Tucked away behind a modest storefront in the heart of the Sunset Strip, Amarone has been a fixture for many years. There is a small dining room in the front , and larger one upstairs, but on warm summer evenings (or during COVID) you need to be in the back patio, down two flights of rickety stairs. You will be greeted by Sandro, the owner/manager, who seems to control every aspect of your experience. After your first course, if you close your eyes, you might place yourself on the patio of as osteria in Emilia-Romagna or Toscana, letting the warm breezes waft over you, pretending that the large apartment building to your south is an illuminated 14 c church... But back to the restaurant, the food is the standout here. The dishes are classic pan-Italian drawing from the cuisines of many regions, but all are high quality and clearly prepared with care and love. From the salad with a few slices of genuine parmigiana, EVOO, arugula, radicchio, and, lemon juice, to the appetizer (Capesante al Ragù di mare) with saffron-infused shrimp, scallop and mussels in a sauce that you must sop up with their house-made ciabatta, to the Strozzapreti al Gamberi with thick, perfectly al dente thick pasta wagain with a variant saffron sauce and shrimp, you will marvel at the complexity of flavors combined with the textures that you expect, The essence of true Italian cooking is the use of a few, high-quality ingredients combined deftly into a memorable dish. Amarone does not disappoint. If you want dessert, their housemade tiramisu hits all the high notes with its espresso and cocoa-flavored mascarpone. Prices are quite reasonable, more $$ than $$$. I've paid far more for a vastly inferior meal. You can usually find parking on the street or in their own lot; check with Sandro if you have questions. The wine list is extensive, including some notable Italian and other selections. As far as I am concerned, if you want excellent authentic Italian food and atmosphere at a modest and fair price. this is your place. Full stop.

What a nice dining experience that feels like a little escape from LA. Once you are inside the place feels very Italian. We came here for a birthday celebration with a group of six. Our server was also the owner, Sandro. He was great! Such a character and you could tell he definitely loves what he does. We sat upstairs which only had three tables including ours, it felt almost private which was great. Between all of us we split two bottles of wine (delicious!), the Calamari alla Griglia, and a salad (forget which one). We had a variety of different pasta dishes as well. I ended up ordering their version of Linguini and Clams, and we got an extra plate of Spaghetti al frutti di Mare which was delicious. The Spaghetti al frutti di Mare and the Risotto were my favorites. The Calamari was not exactly what we expected, it wasn't breaded or fried it was actually grilled which I had never had before. Overall, a really great experience. You almost immediately feel like a regular in this place which was so fun and different from LA. Definitely recommend!

Birthday Panna Cotta. Absolutely delish. The best we've ever had.

I treated my partner to an evening out at Amarone. It was our first time out in over a year and the experience could not have been more perfect. Sandro promised us privacy so that my partner would feel more comfortable dining out. He delivered that and so much more. The two young men who assisted him were awesome. They were unobtrusive, considerate, and professional. The meal, absolutely delicious. We enjoyed every last bit. This was not our first visit, nor will it be our last. This was the best possible experience that we could have had and my partner thought the evening was fantastic. He said he was stunned as it far exceeded our expectations. We had a wonderful experience and I am so grateful that Sandro made it happen. Amarone does not disappoint.

Such an amazing find on the Sunset strip! You can taste the quality of ingredients-- which were phenomenal. I started with the beef Carpaccio (which is the best beef carpaccio I've ever had). The thinly sliced beef with parmigiana was the perfect gateway! I chose the Bolognese as my entree and it was so satisfying. I paired this experience with a nice red.

Cute little cozy place. Friendly service and good ambience. Food was good but nothing special and a bit overpriced.

Delicious!! Last night was the first time dining out in over 2 months. I'm so glad we found Amarone. The food and wine were amazing! What a great meal! Everything was just perfect - from the sear octopus to the pastas. We were already so full but still got a panna cota to share. It was perfectly creamy and decadent. We will come back again!

