An amazing place! An OC favorite of mine. The 2 for 1 happy hour from 5-6pm daily is the real deal. The white cranberry cosmo is my personal go to. Plenty of other choices, as well as your own ideas. It's hard not to be stuffed from the great selection of appetizers. Green beans, crabby flat bread, drunken Brie & nuts & potstickers were enjoyed by all. Scallops, shrimp, other seafood & non-seafood entrees are all solid. Finished our meal off with an amazing brownie with many toppings, omg!! All that and we only went for happy hour. Our server was beyond delightful with a terrific sense of humor and aplomb! We sat on the porch which was cool & comfortable and only added to our lovely evening. Thank you Longboard Cafe. You can't get to-go drinks here anymore! :( Apparently I missed the memo on this because I called to order a ton of food and the drink that keeps me coming back: the amazing cucumber-jalapeño margaritas!! But then the server said we couldn't get to-go drinks any more so we cancelled the whole order. The food is good but it was the drink that made it my go-to place over the last couple years. MAD KUDOS TO WHITNEY! It needs to be shouted, she had infinite patience with our large party of 9 as our waitress the other night, so thank you!! Besides a weird encounter when I first arrived at the hostess station, everybody was so friendly and helpful, the service really was excellent. Seemed like the woman who was running the hostess station had some weird coworkers. One girl kept arguing with her when she kept pointing to me to help me (the first woman was on the phone, helping another customer), and then my host disappeared and never returned, when I asked if we could move the two parking lot tables together (spoiler alert: you can. The large party after us did it). Whitney was amazing, she had infinite patience, especially when she kept running back and forth from our table to inside, as we took forever to make drink decisions, and then placing appetizers and finally food orders. It was a bit of a family reunion for us, and some of us hadn't seen one another in 5-10 years. We never felt rushed, or that we were inconveniencing anyone. Everything, from drinks to food, came out quickly, and I would definitely recommend this place for anyone with a large party, or with kids. The green bean appetizer was so good and most of us ordered tacos for our entrees and loved them (the fish tacos were delicious and I enjoyed the street corn, but I should have asked for hot sauce for it). The gentleman who came to start clearing our table was nice enough to take photos for us, and took quite a few so we had a selection. Overall, we had a great meal together and we were there for 3ish hours. I'd also like to point out this place is very reasonably priced! It was about $215 before tip, and we ordered 5 sodas, 4 alcoholic beverages, 3 appetizers, 2 kids meals and 6 adult entrees. 10/10 would recommend! read more

My friends had the duck, fish tacos, and shrimp crab imperial, all of which were delicious. The waitstaff was friendly. personable, and professional. My husband and I went here for lunch and it was an ok quick bite. I had the BLT and hubby had the steak fajita tacos. The BLT came with a salad with a delicious vinaigrette. The BLT itself was huge and fairly tasty. The bacon wasn't as salty as normal bacon and tasted a little different than what you normally get but not in a bad way just kind of different and unexpected. My husband said his tacos were mediocre. The outside dining area was nice and the service was decent. Nothing to blow your socks off but it was an ok stop for lunch. read more

We made reservations for dinner, and I would recommend it, since this place gets packed and busy. They open at 5 and the restaurant was already full. Very fun atmosphere and we loved dining outdoors. We ordered a side Caesar salad and cream of crab soup for appetizer/starters. Both starters were great. I would order them again. The soup has nice portions of crab meat and the Caesar salad has freshly grafted Parmesan with homemade croutons. For the main dish we ordered the seafood pasta and the dry-aged coffee rubbed sirloin. The seafood pasta was amazing and out of this world. The steak however wasn't what we expected. My husband wanted to try something different and it just didn't work. The service was wonderful. Next time we will order some tacos and other dishes that are recommended. read more

I wrote about Longboard on an OC Facebook page so I'm just copying and pasting that here: I've been following a couple of OC pages for months in anticipation of our trip here and keeping a list of restaurants to try. Somehow I hadn't seen anyone mention Longboard Cafe until a couple of days ago and I'm so glad I did! And thank you to whomever that was! We arrived yesterday and went last night. Reservations are recommended and we didn't have any, but the staff was so helpful and snagged us two seats at the bar. Best food we've had in OC! (Yes, we just got here, but we came last year as well.) Upscale food with a laid-back vibe. The apps were our favorite part of the meal - we got ahi tuna nachos and their award-winning Longboard wings, which were the absolute best wings I've ever eaten. Service was impeccable, bartenders were friendly... I have a list of restaurants longer than the number of meals we'll even have here, but I'm so tempted to go back here again on this visit! Edited to add: we did get takeout from there on our last night in town. Got to try the Waimea Burger and it was epic! Will definitely be back next year. read more

