What a neighborhood gem! A true family run, small business serving up simple tasty food. Our fun and feisty server Gina was like coming home to have your aunt or mom say..."sit! You just relax and enjoy. No rush, I'm just so happy you're here." Just a fabulous vibe. Large portions. Tasty basic cooking. And plenty of bottomless hot coffee. Food- good. Service. Fun (and fast) Ambiance. Diner. Would I go back? Heck ya!!

What a yummy spot! It was quiet when we came in but the food packed a punch. We ordered food to go. Inside had an old diner feel to it & staff was friendly and helped explain the menu. To eat we had the following: Sausage Egg & Cheese on a Kaiser Roll: it is just the sandwich does not come with any sides you do have to purchase it for extra. The sandwich was big for the size which is good since it does fill you up. The sausage was juicy which is great. Husband really enjoyed it. Veggie Omelette: I chose home fries well done and whole wheat toast. Now this veggie omelette was the real deal. They really put a lot of veggies into it which is great. Every bite had a veggie in it and the size is huge! The picture does not do it justice. The potatoes were amazing they did not have an oily taste and was nice and crispy. This place is a really great place to visit. It's not in my area but when I am in the area would definitely visit again!

Small Cafe. Bagel was good. Service was friendly. Looks the same as when it properly first opened. Not a full size Jewish deli but decent bagel.

This is a great place for breakfast! Three of us went here today and had a really good experience. This place has all the best traits, great selection, reasonable prices, good service, and great tasting food. We ordered the bacon and egg and cheese bagel sandwich was amazing, especially on the sesame seed bagel. The pancakes were absolutely perfect, the full stack comprised of 3 large ones. The bacon was far too thin, but had a nice smoked flavor. The coffee was the only letdown, it tasted far too mild/weak, but they were very generous with the refills.

I feel like this is a three and a half star place that could be four stars. The one thing I really liked about this place is that it is kept very clean. The other thing is the service was good and that its not over priced. Its actually some of the food that could use some help. What I had was very good. What did I have? I had a meat lovers omelet without the pepperoni, oatmeal and rye bread toast. I'm glad I got oatmeal instead of potatoes. Even though it could have used a little salt or the brown sugar, I opted not to use either because it was good by itself. Now what my wife had was another thing. She got two eggs, potatoes and a bialy. A bagel came out ìnstead of a bialy so she had to wait for a bialy to be toasted. In the meantime the eggs got cold. And the potatoes! They needed some serious help! They were mushy, they either needed to be deep fried for a few minutes or cooked longer on the flat top. Oh, when the the bialy came, the cream cheese, we would have gladly payed more for a decent amount of it. I don't know about my wife but it would definitely give this place another opportunity.

If I could give half stars, this cute little spot would score a strong 4.5! We had a lovely waitress who was friendly and efficient. Food quality was great and the servings were fantastic for the price. The blueberry pancakes were huge and the omelettes were generous (my son's 3-egg omelette was served along with a large portion of oatmeal and a bagel). The kids meal was also large! Great spot for a relaxed meal with family or friends.

OMG... The most AMAZING omelette EVER! I ordered a Baby Spinach Special with egg whites. It had spinach, bacon, sundried tomatoes, onions, and goat cheese. It came with a choice of grits, oatmeal, home fries or tomatoes, and a choice of toast, bagel, or English muffin. I had mine with grits and rye toast. My omelette was absolutely perfect, and it got better and better with every bite. The sundried tomatoes and goat cheese added so much flavor to this omelette. The portions are huge so after I devoured that omelette I didnt have much room for the grits. I literally didnt get hungry again until late afternoon. My friends ordered an omelette, a banana nut pancake, and a cheeseburger and fries and they had no complaints. They left just as satisfied as I was. The wait staff is attentive and friendly. The service is fast and the food is made to order with fresh ingredients always. The prices are very reasonable especially for the large portions they give you. Thanks to Dedra D. For putting me on to this place, it's my new breakfast spot!

