I would usually come here after going to Garden Cafe--you know because after all the milk tea I drank in there I needed more milk tea. BOBA milk tea ;). I try to get more of a fruity drink, like the passionfruit green tea, or sometimes peach snow bubble--like I always say about lollicup, they really know how to market their product! They always come up with promotions--for a while they had buy one get one ice cream and I think I was always here for that...shh...I'm fat. They have good beverages and all. However, just like most store they succumbed to the challenge of bad economy. Their to go boba cup went really flimsy and thin. I bought my favorite taro milk tea w/ boba. And normally I would be very satisfied, but this time, the cup has a thin slit in the side before I even put my straw in it. The whole entire large cup filled w/ taro milk tea exploded in my house. Very very disappointed. This is not the first time either. With the happy hour deal gone and a more expensive price per cup I was expecting a good quality thicker cup, but none of that. I would rather pay an extra few dimes to get a sturdier cup than what they have now. I don't know if there's gonna be a next time. I love this Lollicup because they offer my Milk Tea Boba with Less Sugar so it's not so sweet. The only thing I ever get from here is MTB. I've had boba from many places, but this is my basis for all boba. Parking can be a pain in the ass. I refuse to park in their "structure" because the spots are so small, and no one gives a damn if you are trying to back out, or pull in. For anyone who loves the Dole Whip at Disneyland, I assure you that Lollicup's version of it is pretty darn close. They top it with pineapple chunks and coconut mochi, however, so if you don't want those make sure you say so when ordering. I called a couple different times before heading out to Alhambra to ask if the Dole Whip had dairy in it. The employees I talked to had no idea. When I got there, I saw a huge banner above the door advertising the Dole Whip and it said "Lactose Free." Guess they don't read their own signs. Dole Whip... yippee!!! Taking a star off for the clueless employees and the terrible setup of the place. The flow is all wrong. All the customers get in each other's way. The new renovated Lollicup Fresh is the same but with a cuter interior. Their drinks are still really yummy, and they have cheap meals like curry chicken rice and popcorn chicken snack bags. They also allow you to choose your sugar level for your drinks which is awesome!! I always ask for 50% sugar because they usually make the drinks here too sweet. So the 50% is just perfect for me. The new bar style settings are perfect for those who want to do work here. They have outlets at every seat!! Super convent!!! The new lighting is good on the eyes as well, it's way brighter now. I don't know about you, but off yellow lighting makes me feel sleepy and tired. Parking is convent. There's two story for their parking lot. read more

Arguably the busiest Lollicup I've been to, not sure why... aren't they all the same? it could be the location or just a mental thing for me... for some reason it taste the best to me. Anyhow, it's somewhat of a typical boba joint but they got tons of other selections of drinks and food. These boba establishments are getting creative with their drinks... digging into Starbucks frapaccino styled drinks. The regular boba milk tea is pretty good and also tried the new Japanese red bean sorta drink... it was good too but a bit on the sweet side. Customer service was great for a asian "restaurant" and the drinks were good. Just a warning though... it does get very busy in here. Everyone brings a laptop because they do offer wi-fi service (I think it's free too) but there's usually a line to order... just a heads up. read more

Came here two times. First time coming here was okay. I was with my friends. I tried this Strawberry Green Tea drink that they have (I think that's what it was called) while my friends tried some other Green Tea drinks. Second time coming here was a fantastic experience. Got this BOGO free deal from their FiveStar program. I ordered their Potted Plant Milk Tea (similar to Macchiato), it was yummy. Their popcorn chicken did not disappoint. Dip it with the ranch sauce (personal fav) was the bomb. The cashier was great. She clarified everything for me and was very easygoing. This is exactly how customer service should be like. I didn't know I am allowed to get a refill on any drinks (not just the one that you just finished) for 30% off. I got the Coconut Smoothie and it was yummy. Free Wifi, but it is ehh. Just kind of slow. A number of indoor seatings. Fresh A/C. Good place to study. It may be as the same tier as Tapioca Express and not like the "premium" boba joints such as Half & Half, Honeyboba, Macchiato, Ozero, or those type of places, but dayum this tea store blew the waters out of me. I've been coming to this Lollicup (Alhambra) for a while now, and it seemed like a cool place, but I never actually came to study, until recently. Well, let me just say, that it was awful!!! - The wifi is almost nonexistent; says free, but it's so spotty, that it's not even worth the effort. - They had their music tv on so loud that i could hear it from outside; furthermore, the satellite signal kept breaking in & out, and they didnt even bother to turn it off. - When I tried to order some food & a drink, there was no one there, so I stood in a line of 3 people, waiting for someone. 5 minutes had past when the 2 other people I befriended in line decided to just forget it. So I sat down at my table, and right then, the 2 employees walked through the door! They had been outside smoking!! I normally wouldn't complain this much about a place I didn't like, but the experience was so terrible that I felt it fair to give fair warning to people. read more

