I decided to stop in here on my way home from work. It wasn't too busy and the menu posted outside looked promising. I was really impressed with the tacos, especially El Dorado. The tacos were delicious and tasted fresh, I would give the food a solid 4 star rating on its own. The reason I bumped it up to 5 was because of the service, the guy who helped me was so nice. My food was ready quickly and brought to me promptly, with napkins. The young man who brought it, noticed that I had ridden my bike there and brought me back some water unrequested, as I had forgotten to order a drink. Food is great. But the staff he has working right now is an absolute joke. Service is horrible. Employees last year were way better. I literally walked in, listened to the lady talk on the phone while I was standing at the front counter until I finally just walked out. AND, I was the only customer in the build. Yum! I tried the Barbacoa taco & the Gilley Fish Tacobith with flour tortillas. The Barbacoa was delicious!!! The fish was pretty good. The only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is because the place so hot. The guy said the air was on but it just couldn't keep up with the Texas sunset boarding through the front windows. These might quite possibly the best tacos I have ever had in the U.S. So why 4 stars and not 5? The only reason is the portion for the price (but don't let that deter you from eating here). Before I tried Texas Taco Company I was a typical Torchy's fanboy. Don't get me wrong, Torchy's is still great... TTC is just better. While they are both very similarly priced ($3.50-$4.50 each), you definitely get bigger portions at Torchy's. That being said, I'd still pick Texas Taco Company 9/10 times. The place is clean, the staff is friendly and the food is fresh. If this is your first time, do yourself a favor and get the chips and queso. It's a little pricey (at $4.50 it's more the the average taco) but it's worth every penny. read more

Love coming here and food is great! Just tried the Yankee taco on a whim and it was fabulous! Got my order to go but by the time I got it to the car it smelled so good I ate it in the parking lot. Staff has always been courteous and prompt. Bathroom is clean which is a huge plus! Bathrooms tell a lot about a place and how much they do or don't care. First, let me say I really liked the taste of the food. However, I'm an order picker upper for the family person. It's near us. It's right next door to two really good Mexican restaurants. It's better for simple. Now the negatives: Order taker girl-don't veer off the menu or she has LOTS of body language:heavy sighing. Also, even though I told her I was ordering and going to Kroger and coming back to pick up, it came out as "table". On to PART TWO-got back from Kroger-younger girl delivering from tables (she's keeping the place in business!!!! Feel bad for her. Not sure the cook speaks English AND as to earlier posts-she does NOT wear gloves but others do! Kinda gross. If I was. I didn't get anything but a receipt when I left for K. When I gave the young girl my receipt, obviously bc I was sitting there, noticed they didn't make it to go so they repacked everything. read more

So we found this place by mistake and I'm so glad we came here. First off, the breakfast is amazing!! Holy cow- it's so good. The chorizo, bacon or potato taco is fire! The sampler was really good. The best though was the carnitas. Talk about mouth watering, moist and tender like OMG cum in your pants good. I about lost my shit when I took the first bite. First time here and last time here. I understand people are doing their best during these trying times and businesses are struggling. It would do this business quite well to have someone who can actually enter the order in as it is written. Ordered 7 tacos this morning and only ONE was correct. And these were basic tacos. None of those fancy ones with multiple ingredients. Also specified two needed to be on corn and none of the seven were on corn. Two of my tacos that were ordered with egg well I had to cook my own eggs to put in my tacos because all the had was beans in them. Completely incompetent! Ordered the Chorizo, Egg, and Cheese breakfast tacos. They were good and had the right amount of spice. I tried their salsa and thought it was ok. I think the salsa would have been better on a taco without chorizo. Th flavor of the Chorizo and salsa didn't blend. The food was good, but the service was a little hectic. My taco was great, and won't be opposed to going back in the future. My friend and I ordered separate to go orders. They brought her order out as if we were dining in and tried to give it to 3 different tables before realizing we were waving them down. They took it back and wrapped it up to go. My order came out as a to go order, but was attempted to give to a different table twice before I was finally able to get their attention. I only just heard about this place which has been open since April 2013. It is apparently the second store in a small Texas franchise that began in the Baytown area. The vibe is very positive, and the place is busy at lunch, a good sign for any restaurant. The facility is cozy, and I found the staff friendly and accommodating. You order at the front, and the food is presented to you via a number that you place on your table. Time to delivery from order was less than 10 minutes. I ordered four tacos and a soft drink and the tab came to $18.54. I posted pictures of the tacos, and would recommend The Waylon and The Willie in particular. The Willie was a little salty, and The Gilley Fish was slightly picante, but neither a deal breaker. Overall, this met the expectations that I had after having looked at the menu online. I would recommend you at least consider one visit. I think it will not be your only one. But you be the judge! read more

Service sucked there were a bunch of young guys working there probably highschoolers, and their main focus was making sure their friends were well taken care of while they kept forgetting our order. cool looking place. the food was good, but over priced be prepared to pay about $5 bucks for a basic taco. Loved these tacos! The portions are large and worth the price. I had the fried shrimp and beef fajita tacos. The shrimp were large and the beef was delicious. My daughter had the grilled chicken tacos and she liked hers as well. The service can be a bit surly and it's cramped inside.
