Haven't been to Lodi pizza probably over ten years. Was in the area and ordered some dinner for the family. Called and ordered two scillian and a cheese calzone. Ordered both well done and they were cooked to perfection. The calzone was the best I had in a really long time. It was overstuffed with ricotta and mozzarella. The side of tomato sauce was cooked to perfection with all the right spices. The scillian was also very tasty and perfectly well done. The sauce on the pizza was fresh and tasty. The only memory of the pizza from the past was I thought it was a little thicker. But I guess I had three thinner slices instead of two thicker. Just remember that this establishment is cash only which wasn't a problem with me. There is a reason why they have been open for so many years. This is probably one of my favorite pizza places in the area. They have been around since I was a kid and they never disappoint! If you're looking for good quality pizza than you're at the right place. The pizza is old school jersey pizza which is the best kind in my opinion. I ordered a margarita and a pepperoni pizza to go. In total both pies came out to $33.00. The margarita was $18.00 and the pepperoni was $15.00. The pies have a lot of flavor and their pepperoni was real! The only thing that I wasn't a fan of was that the margarita had a lot of fresh mozzarella on it and I prefer it to be more saucey. Overall, I highly recommend! The only downside is that it's CASH ONLY! I find that to be an inconvenience. (They have an ATM on site but I'm not going to pay the fee to take out money) read more

Ever since a family member has informed us of this place, it has become our go to location for pizzas. On our 1st visit was over the summer, we ordered a regular pizza to eat there. Last weekend, ordered a take out of their Sicilian pizza with mushroom. It wasn't a bad price of $18. The crust on both pies were just right height as it wasn't too thick or too thin. It's reviews like this that I find particularly difficult to give, but I do endeavor to review with integrity and help people to make informed decisions. The reason it's difficult to me to post a review like this is because the people here were genuinely nice, the service was good, the pricing wasn't bad. The pizza actually gave me indigestion for a while afterwards. Now, please take that with a grain of salt, I do have a bad stomach sometimes. But even at that... this spot came highly recommended, I actually came here a 2nd time because the first time I didn't realize it was cash only. I have been coming to this place for over 40 years. I cannot get enough of their Sicilian pie. It's the best around. Recently tried a meatball parm. I have to say it was pretty good and very large I can't say I wouldn't appreciate an update. The place looks exactly as it did 40 years ago and could use a physical cleaning and painting so I usually take out The dining area is small and cramped and there is an extra dining area that was always open years ago but is closed off for some reason. Please give us some extra space and we may stay in, eat and bring more people. No room now! If this place ever closed all of Lodi would be in mourning read more

Listen, I am from Massachusetts. My Mother grew up in Lodi. Every time I would visit my Grandmother (ave a) this was the absolute highlight of my time in New Jersey. Every time i think about Pizza, it is instantly Lodi Pizza. I compare every single slice to Lodi Pizza, and nothing can even hold a dime to it. Haven't been here in years but with social media booming and groups like jersey pizza joints on Facebook posting all pizza places and hearing good things about Lodi pizza I had to go back. I hear they are known for the Sicilian so I got regular and Sicilian. And the verdict. The regular slice wins hands down. The Sicilian is average at best 6.7 the regular would be 8.5. Was looking for a place to grab a few slices and I definitely found it...this place has phenomenal pizza. I ordered 1 plain slice and 1 white slice. Another one that makes me scratch my head in my local area so let's talk about it. Had this one a few weeks ago and got a Sicilian slice and a chicken parm sandwich to try some variety. Now the food wasn't terrible by any means but i did find the pizza just ok at best and sandwich was stuffed but also pretty boring/nothing special. The sauce which basically make pizza and sandwiches like this amazing is what failed me, I could easily make a better pot of sauce at my house, it was just bland to me. I've had much worse but much better as well. Cash only but they do have an ATM if you don't have any on you. As i continue my search for a pizza place in NJ comparable to NYC, my wife suggested this place as it has been there forever and is always mobbed, although she's never eaten there. We park out front, see some nice table outside. We enter, the place is a DUMP! Lysol? Bleach? Windex? all foreign words i'm sure to this crew. I order 3 regular slices & 1 olive slice for the 2 of us. The pizza looked like it was sitting there the better part of 9 days and the best part, the guy runs out of regular slices, reaches under the table to a pan sitting knee high on top of the "take out" boxes and pulls up another pie. They may as well have put it on the floor. I AM SO AGGRAVATED AT THE PIZZA PLACES I'VE COME ACROSS SO FAR IN MY AREA. I HAVE YET TO SEE AN OUNCE OF ATTENTION PAID TO SANITARY CONDITIONS OR ANY DETAILS FOR THAT MATTER. He throws the slices in the oven, they come out and although the slices are small and considering the way they looked pre-oven, they don't look too bad. We take them outside and sit, my wife said the olive slice tasted really old, the crust was hard to chew. Honestly, the regular slices weren't bad, maybe bc i was really hungry, not sure, but they weren't good yet they were a little better than okay. This spot got 15 minutes of fame years back when filmed on the Sopranos - Tony shown eating at a table outside. Try the Italian sub - you'll agree it's the best bread you've ever had for a sub sandwich - bread directly from an old Italian bakery in Newark. Nice. You know you've made it when the producers of "The Soprano's" decide to shoot on location at your restaurant. Lodi Pizza is an institution and should be visited at least once by anyone who was raised in Jersey. I hadn't been here since I was in high school so I figured now was a good a time as any to stop in again. The cheese slice was very good. I prefer my pizza well done and that's exactly how it was served. 2 slices plus a small soda totaled $4.80. They serve Coke products here but if you want canned Yoo-hoo, they can accommodate that request as well. I really liked the ambiance of the place. There's an 80's picture on the wall of people that either used to work there or eat there all the time that had me cracking up. It definitely encapsulates Jersey during that period.
