it was taken away not replaced. The worst part was after inquiring about sub par food we were ignored our entire visit. Great experience! Super cute restaurant, very nice waitress. They get very busy. Came with some girlfriends and we wanted to try all the dips so naturally we got the queso, guac and salsa trio (they have 6 diff house made salsas). The guac was my fav. Salsas are very fresh and unique. Then split a shrimp and Brie quesadilla- yummm!!! And had to get an Al a carte taco as well lol. Had the fried shrimp taco with a curry cream on it. TL;DR Review: If you just have too much money, they're just okay. (But the service was good) I can't get over going to a Mexican restaurant and paying $5 for barely passable salsa and hard, tasteless chips; but before I noticed that, I ordered drinks, and that was an ordeal. They don't serve Corona. They're out of Modelo Especial. They're out of Pacifico. The only Mexican beer they had was Negra Modelo. Bud Light? Nah. Out of that. Whatever. I'll take Negra Modelo. At least it was cold. The menu is 1.5X-2.5X as expensive as Authentic Mexican restaurants, and maybe 1.25X more expensive than other TexMex chains. IS Local Lime Mexican or TexMex? I have no idea. It doesn't really matter though, for the sake of this review, just assume that it's either of those genres of restaurant, and trust me when I tell you that you can get better elsewhere for less. My girlfriend and I paid $25 for chicken and steak fajitas. The chicken was good, but the steak was very chewy and tasteless. Also, they gave us three tortillas the size of my palm. We asked for more and they charged us for more. For THREE more. My recommendation is to go down the street to Chuy's, where at least paying too much for TexMex gets you great tasting food where the salsa's free and the chips are crisp. Or go to LaHacienda or Senor Tequila, where everything is fabulous at half the price. read more

As someone who grew up eating great Tex-Mex, as well as authentic Mexican food, Local Lime is truly: neither. Local Lime serves white girl Mexican food. And to an extent, I'm okay with white girl Mexican food. I myself, am a white girl. And sometimes, I make a little white girl hard taco, okay. This is next level. This place's food tastes like if someone had to recreate Mexican food from memory, but they only had Mexican food once. It's overpriced for what it is, and I wouldn't come back. One of my favorite restaurants. However, tonight the service was very disappointing. I heard there is new ownership now. The hostess talks back to the customers. It takes 20+ minutes to get food and then another 20 minutes to get your check. We let the manager know but didn't seem like they cared. My husband had to walk around the restaurant to find our waitress to give our credit card to pay as she never bought the check. Another waiter ended up bringing the check and credit card bc apparently our waitress was looking for a credit card she had lost. Pretty sure our food was ready for a while, however the waitress took more than 10mins to get it to us. Definitely seems like new ownership and new staff. If this continues I can definitely see the restaurant losing regular customers like me that have been dining here for 10 years! read more

I was staying in Little Rock for the night and came here on a Friday night for dinner and drinks. I waited about 10-15 mins for a single seat at the bar. So keep that in mind. If you're coming with a group on the weekend plan to wait! (Or make a resy if they accept them?) The food was so good. I started with the chips & queso. I'm from Texas so I like to think I know good chips & queso when I see it, and let me tell you, this was good stuff. I then had a taco plate with the zucchini taco, grilled chicken taco, and carnitas taco. I got the cilantro lime rice and the pickled veggies as my sides. The cilantro lime rice was the best I've ever had an absolute must here. The pickled veggies were decent. To drink I had their Paloma. I asked the bar tender to make it spicy and she did great. The second time around I asked for a little bit more soda to make it slightly more bubbly and it was the second best spicy Paloma I've ever had. So good! I have a gluten and shellfish allergy so I appreciate that their menu had food allergens clearly marked. All items that I ordered were marked gluten free, or than the grilled chicken taco. We were able to modify that to be made with a corn tortilla instead of a flour tortilla. The bar seating was very comfortable with padded high-back bar stools. But I will say that looking around the rest of the restaurant, their standard seating was cheap looking plastic chairs that looked like they wouldn't be the most comfy. Local Lime is a local gem in Little Rock! My friend and I visited for some delicious cheese dip and margaritas before I moved to Chicago. Jessica, our waitress, was a superstar. She was SO friendly and made a ton of great recommendations. I highly recommend the cheese dip, the salsa trio, and one of their flavored margaritas. When we arrived we were entered into a waitlist with an expected wait of 45 minutes. After waiting an hour we had to come in ourselves and wait for a table to become open rather than waiting for their text. The service after that was prompt and well. They did not offer complementary chips and salsa, but after ordering queso we received extremely hard chips, but the queso was okay. I had a lemonade which they claimed was freshly squeezed and house made, but it tasted like it was made with powder and coated my mouth with an unpleasant film. I had the Dixon chicken enchiladas, these were probably the worst and most under seasoned enchiladas I've ever had. The cilantro lime rice didn't taste like cilantro or lime it just had a green color to it. The black beans were probably the best thing they had although lacking flavor. All of the light fixtures had a large amount of dust on them and the vents had an extremely large amount of dust on them. The white leather that my mother was seated on was so dirty that it was turning brown. The ground was littered with a generous amount of trash and crumbs. read more

