Our experience a couple of weeks ago was not a pleasant one due to the issue of NO TARTAR SAUCE. But after I made a post review, I was contacted by the Rep Joseph who is responsible for ordering the condiments for the DFW area. He assured me he had no ideal of why this location had NO TARTAR SAUCE and offered to replace our meal. hey look-it enough with the cruel bashing of my beloved LJS. it simply is what it is. if you're a heart conscious sort or don't want to become one stay away by all means. but in truth it's no worse than anything else in the fast-food pantheon. moderation is the key folks, in which case means i hardly ever go, but i dig it so much i gotta have some once every 2 1/2 years or so. so they wouldn't be in my town if everyone was that seldom a patron hey? but they remain because there are mega grease and salt lovers that far exceed my impulses to be sure. yes i overindulge on the occasions i bless myself to the delicacy of LJS, and when i finish i always wish i had more, but unlike some, i nix that urge and medicate with a sixer of Heineken to assist in moving that LJS from my colon. so as to why the government doesn't outlaw the mega grease soaking and salt smothering... well it's because they don't want mass food poisoning epidemics to emerge because of nimwits eating this stuff 36 hours later after its sit in a car. fast-food is essentially like the old, salted sides of meat in chuckwagons that blazed the trail west. this is why you can eat a piece of Papa Johns pizza that's been a car trunk for two days after the tailgate party fer-cryin'-out-loud! read more

Best Long John Silver's I have ever had. Maybe it was just my lucky day! I ordered the fish and shrimp deal and it was a good amount. The food was not overly salty like my other Long John Silver's experiences and was not overly greasy. The fast food employee was sufficiently friendly although he told me to hurry up as I was trying to pull change out of my pocket. He was kind so I didn't mind. The food was hot and crispy. I feel like I lucked out on this one. I give it 4 stars because it is still greasy fast food but better than every other Long John Silver's i have have had. read more

I've come to this location a lot over the years. I have seen it go from bad to good many times. We stopped in today for lunch with the kids. I haven't lived in Texas for the past 5 years so I had a craving for LJS. It was a really pleasant experience. There was a cashier out cleaning tables and cleaned up a high chair for my daughter and brought it to the table. She also brought our food to our table and hats for the kids. Stop by for a quick bite if you have some time. They're really friendly. read more

My family and co-workers hate LJS, but I like the food. Whenever I'm the only one eating, I try to stop and get something. My liver on the other hand suffers for the next day or so while it metabolizes the meal. I imagine my doctor would not approve of this meal. read more

The reason most of us ignore the advice of physicians, budget gurus, and our moms, and get fast food is that we want it - you guessed it - fast! I truly am sorry but this place would have gotten 0 stars if not for a polite order taker and tasty (if greasy) food. +1 Also, few fast food places offer any veggies, and the green beans were tasty, hot, and came with onions. +2 But that is all overshadowed by the incredible frustration f waiting over 10 minutes in the drive through at 3 pm with only one other car in the drive through!! I only ate here bc I was in SUCH a hurry, and needed to get back to work quickly. And ultimately I could have gone into a grocery store and paid for something fresh and cheaper. Mngmt needs to consider when an order takes this long and either make some changes or ask the car in front to pull into park until their food is ready. People expect fast food, well, fast. Under 5 minutes in line, especially in drive through. Sorry folks :( it really was tasty, and the kids meal was a perfect amount without making me feel gross. Maybe I'll give it another try someday. This LJS is just like any other LJS - same food, same service. This particular restaurant is pretty clean, and the ventilation must be working because the usual greasy smoke smell so often found in LJS is absent. The folks working here are nice and helpful. The ever changing menu still has all the great favorites - the white fish in batter (not cod, which they also sell as a premium fish), the shrimp, the clams, and the chicken "planks". They will also give you plenty of crumbles upon request, or a whale's worth if you pay for them. I know it's not fashionable, but I LIKE LJS! It's not high tech, nor is it pricy $20 per entrée "seafood". It's just plain ole fish, fried spuds, creamy slaw, and malt vinegar. Simple, affordable, and pretty yummy, even if a larger portion of grease is part and parcel to your dining pleasure. Came here for a quick bite. Went through the Drive thru. My food was hot and fresh. My biggest comment is the service. The voice at the other end of the speaker was courteous and up beat. I've worked fast food and I know it's not life changing, but I hate apathetic people. When I got to the window, again courteous. Repeated my order, made eye contact, and even told me a corny joke. I'm not exactly a fan of tons of fried food, but at my mom's insistence we got take out from the drive-thru. The food isn't too bad but the employees taking the order have a hard time understanding what we wanted and it took them a long time to get it to us. Years ago we ate at least once or twice a month at this location. The food was always delicious but then it got really greasy. So fast forward 15 years to yesterday, June 30, 2013. I went up to this location and got fish dinners to go. I had a side order of 6 hush puppies. This Long John's was not busy so it wasn't like they were overcome with orders. I got home, we settled down to eat and NO hush puppies. As we looked back on our days of eating at this location, we remembered that 4 out of 10 times, we got home with incomplete orders. I don't know how hard it could be to look at the order on the monitor and complete it. Well maybe we should wait 15 years before going back. By the way, the fish was still greasy but tasted good. And that is why I gave it 4 Stars. The 2 hush puppies that came with the meal were really delicious...shame we didn't have the extra order I paid for to eat too. read more

