Not everything available at local tide is available at Aslan so do take caution. It was on the smaller portion (yes I realize it's an app) but the oysters were smaller than I expected and the side "salad" was a dressed parsley medley which was quite nice but would have been nicer with some other vegetals. Here's the positive: the salad was weirdly delicious. It doesn't have anything special in it... but maybe it's just the balance? Whatever is happening, it works. And overall, all of the individual elements in the bowl were well-seasoned and flavorful. The less than positive? I don't think that the rockfish patty was adding much to the dish. The salmon dip had huge chunks of salmon and had the perfect smoky flavor. The chowder was rich, flavorful, and packed with full clams. And the smash burgers were cooked to perfection. Every single thing was amazing. But what truly made our visit unforgettable was the exceptional customer service. So I had dinner here via Aslan Brewing when we were there for drinks. This is a mixed review.... The salt and pepper fries are absolutely amazing, I love how incredibly crispy they are. However, the food itself was OK. I'm all about mixing it up and creating a unique spin on a crowd favorite (chowder) however, this was not chowder at all. This was chicken pot pie soup, but instead of chicken, there was clams. I also didn't love that. I had to pick out the clam meat myself before actually eating any of it. It tasted fine, but I was hoping for a chowder, and this did not hit the mark. My husband had some sort of fish sandwich and said it was good. I know the restaurant industry has been hit really hard due to Covid and many places are short on staff, however, it took a really long time to get any food and I also included ordering the fries as appetizers. Oh, we didn't actually sit in local tide, we sat in Aslan brewing and just ordered local tide to be delivered to our table, so I can't really speak for what that's like inside. I love when breweries or wineries have some sort of connection with a restaurant so patrons can order food, but I don't think I would come back here if it wasn't in connection with a brewery. read more

One of my absolute favorite spots for seafood in the city, tucked right into the heart of Fremont -- I would recommend coming with a smaller group, since the restaurant has limited indoor seating with a little outdoor patio. That being said, everything about the space is so fun and the staff are very helpful and sweet! If you're coming in on a weekend, be prepared to wait in line or just come a bit early or late to beat the rush (though if you come late, they'll be sold out of crab rolls). The food here is delish! I saw Local Tide during a Kenji video and knew I had to check it out. We stopped by on a Sunday after walking through the Fremont Sunday Market and surprisingly had no wait. You have to order at the counter before being seated - small plates, salads, bowls, and plates. They also offer a limited amount of crab rolls on weekends only, which I've heard is incredible, but I didn't have the appetite for it this time around. We opted for the Dover & Fries as well as the Shrimp Toast to share across our group. The inside has somewhat limited seating, with a large amount being "bar" situated in front of the kitchen, but it doesn't feel overly cramped. Service was incredibly friendly - they were quick to clean up tables, describe dishes, and check in on us. Food came out hot, fresh, and looking incredible. Everything tasted stellar. The Shrimp Toast came with a house-made chili sauce that was out of this world - and quite spicy! We ended up asking for more to share across the table and dipped the dover and fries in it, too I'll absolutely come back here to sample more of the menu. First meal in Seattle and it was a hit! Honestly, my 1 star knock off is solely bc it's not the cheapest, but it's definitely on the more "affordable" end of seafood. That being said, I would classify this as casual seafood - you order at the counter and pick where you want to sit. The portions here do make up for the price though - i almost wished they would give smaller portions at a smaller price, so I could try more things. Everything we had were delish but I felt like having only 3-4 bites of each. Nonetheless, the things we ordered: 1. Rockfish Sandwich - basically rockfish bahn mi. great seasoning, great flavor, and the bread had a good crunch. The sandwich comes with 4 pieces of fish (maybe 2x2" sizes). This was the highlight! 2. Smoke Salmon Belly Dip - this came really fast (which i guess makes sense bc they prepare the homemade chips ahead of time and have containers of the dip at the ready). The dip reminds me of a salmon cream cheese (but with shreds of smoke salmon. Quite good but wouldn't say I would 100% get this again the next time - i had gotten this bc I was influenced by all the Yelpers here lol 3. Dover & fries- honestly this does not belong in the small bites bc the price isn't a small and you know why when you see the portion. This is equivalent to the fish and chips of most places except the fish here is quite flat and thing. They give you 3 slices of this fish and small wedges of seasoned fries! They come with their own respective sauces and mini salads, already dressed. All three dishes we ordered came out quickly, were fried to perfection, and delicious with and without their sauces. On weekends they have the crab roll ($30) as well, which I'm excited to try next time! There is a decent amount of seating but it is also available for takeout. You pay first and then sit. The workers are very nice and service is extremely fast and good for this casual joint!