Everything here was delicious. What a hidden gem. It's small, cozy, and cute. Perfect date spot. The bread is fresh baked and stood out for it's unique crunchiness that was a perfect crisp. Try the bread - it's different than any other bread I've had before. The caprese comes out in a unique way but tastes like other good capreses. The pastas were really good. We had a ravioli and a rigatoni and both were tasty and homemade. I would come back. Service was great.

I love Bestia. That's it. That's the review…read more J/k! This is my second time here: last trip was in 2022, where I had the best fig and gorgonzola pizza and bone marrow of ma liiiiiife (in addition to some pasta dishes)! This time, I had six dishes, split with my friends: the fig and gorgonzola pizza (again--why mess with a fave?), the octopus and calamari (surprise hit!), the oxtail ravioli (good--but not my favorite; portion was super small too!), the gnocchi (good, but not amazing), the lamb ragu pici (AMAAAAAAZING!). We also had some beverages; a cellador saison and 2 glasses of red wine. The service and attention is good. I will say that inside the restaurant, it is BUMPING! We are so glad we got a table out on the patio so we could actually converse (inside the restaurant, the music is so loud, you practically have to yell!) If you sit outside, say hi to the family of raccoons on the roof! I will also say, since 2022, this restaurant is now "highly recommended" by the Michelin guide...which has definitely increased its popularity. Somehow, this has translated to much smaller portions though. They encourage sharing "family style" with friends, but the portions are so small, you really only get a few bites from the pasta dishes before it's all gone! (The pizza is at least bigger). So, while Bestia is fantastic, prepare to order a lot more to be truly full and spend at least $100 per person. For all 6 dishes, drinks, and tax (without tip) our total for 3 people was $250.01.

Honestly if it wasn't late already we will not be dining here with that attitude. Our server on the other hand was absolutely welcoming and amazing. My kid was cold outside, she offered to let us sit inside instead, we didn't really want to wait longer so she brought us a blanket. That was so very nice of her. The music in this place was insanely loud. Honestly had my ears ringing 20 mins after I left the restaurant. Food was great. Grilled Branzino was great with the pine nuts. Total perfection. Saffron pici was my favorite. Lamb ragu is soft and flavorful. Dessert We had the chocolate tart and strawberry crostata, love both of them. For 3 adults and 1 kid including tip around $400. It's great for the quality of the food. But not sure if I want to go through the seating situation again. So all in all, maybe once in a blue moon, we will be back.

Not too big of a dining room, but not cramped either. Even though the atmosphere was very busy, it wasn't rushed. Big shoutout to the entire staff especially our server, Emerson, who took amazing care of us! 1000/10 From the moment we entered & throughout our whole experience there, we received amazing, great vibes & hospitality. Everyone was so kind & welcoming. We were greeted & offered drinks as soon as we got seated. He explained the menu very well, was always on top of everything, and kept a positive attitude. Even though it was super busy, we never had to flag anyone down. Our dirty dishes were cleared off the table when done. The food came out not long after we put our order in. We got: Garlic Bread 1000/5 - THE STAR OF THE SHOW. I love sourdough & garlic bread so this was literally the best thing on earth! Came out nice & warm. Crust was crunchy with a soft, moist interior and extraaa garlic in every bite - it was heaven. The cheese on top was a bonus touch. Fusilli alla Vodka 4/5 - Not spicy. Tasted like an extremely creamy mac n cheese. I wouldn't say it's overhyped because it's really good, however there's nothing special about it. (I'm not a big pasta person so maybe that's why) Linguini & Clams 1000/5 - BEST THING EVER. Very well executed - every bite was so creamy & savory. The broth was phenomenal. If you love clams, you'll love this! (I wonder if there's an option to add extra clams?) Chicken Parm 4/5 - The texture, the flavor, & marinara at the bottom was delicious. Cheese was perfectly melted. Tiramisu 1000/5- Every layer was nice & moist. Not bitter, not overly sweet. Just perfect. One of the best tiramisus I've ever had! Was celebrating my birthday so Emerson was kind enough to add a candle + a warm greeting Overall, will definitely be back Worth reserving a month ahead on Resy!