I sat at the bar for a late lunch/early dinner after flying in from Detroit and running around town. I had the $5 frozen margarita and the ahi tuna tacos with ranchero beans and pickled veggies as my sides. The margarita was strong and delicious. The tacos and sides were all fresh, authentic, and well portioned. This is a cool spot in a nice little shopping area that feels safe and hip. They also have outdoor seating. We got the season special Grilled Shrimp Tacos (the Jicama Slaw with the Sriracha Creme on here makes this taco), Ribeye Tacos (the sauce on this is also wonderful, the Fried Chicken Taco (not my personal favorite but all others in my party loved the crispiness) and the Cilantro Lime Rice. Ate here recently and although it has been great in past was mediocre this time. Both my dish and my wife's ( we had different items ) were over cooked ( cheese was burned on edges, enchiladas were tuff as they set in oven to long) and the same for my wife. Service was ok but our server spent more time chatting with bar tender and another male server than checking on us. I finally did get my tea refilled after I was finished eating. Oh boy! Was in Little Rock to visit relatives and was craving Mexican food. They suggested this place. My party of 3 came here and ordered a couple of their frozen margaritas and found them to be the right kick. We also ordered chicken tacos each and each plate came with rice and beans - We found it to be delicious as well. Our waitress was friendly as well and checked up on us often. Only thing to watch out for, is if you're out of town like me and I think this is an Arkansas thing, but on the final bill, I saw the "State liquor tax" and it was almost expensive enough to be another drink, even though we only ordered 2 margaritas. We were in Conway for Father's Day and the Fathers picked this place, first time visit for me. FOOD: Wow, just wow! We started with a salsa trio and chips, we had the tres chiles; chipotle and zucchini salsas. All three were good but I could have eaten a meal of the zucchini salsa. Next, I had the grilled shrimp and Brie quesadilla for my entree, which was cheesy, salty, smoky and super tasty. We shared bites of the salmon & fried shrimp tacos, all of which were equally delicious. Others had the Margaritas and said the one with Mezcal were fabulous. I am visiting from Raleigh, NC and I knew that when I came home to visit Arkansas local lime would be at the top of my list just because my brother raves about their food + their market corn on the cob. The restaurant is situated inside of a shopping center so the parking is great. You can pretty much park anywhere and get there quickly! We ended up parking near DSW just because we had some shopping to do. When we first walked in we were greeted by a host! She was really nice and seated us at our table. We sat in the middle of the restaurant and we had a good view of everything. The restaurant was really nice and open to people of all ages. Our server who's name was Kim was okay! She was very accommodating. Here is where things kind of went south. My brother ordered an Arnold Palmer and he asked for a refill she didn't tell us that the refills weren't free she just let him order it which I felt like she should have said something. My brother also ordered from the kids menu and because he was older she didn't tell me that it would be an up-charge for him ordering I just saw it on the bill. There were some other things as well, that we just didn't like. We ordered chicken + cheese quesadilla, the Dixon enchiladas, market corn and Queso. It came up to $45. The bathrooms were okay I felt like because the toilets are black they probably felt like they don't really have to clean them but they were dirty.
