My hubby and 2 friends had a wonderful time! We went in the evening so we could enjoy the Xmas lights and decor. No prior ability needed. It was super easy and fast to learn. It's very very hard to be off balance, if that's a worry. Only hiccup was that the chain came off my bike and I couldn't put it back on since it was slippery from the oil. But our instructor, Nate, came to my rescue and literally pulled me through the entire tour! Technically, I got a free ride and show, while relaxing. I had to give him a Xmas tip for that. Customer service: Amazing!!! So friendly and offered hot coco and cookies and water. Also, Nate was awesome!!! Tip: Grab a hot coco and a water...there are 2 cup holders on each bike. Stretch your quads and hamstrings prior, such as lunges...your legs will thank me. Overall: Will do again next year! read more

This is a great exercise to do and the owners are very conscientious toward the weather and if you're going to have a good time. The first time on the water is a nice calf/thigh burner but it's a ton of fun and really gets your heart pumping because you'll want to see more and be in the center of the water - all while being on a very strong, durable, inflated water bicycle that WON'T sink! Wear a jacket just in case you end up getting capsized - but the odds are slim unless you're trying some crazy acrobatic poses. :) Price is $25/person/hour and that's well worth the experience you get. You'll see boats cruising by, paddle surfers, kayakers, and get up close and personal with boats docked and people walking by. It's a really fun experience. It's one of my personal experiences to do by myself or with other people. And you have plenty of eating options afterward too! read more

I love this service. $25/hr for each bike. It's absolutely amazing. I found this activity on Yelp and it's one of the best experiences I had in my life. Not even exaggerating. Around the time period that I came here, I was experiencing some negative things in my life and my heart just felt sooo heavy. I came here thinking this will be fun and I was not disappointed a tiny bit. My friend and I decided to arrive at 5:30 because the sunset during that time of the year was around 6PM. The boy who was in charge of the service at that time told us it sets around 8 PM and I trusted myself so I decided to ride at the time we arrived. I was right. When we were back and in the car at 7 PM, the sun was already gone. So we were done with the ride at 6:30 PM and were able to catch the beautiful sunset. The boys who work there were really helpful and nice. When we got back, he said we could've stayed a bit longer, there was no rush. We literally tried to make it back on time within an hr because we respect the rules but they were extremely cool. The ride back was a bit rough because the waves were riding against us. Ok during the ride though, the view was spectacular. The ocean is so calming and it really gave me a sense of tranquility. My heart felt so light afterwards, it was like I became free. I honestly recommend people coming here for stress relief. So worth it. They also let you borrow a Bluetooth speaker attached to bike (you can ask for one) so you can play your own music. That's the most relaxing part because I get to play sad songs while my friend and I simp (AKA vent out our emotions). So yeah, beautiful place. Would 10/10 recommend and come again :) read more

I booked it for 4:30pm but with traffic I realized we werent going to make it so I called in and asked if the could change out time for 6pm they were so kind enough to do so no extra charge. The gentleman that helped us were very knowledgeable and over all extremely generous. This was my sons first experience doing something like this as for me as well and I'm just glad we were able to make memories together. Come to find out there is a fine for flipping the bikes and it's almost impossible. The entire thing was AWESOME. You can stay off on your own while still following the leader to the cute little Venetian area. Super romantic. Only reason I'm giving 4 stars is because of my choice to go late at night, I wanted to experience the glow bikes at night but I just went too late around 8/9 pm. I couldn't really see much as I was trying to steer my bike around the marina and felt like I had gotten lost a few times. I'm sure if I went earlier maybe 5/6 during sunset hours it would've been perfect! Overall it was a great experience from beginning to end I even saw a sea lion swim next to me! Hate to have to say anything bad since it seemed like such a nice visit... There was only a couple people here for the 9pm ride so the instructors said there was no need for a tour. Gave us "detailed" instructions and let us go on our own. Unfortunately we couldn't find the entrance to the lights, Walkie talkied the instructors to see which way to go and they said we passed the entrance. So we peddled back looking for it and never ever found it. After so much peddling back and forth we were by the start point and just went back. We told the instructors that we couldn't find it and got a "awe I'm sorry, well you can drive there and look at the lights too. A lot of people do that." Sorry man, I paid $80 dollars to see lights that I never saw, if I would've wanted to drive there I'd have done it for free. Just expected a partial refund, a "free ride next time" or something. But instead a "oh sorry about that, just drive there on your own and look" ? Nah, not cool. Not satisfied. Overall just disappointed. If it's so hard to find the entrance there should have been a guide no matter how many people there were there. Filed a chargeback with my bank for the whole thing. I booked this excursion for date night and since it's my boyfriends first time to Cali - I thought he would enjoy it. He absolutely LOVED IT. The staff was friendly and very informative. The location was nice, the bikes themselves seem like they could've been better manufactured. Being on the shorter side of things (4'11) it wasn't a very comfortable experience. I had a bruise from the bike seat for the next two days and it was hard to sit down. My boyfriend, however, thoroughly enjoyed it and while riding the bikes it seemed as though his was gliding across the water where as I was barely moving. I was really looking forward to hydro-biking since there aren't a lot of activities we can do during COVID-19 times. Unfortunately, I wished we had just stayed at home. The whole thing didn't start off well. I had assumed they practiced good safety protocols in regards to the coronavirus. However, when you check in, you have to sign a waiver and there's only 1-2 pens that are used by everybody that checks in. We asked if they had hand sanitizer and they did not so we went back to our car to use our own. Just a minor nuisance. You're also required to keep your drivers license on file which made me a little nervous because they lost the DL of the people before us. They seemed very disorganized. When we were ready to get on our bikes, one of the guys working there reassured us that the bikes had been disinfected and went on to explain how to use them. Another couple just returned so they parked their bikes. How it's set up, you have to use the last ones in. He then asked us to get on those bikes and I pointed out that they haven't been disinfected (which makes me to wonder if any bikes are disinfected). He looked super annoyed and walked away and sent another guy to disinfect and get us on our bikes. Unlike the previous guy who gave us attitude, the guy who disinfected the bikes was super nice and I wish I remembered his name b/c he deserves praise. As for the actual hydro-biking experiencing, it wasn't fun at all. It was so much work just to go a short distance. Reminded me of those surrey bikes at the beach that look way more fun than they actually are. We ended up not even using our full hour because we decided our time was better spent doing something else. UPDATE 8/26/20: The owner Melissa reached out to me and thanked me for the constructive criticism and refunded back our money. It was a pleasant surprise and I really appreciated her good customer service. I also appreciate her prompt response to immediately fix the problems I mentioned. Went in a group of 4. Made reservations online where you had to pay ahead of time. We took a day ride, $25 per person for an hour ride. Didn't get wet at all, your shoes might get splashed. The front of the bike has a storage area for anything in your pockets, it will keep it dry and safe. Super fun with no threat of tipping over.