Scorched eggs and ham. This is my one and done visit

From humble surroundings this neighborhood strip mall diner has some work to do. Ceilings tiles are stained and sag and need to be replaced. Window washing would add some sparkle. Breakfast or includes scorched egg though I asked for over easy. When the meal traffic is slow take the time to turn the burner down and take good care of the eggs. Accuracy first then speed. Bagel game is weak greater opportunity can be realized here. Generational family business have to watch out for complacency

This restaurant is a hidden gem and located next to the Brother's Farmer Market we frequent. The staff was very kind, and knew their regulars well which I noticed based on conversation near us. It's always nice to find a spot like that where people are personable and know you. The prices here are also great for families! I ordered the Fresh Baby Spinach Omelette without the sauteed onions. I got grits and an everything bagel as my sides. My omelette was amazing! It had spinach, sun-dried tomatoes, crispy bacon, and lots of amazing, creamy, goat cheese! It was so delicious and plentiful that I took half of it to go and scarfed it down an hour later. My husband had the turkey burger which he enjoyed. One of the kids opted for breakfast and another for lunch. The eggs in the kids breakfast meal were scrambled with cheese added and our son really enjoyed them, but the French Toast wasn't so great. It was a wheat type bread that was very thick and didn't taste like French Toast. You can get pancakes too which we will choose next time if he gets the same meal. The kids hamburger was tasty and the French Fries were a favorite for us all! There is a good amount of seating. We arrived roughly around 11:30 am, and after about ten minutes it got very busy. We got there just before the next rush. We had a great visit and will definitely be back.

MY 1000th REVIEW…read more.. As a Yelp review milestone, this morning I wanted to pick a mom & pop local food joint with at least 500 plus reviews and above a 4 star yelp rating. Well, I found one..."About Time Cafe" located on West Oakland Park Blvd. No outside patio but had a large seating area, cafeteria style, with four tables currently occupied with customers. This super bubbly waitress, Tabby, greeted me and told me I could sit anywhere in the gently outdated restaurant that serves breakfast and lunch comfort food. The menu items looked impressive with many interesting dishes ranging between $10 - $14. The "Eggs Your Way" for $10.49 was my choice with two eggs over medium, bacon, potatoes and whole wheat toast. My order was ready within ten minutes. Prepared my toast with a heavy coating of raspberry jelly. The eggs were cooked perfectly, loved the onions mixed with the potatoes, although the bacon could have been crisper, next time will order it well done. The bathroom was simple with no exciting decor and needed some minor attention, although, suited its purpose. Tabby alerted me to some deep discounted weekly food specials as follows: Taco Tuesday 1/2 priced Waffle Wednesday 1/2 priced Thirsty Thursday 1/2 off Mimosas Weekend Brunch Bogo Mimosas The food was fantastic and the customer service was commendable. Easy 4 star rating for this relaxed comfort food restaurant. I will return for an omelette and recommend this restaurant to other hungry foodies.

We are still on the hunt for a good breakfast eatery. So, when we got an ad for this place in our…read moreneighborhood coupon packet, we decided to try it. It's in a small strip mall off Oakland Park Boulevard, west of Hiatus. There is lots of parking; the place is plain but clean and houses a large dining room. Hubby had the big breakfast (3 eggs, ham, bacon, sausage, hash browns, and 1/2 order of French toast) and I got the full French toast. The ham was skimpy and paper thin and looked like a piece of lunch meat sliced in two. There were 2 thin strips of bacon and 1 sausage. The hash browns were good but probably about tablespoons worth. The French toast boasted a house made strawberry sauce. We didn't see any. And, when I asked the server, she told me to lift the bread. There was a faint, red smear, and she said that was the strawberry sauce. Nevertheless, the French toast was to my liking, soaked in batter and cooked properly. It was a bit after 12 on a Sunday (after church) and the place was relatively busy with 8-10 tables filled at a time and 2 servers. Plus, one young man was cleaning tables and assisting the servers. We were fascinated watching him clear tables with multiple trips carrying the dirty items in his two hands (no tray!). We even placed bets on how many trips it would take to clear a table of four. (I won, 6 trips.) While the food was good, the items didn't fulfill the promises listed on the menu. Service was congenial as the two servers rushed about trying to get everything done in a timely fashion. Prices were reasonable. Breakfast for two with tax (and free coffee from our coupon) was $28.