Lollicup - another ubiquitous boba cafe in the San Gabriel Valley. I had their Shaved Ice with grass jelly, conjac, and condensed milk. The conjac and grass jelly were a little too chewy for my liking. The shaved ice had good texture though. But overall it just didn't have that kick that you get from a really good shaved ice. This place seems like a popular late night study spot for students. The noise level is moderate. Nice interior design for a boba cafe. Think cozy Asian/Ikea fusion. I've seen those wooden framed mirrors somewhere before. The snake lights on the ceiling have been done to death. The flatscreen tvs play chinese music videos create Asia. Dear Lollicup, How the F**K do you screw up an ice coffee boba? Like really..Its just cold coffee, add a little sugar and dump in the boba and ice yo! Ya'll screwed it up with a lukewarm cup, some okay tasting boba and some bitter @$$ watered down coffee when I specifically said 1 tsp of sugar in it. Tell your worker at the counter to learn some ENGLISH because this is the USA F**KTARD! Be happy because my friend and I were your customers for 20 minutes of our day, but never again! I go here semi often and 6/10 times my drinks taste diluted or too sweet. Today I ordered a rose milk tea and my drink was pretty damn good. The barista gave me a little cup of the leftover as well and I was surprised by the quality. The pricing is decent but it's cash only, which is a little inconvenient but if that's a problem it's literally right next to Tapioca Express which does accept card. However, lollicup has fivestars and a little more promotions than Tapioca Express too. (I used a buy 1 get 1 free today and previously I also got a free drink on my birthday.) I went to-go this time but it's a decent place for studying since there is good lighting and tons of plugs and wifi. It can get a bit loud though and it's always a little cramped because there isn't much walkway to accommodate the amount of seating. I bought the Amazon Local voucher for Lollicup Coffee & Tea in Alhambra ($5 for $10). So my son and I went there and bought 2 large Thai iced tea with boba and 1 regular baked milk green tea with boba. My son had the Thai iced tea with boba. He loved it. He said it's the best. The boba was very good and had sweet taste to it. I agree with him. The texture of the boba was nice and chewy. I tried his Thai iced tea, and agreed that it was very good, not too sweet and not watery. The milk green tea was just ok to me. I won't order it again. I might try Taro milk tea next time. Oh I noticed they have Happy Hour buy 1 get 1 free for select drinks from 5 pm to 8 pm. Also you can get taro milk tea for $1 from 1 pm to 4 pm if I remember correctly. I will be returning to this place. You pay 35 cents for boba. Oh just remember that there's a drink truck in front Hawaii market that sells all kinds of drinks with boba for $1.25. PFGT was really good but kinda sweet(I am not much of a sweet tooth) HGMT was good just how I like it, not too sweet and satisfied my boba need The calamari is consistent with other lollicups, if you havent tried it you should. This place has been here for a while and they are okay for what they are. Definitely bigger and cleaner than some other Lollicups around, but it's still a chain store. Like I said in the Half & Half review, all the boba cafe joints taste similar to me because none have anything that stands out to me as some wonderful awesome mouth dropping gotta drink it before you die beverage. True, some places get very creative with all the combos and ingredients, but really... when you have half the produce section along with 7 exotic fruits and condensed milk, almond jello, burnt jelly, lemon jelly, pudding, tapioca, crushed pine nuts, a twinkie, sawgrass, protein powder, fish eye balls, iguana nail clippings, beard from an old Afghani, and whipped cream all blended into one 20 oz. serving, you don't get much of the drink anymore... it's just one big coagulated mess that is about 31,584 calories per serving and gives you that big vein on your forehead that pops out when you try to suck this concoction that is the consistency of tar through a straw. Then you get to eat the generic tea house food like popcorn chicken which is too salty and garlicky and makes your burp as deadly as a Class IV biochemical weapon of mass destruction. At least the price is okay here though so you can indulge your taste buds. The one thing about this location is that the front of this place off Valley is always lined with cars straight out of the backdrop of Fast N Furious. I've been coming here for years, a lot of my friends have worked here and I'll continue to come by as long as they're around. This place gets pretty busy sometimes, and for good reason. The food is tasty, and the drinks are amazing. I have fairly simple tastes and their Winter Melon Juice is my favorite, with an occasional Oreo Smoothie here and there. I went last week and asked Lisa for a recommendation. I described to her what flavors I liked and she helped me decide on a grapefruit green tea. I though it was a wild combination, but it turned out to be a great fit for me and I loved it. This place is not too bad. I came here on Independence Day since well..it's Asian and they don't close for American holidays. They stayed open until 1am. The wait for the drinks are not that long and the price ain't that bad. I ordered 5 drinks and it cost me $17 which to me ain't that bad. I came here with 5 other cousins and we had plenty of room to sit as they weren't too busy. They repeat back the order to make sure what you order is correct, which is considerate of them. If you want some cheap legit Boba Milk Tea (specifically this drink). Get it here. It's never water-ed down and they are pretty much consistent with the Milk Tea. Not too sweet, but not too milky. Still a place for people to "study" or surf the web with their laptops/Ipads/Itouch/Samsung NOTE 1,2,3,4 haha or even just catching up with their friends. They don't really play loud asian music videos anymore.. or at least the times I've been there recently. I believe they still have their Happy Hour or $1.00 menu but you may have to double check on that. They should really update their magazines, because it's getting really old. haha. Popcorn chicken is still good here.. they give you a pretty good amount to share. Workers are generally nice, not rude at all. You just order and they give you your drink. That's about it. This is the closest tea house to my home. It's kind of small so I don't come here to study, just drop by and get a lemon green/black tea. The lemon black tea really surprised me!!! The staff can speak Chinese and really nice. And they only receive cash. The price here is really reasonable which is maybe due to the strong competition in this area. They all can make great boba or tea but in a really nice price. HAHA... The Taiwanese music here is kind of old but has a different kind of feeling : ) read more
