Located in a plaza, I decided to come here late morning during the week. It was at about 30% capacity and I was greeted immediately upon entering. The star of the show was the exemplary service, they were so catering and answered all questions I had. Breakfast and other food options are available but I decided to go with the 2x2x2. The nice touch was I couldn't decide to get pancakes or French toast as my option and they offered one of each which I have never been offered such a choice before which I appreciated greatly. Stopped in for brunch on a Saturday. Service was quick and efficient and food came out pretty quick even with a busy restaurant. What a yummy spot! It was quiet when we came in but the food packed a punch. We ordered food to go. Inside had an old diner feel to it & staff was friendly and helped explain the menu. To eat we had the following: Sausage Egg & Cheese on a Kaiser Roll: it is just the sandwich does not come with any sides you do have to purchase it for extra. The sandwich was big for the size which is good since it does fill you up. The sausage was juicy which is great. Husband really enjoyed it. Veggie Omelette: I chose home fries well done and whole wheat toast. Now this veggie omelette was the real deal. They really put a lot of veggies into it which is great. Every bite had a veggie in it and the size is huge! The picture does not do it justice. The potatoes were amazing they did not have an oily taste and was nice and crispy. This place has all the best traits, great selection, reasonable prices, good service, and great tasting food. I feel like this is a three and a half star place that could be four stars. The one thing I really liked about this place is that it is kept very clean. The other thing is the service was good and that its not over priced. Its actually some of the food that could use some help. What I had was very good. What did I have? I had a meat lovers omelet without the pepperoni, oatmeal and rye bread toast. I'm glad I got oatmeal instead of potatoes. Even though it could have used a little salt or the brown sugar, I opted not to use either because it was good by itself. Now what my wife had was another thing. She got two eggs, potatoes and a bialy. A bagel came out ìnstead of a bialy so she had to wait for a bialy to be toasted. In the meantime the eggs got cold. And the potatoes! They needed some serious help! They were mushy, they either needed to be deep fried for a few minutes or cooked longer on the flat top. Oh, when the the bialy came, the cream cheese, we would have gladly payed more for a decent amount of it. OMG... The most AMAZING omelette EVER! I ordered a Baby Spinach Special with egg whites. It had spinach, bacon, sundried tomatoes, onions, and goat cheese. It came with a choice of grits, oatmeal, home fries or tomatoes, and a choice of toast, bagel, or English muffin. I had mine with grits and rye toast. My omelette was absolutely perfect, and it got better and better with every bite. The sundried tomatoes and goat cheese added so much flavor to this omelette. The portions are huge so after I devoured that omelette I didnt have much room for the grits. I literally didnt get hungry again until late afternoon. My friends ordered an omelette, a banana nut pancake, and a cheeseburger and fries and they had no complaints. They left just as satisfied as I was. The wait staff is attentive and friendly. The service is fast and the food is made to order with fresh ingredients always. The prices are very reasonable especially for the large portions they give you. Thanks to Dedra D. This restaurant is a hidden gem and located next to the Brother's Farmer Market we frequent. The staff was very kind, and knew their regulars well which I noticed based on conversation near us. It's always nice to find a spot like that where people are personable and know you. The prices here are also great for families! I ordered the Fresh Baby Spinach Omelette without the sauteed onions. I got grits and an everything bagel as my sides. My omelette was amazing! It had spinach, sun-dried tomatoes, crispy bacon, and lots of amazing, creamy, goat cheese! It was so delicious and plentiful that I took half of it to go and scarfed it down an hour later. My husband had the turkey burger which he enjoyed. One of the kids opted for breakfast and another for lunch. The eggs in the kids breakfast meal were scrambled with cheese added and our son really enjoyed them, but the French Toast wasn't so great. It was a wheat type bread that was very thick and didn't taste like French Toast. You can get pancakes too which we will choose next time if he gets the same meal. The waitress put a table together immediately and we were sat right away. They provided us with the menus which included the kids menu. I noticed right away that this place was cheap and provided lots of food! The service was quick too. I ordered the S1. Which came with two eggs, two slices of bacon, a choice of home fries, and a choice of a bagel or English muffin. I ordered the wheat bagel, that was a really good and fresh bagel. The home fries were good too. I was really happy with my meal. It was cheap and a hearty meal, I was very full afterwards. The kids meals were $2.50 each and came with two large pancakes per dish! Nothing makes me happier in life than finding a great diner and Long Island Café. I needed a place for lunch last week while on a break for some training I was in. I had an hour so I needed to make sure wherever I went would get me back in time. I kept thinking how much I wanted breakfast, specifically an omelet. I pulled up Yelp, found Long Island Café and off I went. Naturally, like everything amazing in Florida, it's tucked away in a strip mall so immediately I felt at home. Inside, the décor and feel is very diner chic; that homely feeling like you're in your Aunt's house. You just sort of feel like you're at home instantly. The place has that greasy spoon smell, which to some may not be a great thing, but to me I know the food is going to be amazing. Lots of art adorn the walls, especially toward the bathroom; nothing really goes together but that really doesn't matter. The waitresses sort of tag-team all of the tables. I don't know who my server actually was because so many different people helped me out when it came to taking my order, getting me a drink and delivering my food. The only drawback and the reason why I didn't give this place 5 -stars was because while I was eating, no one checked on me. I wasn't asked if I wanted a refill until I was done with my