Ally's comfort Café has been a staple in Northwest Davie forever. *Now, Ally, moved away a little while ago and new owners took over. They kept the same recipes which made us hopeful that things would pretty much remain the same. But little by little all of the staff that had been there for years started leaving. I think there's only a couple of the longtime staff left. We'll get back to the staff in a moment. My wife and I go to Ally's every Saturday morning. We go there have a great breakfast and then go to the Publix next-door to do our weekly shopping. There's obviously going to be hiccups when new owners take over a restaurant. We totally understand this. But some things are just not improving. They open at 8 AM on Saturdays. But, between 8 and 9 AM there's only one waitress and one bus boy this didn't always used to be the case. They used to have the full staff and someone at the door to take names. He would also help out by getting you drinks or more coffee if you needed it. It worked really well for the small family restaurant. The new owners took over and at some point they decided they only needed limited staff between 8 and 9 AM on Saturdays. And of course, every Saturday my wife and I go in there. It gets packed and the waitress is running around like her head is cut off and the busboy is overwhelmed. This isn't a one time thing it has been constant since they made the staffing change. It's completely unfair to the waitress and busboy and it's also a complete turn off to patrons who have to wait sometimes up to 10 or 15 minutes just for the poor waitress to come and take their order this morning. A couple waited 20 minutes before their order was taken. Also, the owner/manager doesn't get there until almost 9 herself, which means there's no management in the restaurant to help with the register or put out "fires." It. Is. Not. Working. Ally's has been known for their specials for years. They always have amazing special pancakes and special French toast. It's one of the main reasons we still go there. It's our little weekly treat. Lately the specials have been very monotonous. Some sort of jelly put on some French toast or some sort of cream put on a pancake. Not real imaginative for instance, today was banana cream and chocolate pancakes. It was a dollop of banana cream on a chocolate pancake that had little taste. One could've added some fresh bananas, or maybe some whipped cream on top of that. Meanwhile, the special pancakes and special French toast are often made wrong by the staff. This happened this morning. It took them twice to get the pancakes right and three times to get the French toast, right. Again, this is not a one time occur occurrence. We never complain. But we were surprised to still see those items on the bill and not discounted at all, but that's OK. The thing that really drove me to write this review, is that I waited for more than 10 minutes to speak to the owner/manager on our way out. I thought the best way to handle our dissatisfaction would be to speak to her personally. She disappeared into the kitchen, and even after the waitress went to tell her we were waiting to speak with her, she was nowhere to be found. No I understand things come up in the kitchen, but she could've at least came out and said hey I know you're here, I'm dealing with a problem, I'll be right back. But we waited and waited and waited and nothing despite all of the above, that's what irked me the most. I will say this. The food is still very good. And the waitresses and buses are amazing. None of this is their fault. They should all be paid more in dealing with a kitchen that can't get right and an owner that can't seem to figure out good customer service. We will certainly give them another chance, it's part of our routine. But after biting my tongue, I had to let everyone know what was happening at one of our favorite spots in Broward County.

We went there for breakfast. For $22, I got a plate of cold scrambled eggs (I wasn't allowed an…read moreoption on how I wanted them cooked), cold microwaveable sausage links, cold bacon and a cold waffle. I do mean cold. No way this stuff wasn't pre-made a while ago. Oh yeah, part of a banana and one strawberry. Despite what the waiter said, I could tell everything was pre-made. It's about the same quality as the free "continental breakfast" most cheap hotels offer except at the hotel it's still warm and you get refills on coffee and the waffle is freshly made and hot enough to melt butter. No free refills on coffee here unless you buy their "pour over," and then you get one small refill. The strainer for the coffee was stained and filthy when it was brought out, so they're not using fresh ones or even cleaning thoroughly between uses. GF had a meatless omelet and a smoothie. Her omelet was hot so obviously it was made fresh unlike mine. I told the waiter my food was cold and he swore he saw them "take it out of the oven," but nothing I ordered would be cooked in any over other than a microwave oven. Total bill for two: $60+. This was with a 30% discount on my plate for my food being served cold. Honestly you'll have a better, fresher meal at IHOP or Waffle House or Denny's, for a fraction of the price and you'll get coffee refills.