The exterior has that New England look going for it. There were some flowers and a patio which was nice. The inside was a different story. The ceiling was low. Everything was clean, but it all looked like it was falling apart. Paint peeling off the ceiling, the drywall was separating in places, there were stains on the ceiling tiles. Terracotta tiles on the floors and a yellow wallpaper. Some red and blue tiles were slapped up in some random spots. This has got to be the nastiest shit I have ever eaten. It's bad even by fast food standards. The amount of grease, you would not believe. I don't even know how they did it. When I deep fry things I have never managed to get so much grease to absorb into the batter or food, but Long John Silver manages to pull it off. The fried sides like the onion rings are pretty funny. Because they fry it in the same oil they fry the fish in, it will taste like fish. So I got some slightly fishy onion rings. The employees were all great. Very polite and fast. The only upside is that this place serves Pepsi rather than Coke. This is my second and last time eating here. If I had remembered what the first time was like many years ago, I don't think I would've come here for a second round. read more

I had the two fish and six shrimp platter. They made a fresh batch. It was hot and salty, so it is exactly as I liked it. I was greeted with the utmost courtesy. I have been going to this location for a long time and despite the rise in price it was still okay. However, me and my family decided to pay them a visit today and i was disappointed by a staff's behavior. I can only assume that he was the manager because the guy at the counter kept asking for his help and he had on a different color shirt. The front cashier was obviously having some issues with figuring out how to ring us up and the manager told him he was, to stupid to help. WHAT? Are you kinding me. I thought for sure I was on an episode of that tv show, What Would You Do. Well, after i told him how rude he was and how you do treat people like that, we walked out. I will not be back. I go to this Long John's at least once a month. Normally, they are pretty good, but not this trip. It was 4 pm on a Saturday. So, I get that they probably didn't have a ton of food ready. I went through Drive-thru and ordered my usual--a number 9 platter with extra hushpuppies and corn. I had to wait for the shrimp. Not a big deal, you want your shrimp to be fresh, so I can accept waiting a few minutes in my car for that. I got my order and when I got home, I was missing my other side--the corn. The shrimp were indeed fresh and hot. The two pieces of fish, however, were not fresh. That was disappointing. I love their food, but the fish was old and the shrimp was hot and then I am guessing in that waiting for the shrimp, they forgot my corn. Disappointing visit. You guys can do better! read more

Returned to this location because I had a pleasant experience once before. Ordered one piece fish and popcorn shrimp. The popcorn shrimp was alright. But the fish was old and possibly reheated. Fish doesn't take a long time to cook. So, serving reheated/ old fish is just not done. Disappointed! read more

Much improved! We have been going here on and off for the last 4 years. Last week the service was very friendly and the staff was caring and fast. The food is great for fast food. Not nearly as greasy as it has been in the past. The only thing was the fries seemed to be past their hold time - like room temperature vs. hot and fresh like the rest of our food.