meal. This place seems to be a place where there are a lot of regulars. I saw the staff chatting with patrons like they knew them for years, which is cool, but this newbie got thirsty and never got a refill. And I have this irrational fear of choking on my food and not having anything to wash it down with but that's for another time. I ordered the Long Island Omelet. Why wouldn't you order this? It's named after the restaurant so it has to be good, right? Yes, it was amazing. Tons of ricotta cheese, and big hunks of broccoli were inside. Delicious and the portion was huge. The home fries were cooked to perfection and their sesame bagel was toasted just right. I couldn't have been happier with this meal. My husband and I were searching for breakfast spots in the Sunrise area. We tend to end up at chains, but we miss our favorite NY diner in Albany, so we were excited to see that this establishment was rated so highly. We spent 30 years living in Upstate NY, where service at most restaurants was pretty decent. When I say decent, I mean the server actually comes back to see if you need a refill, checks on you to make sure the meal is ok and asks if you need anything else. We spent the last two years in California, LA & Silicon Valley, service at restaurants was generally atrocious. We have discovered that South Florida isn't generally a whole lot better, it's as if people are on island time. Upon arriving at this restaurant, we noticed that the restaurant was a bit on the small side, so you probably want to get here early on a weekend to avoid a long wait. A few tables were empty when we arrived on a Saturday morning around 8:30 AM, so we happily grabbed one. The menu is standard diner fare, we were happy with the choices and prices. Our order consisted of 2 coffees, short stack of pancakes, and a Philly Omelette (which came with a bagel and potatoes). The portion size was good too. Our total bill with tax came to about $19.80, plus gratuity. Our server at Long Island Cafe was awesome, she (and another woman) kept checking back on us to see if we needed refills on our coffee and water. I suspect our server was from Long Island, New York. We also spotted many customers with NYY and NYG gear, so this must be the go to spot for New Yorkers. This local coffee shop makes delicious omelettes! They are cooked perfectly, are full of whatever fillings you have chosen and melt in your mouth. The home fries are also delicious with the right amount onions. They would have gotten 5 stars from me but their bagels are really lacking for Southern Florida. The bottom line is my dish would have been great if they didn't use a sour-tasting balsamic vinegar to cook the food. And if whoever was smoking in the kitchen would have simply stepped outside of the building instead of having customers breathe in cigarette odor we both would have had a better time. Other than that, the 52 seat restaurant has kind-hearted servers and a good-sized menu. They also were flexible in swapping the rice of my dish for bread to make it an open face sandwich. I had Chicken Rockefeller - a grilled breast marinated in a sour balsamic vinegar covered with fresh baby spinach and fresh mushrooms, bacon, roasted peppers, mozzarella, Swiss, and grated cheese ruined by "a drizzle" of more sour balsamic vinegar. It was served with yet more balsamic vinegar in a small shot glass sized bowl that had what I believe was a thick gob of cheese - see the pic! All I can say is if the chef is in love with balsamic vinegar the restaurant should get a sweeter type - we actually get ours from a dispenser at Winn Dixie and it's sweet. We used to go to Fernanda's on Federal highway to get a thick, sweet balsamic vinegar but Winn Dixie's is tasty, shockingly so. Hubby had a Monte Cristo sandwich of turkey breast slices, ham slices, Swiss, and more turkey breast on egg dipped bread. It was generously stacked with meat but the turkey was very salty and it wasn't a gooey sandwich. The lack of gooeyness made it possible for hubby to pick up a sandwich half and eat it as he would any other sandwich. My experience with Monte Cristos is that it's a gooey sandwich that requires a fork and knife. As well, he wasn't offered any sauce or dressing on the side. So hubby asked for jam and the server gave him 2 packs of strawberry jam. So, between the food falling short of fabulous and us breathing in cigarette smoke for a few prime time moments of eating our meal, neither of us are anxious to return. I was willing but hubby said it wasn't necessary because nothing impressed him enough to want to go back. read more

The "Super Breakfast" comes with 2 eggs, 2 slices of bacon or sausage, choice of oatmeal, potatoes, tomato slices, or grits, AND bagel, bialy, toast or English muffin - all for only $4.50!! I ordered sunny side up eggs with bacon, potatoes, and an English muffin. Everything was perfectly cooked - crisp bacon, potatoes with crispy edges and onions just the way I like them! My husband's scrambled eggs were excellent and the oatmeal was hearty and served with brown sugar. The only disappointment was that the corned beef was the minced kind with a somewhat watery consistency - so I don't recommend this dish unless that's how you like your hash. Otherwise, everything was great and so much better than one of those breakfast chain diners. Personally, I'd rather support a family run business. Very very disappointed. This place needs to wake up and smell the coffee literally. The first sign I should have left was there were two oscillating fans and the a/c was not good. Ok. I still sat down. I saw the bad reviews but not so recent so I risked it. It's a good meeting spot and I was tired of the same place I go to that's always great but I wanted a change. Change is not always good I met a friend and we were seated right away. Both of us had the two egg special. Except she had a hair on her plate. She asked for a new plate and they literally slid the same food on a new plate. She asked them to remake it and the servers looked like they had just been asked to fly to the moon. Ehhhh... It had to be repeated so many times and she just didn't seem to understand things we said. She also wasn't pro-active with coming by to see when we needed a coffee re-fill. My husband got the veggie omelette, which had basically every veggie imaginable. The home fries were delish, though a little on the crispy side. The coffee was just okay. They served an omelet that was not only burned on the bottom, but a dark brown on the top. It was so overdone, the eggs tasted singed.
