I can't say enough about the quality of the food, drinks, and service at Locanda. We needed a special place for a wedding luncheon, and our initial choice of restaurant wasn't available-and now I'm glad, because we found a gem of a place! Upon hearing this was a special occasion lunch, the owner/manager Giovanni, worked with us to create a custom, 4-course menu, complete with a personalized menu card and choice of seating location. Each course was more incredible than the last, and their drinks are not only beautiful, they are delicious. This was my first time at this restaurant and in Livermore after a day of shopping at the outlets. What started out as a nice dinner turned into one of the worst dining experiences I've had. I sat at the bar and ordered a glass of wine and a salmon salad. A couple sat directly behind me at a table. The Serena Williams tennis match was on. My salad came, which was over cooked and the greens were not fresh, and I struck up a conversation with the couple. The match was exciting and we cheered when Serena won. Unbeknownst to us, this apparently disturbed other patrons who asked to be moved away from us. As I was getting ready to leave, I did a quick party trick of a car alarm, and was approached by the manager who stated he had enough of us and that we were making other customers leave. I got my check and was prepared to leave. The couple spoke with the manager who was getting loud and pretty aggressive. He refused to listen to the gentleman and insisted on apologizing to me. I offered him the opportunity stating that while we may have been celebrating we were not anymore loud than the table of women who wanted to move or the music playing in the restaurant. The only difference was this couple happened to be the only Black people in the restaurant. The manager proceeds to lose his mind, yelling at me, telling me I better apologize or I will never be able to step foot in the restaurant again. Mind you I never once raised my voice. He was belligerent and aggressive. Needless to say, I would never give my money to this restaurant again. In response to the management, you all had a problem long before my "party trick" so using that as a justification to how I was treated is a cop out. In response to my returning to your restaurant, I would rather sit on my couch and guzzle A bottle of Little Penguin merlot and stuff my face with Funyuns than ever set foot in your establishment again. read more

This place is our new favorite in Livermore. It's says it's a wine bar and the wine selection is very good but we come for the small plates and appetizers. The tapenade they serve with the bread is amazing and I could make a whole meal out just that alone. Don't miss the lasagna! Its incredible with too many thin layers of pasta to count. read more

I've been to this location twice. The first time by accident looking for a shorter wait and some outside seating. While we did end up inside because of the chill we really liked it. The second time, today, we had a group of 7 for brunch, wanted outside, and didn't want to wait an hour and a half. We decided to give this a try and were welcomed the minute we walked up and got a great seat in the patio area. All our food was awesome. The omelettes were huge, panini was fabulous, everyone liked the food. What has got me writing this review though is the service. It reminds me of a time when people gave a crap about such things. They provided a high level of attention, were thoughtful and courteous. P.S. They all seem to have a legit accent. I'd be fine if it turned out to be like actors or something with that kind of service. read more

Just what Livermore needed, Locanda Wine Bar a breath of Fresh air. It's a great place to meet up with my girlfriends, have a few cocktails, have dinner or appetizers from their spectacular Menu. The drinks are delicious, they have an excellent wine list, all of the food we ordered was fabulously as well as the desserts. Went here with another couple and employee (guy with white spiked hair)at hostess stand outside didn't even welcome us in a friendly voice, he literally said "so do you have a reservation?", to which we replied " no we don't"... then he looked past us at a couple who walked up behind us and asked them the same thing. They said yes, so he walked them to their table. He ignored us. He sat them at their table and vanished. Rude! We have gone to three other Locando's and never ever been treated like that. Shocked. Not a great experience. Greeted with "Do you even have a reservation?" We did indeed, but did not feel very welcomed. Wanted to try many items on the menu but it took 45 minutes to get two appetizers. They were apologetic and brought a third appetizer. The kitchen might be too small to serve their customers. After an hour waiting with our wine we did not get a chance to try any other items. It was a bad night and hope our poor experience was an an exception for their customers. read more

This review is long overdue. I've had the pleasure of two amazing lunch experiences at Locanda in Livermore now. From the phone call to make the reservations, to being seated, served and presented with our bill, their hospitality is top notch. It's like I've travelled to Italy. The renovations they have done at their location (formerly Blue Bar) are outstanding. They have done a beautiful job with the space. Don't expect huge portions - as each item on their menu is appropriate for a long, leisurely experience suited for multiple courses. Cocktails, olive tapenade and bread, salads, fish and deserts were all excellent. Prices are on par with many other restaurants in downtown Livermore. I can't wait to go back for patio dining once the new park opens up next door! P.S. They also have Gluten Free options and were helpful navigating the menu to find options that were safe for me to eat. read more

Great, lively vibe sitting outside on the patio. Our server was prompt, friendly and very helpful. Two of us ordered the lobster ravioli which was excellent, great flavor and an ample amount. The only complaint is that when our food came out, three of the dishes were warm, not hot and the fourth one (chicken parmesan) was pretty cold. They apologized, reheated the dish and it was fine, but all of the dishes could have been hotter. Other than that, we really enjoyed the food, atmosphere and service. read more

This restaurant has a sister in Danville and Pleasanton. They also have great food and great personal and authentic Italian service personnel. From the drinks to the desserts everything is spot on and delicious. You can not go wrong with any of their restaurants including this wine bar in Livermore which is a great addition to the downtown. Food is mediocre and the drinks are ok but way too expensive compared to to other places.

Been here twice so far. My experiences have both just been OK. The service was lacking both times. On my second visit, we were seated and it took 15 minutes for someone to take our drink order. When our drinks arrived about 20 minutes later, the waitress said she'd be back to take our dinner orders. Another twenty minutes went by without her coming back, although she did tend to the other tables around us. I kept trying to make eye contact but to no avail. I finally had to get up and go inside to ask for our waitress so we could order. Places are understaffed, I get it. I don't expect amazing service. But 45 minutes to take our food order while other tables around us were being served more quickly was a bit much. The food is good, but the portions are very small. Don't come here hungry unless you plan to order several items. I love the potential of this place. It has a great location (once the construction next door is finished) and ambiance. A wine bar/restaurant of this type is a great addition to downtown Livermore. I'm sure I'll try them again, and hopefully the service will be better. read more

This was not my first visit at Locanda, been here several of times. Not sure what changed or maybe just a bad night. We went here for dinner over the weekend.. the service was super slow but even that wouldn't be a problem if we didn't pay $150 at leave the restaurant hungry!!! Their food portions are sooooo small now.. I mean their portions were almost insulting! My husband and I were still starving when we left Locanda. I don't even eat much, I'm 5'2, I weight 125lbs so I don't need large portions of food but I'd like to leave at least satisfied! I ordered the lobster ravioli and there was literally 5 small pieces of ravioli that was barely filled with anything! I can see if they used larger raviolis but they use small raviolis and give you 5 for a whopping $30!! My husband ordered the fish and it was little, small pieces of grilled burnt fish sitting on his plate, the sides were maybe a half a cup of carrots and a cup of potatoes. OUTRAGEOUS!! We ordered 2 of the focaccia bread, the bread was same size of a piece of toast cut into 5 pieces for $3.50 per order! My husband is 5'11 and he was still starving! I understand inflation is high but if you're going to raise your prices then you shouldn't cut your portion size. Totally unacceptable. I'm still leaving 3 stars because the lobster ravioli was good, not the best but the sauce was good. Plus we like to continue to support our community and small businesses but if the owner of this place is reading this review , please be fair and have consideration for people who take their time to support your business, your customers are also feeling inflation. although I don't blame you for raising prices, I ask you to at least give fair portions that will leave your customers satisfying and not disappointed! read more

It has been quite some time since we were there and I must say the food is still very tasty and the wines excellent.