I wanted to love this place so badly. I wasn't able to go on my first beach trip this year so was really excited to try them this go round. It's really cute and decorated well and the ambiance is beautiful. The food just was not great. My kids both got chicken tenders and fries, which were fine, you really can't screw those up. I ordered the cream of crab soup, and the wedge salad. The cream of crab has sherry in it, which I typically LOVE but this soup tasted so strongly of sherry I said to my husband I could've not ordered a drink because the soup will probably get me drunk alone. It was awful, we each had a few bites of it and then left it alone which is disappointing bc it's a $15 bowl of soup. I truly have never had such a nasty cream of crab soup. The wedge salad could've been good but it was absolutely swimming in dressing. By the time I was done there was enough dressing left on the plate for probably 5 more salads. I finished it but it did make it hard to eat, trying to scrape some of the dressing off. This was disappointing bc I feel cream of crab soup and a wedge salad are so basic that you have to work really hard to actually screw them up. Like they tried too hard to put their own spin on it or something. My husband ordered the wild caught salmon but it was definitely not wild caught you could tell just by looking at it. It was cooked well though and tasted fine but you're usually paying more for wild caught vs farmed salmon so that's a bummer. Our server was very nice and so was the front door staff. I just was very disappointed with the food. All in all I feel like this restaurant could have a lot of potential, maybe they had an off night. I would give them another try but was definitely underwhelmed with this particular visit. read more

Went to Longboard for St. Patty's and got the Rueben special for under $10.00 including fries. I have never had a Reuben where the bread wasn't toasted or grilled. It was almost like a healthier version of a Reuben on marble bread without grilling the bread in butter. Hats off to the chef with the creativity of this Rueben which is not normally served at Longboard nor is it on the menu. As I reviewed before the beer can be really expensive but they do have the greatest beer on Tap RAR from Cambridge. This restaurant is always super clean and the staff is always so nice. This is one of the better places to eat in Ocean City that is not junk food or greasy food. Next time I will try the wings after seeing the numerous trophies at the bar for their wings. It was oddly crowded for a Monday night and we didn't have reservations, so we were directed to sit at the bar. The service was fast and we were asked right away what we wanted to drink and were given menus. There were a few obviously local patrons already at the bar since they knew the bartenders by name. We ordered drinks and appetizers. The drinks were light on liquor and the bartender gave us regular soda when diet was requested. She saw us trading drinks and trying to see if it was diet or not and admitted her error and gave one new drink but not both. Blood sugar watchers beware. The food was less than standard. Wings and cauliflower bites were hot and served relatively soon. The wings were a bit undercooked but the cauliflower bites were perfect. The shrimp tacos were a bit bland but the ingredients were fresh. Overall, this place does not live up to its reputation as the top choice in the area. It's just okay. The decor and atmosphere were trying too hard to be trendy but were not bad. Again, from the reviews we were expecting something much better and less annoying service for the price. Save your money and go somewhere else with better food and better service at a lower price with less frustration. read more

Overall, FANTASTIC dining experience. Best SERVICE we had in our entire week in OC. Our server, Ryan, was brilliant. There were 3 tables (incl. ours) seated in very close proximity (time-wise) and he very subtly staggered our orders so that we weren't all the same timeline (getting drinks, apps, entrees at the same times), but without degrading service or causing unnecessary wait for any of us. Noticeable to anyone who's served before, but otherwise seamless. He had the perfect mix being attentive and personable but not overwhelming, and addressed our needs discreetly before we could even ask for anything. Really like his style, and will request Ryan again when we return (which we will!) AMBIANCE is unique and very inviting...kind of upscale (but not stuffy) surf climate meets modern beachy decor inside. Not too loud inside as many places can be and thankfully no TVs for my kids to stare at (at most, maybe 1 at the bar but not sure). The owner circulated throughout the restaurant to engage with patrons. Nice touch. He seemed sincere and obviously invested. Restaurant manager also inquired with us briefly to ensure all was well. Diverse MENU, something for everyone. Our party of 4 had variety -- scallops, grilled chicken salad, burger, wings, crab quesadilla -- and every dish was delish. I had heard their wings were rated best in town for several years, and they def lived up to that rep. Both buffalo and honey old bay were awesome! Strongly recco reservations at least 2-3 days in advance. We booked 2 days prior and still had hard time finding anything before 8pm (probably a good sign for business!). Cream of Crab soup was a little bland but after adding more old bay it was ok. Seafood pasta was good, chef special was also good. Salmon but tacos were delicious! Jerk chicken tacos were good. Best Greek salad around. We were sat upstairs and it was kind of cold with the ac unit (but I'd much rather be cold than hot). I do like the atmosphere there a lot. We did a little shopping before being seated and after. So great location. I do recommend a reservation. Wait times can be long without one. read more

We came here for dinner during our quick, one night stay out in OCMD. We had gotten a gift card awhile ago, and Longboard Cafe was highly recommended, so we figured we'd check this place out. We are very happy we did. I love the vibe that this restaurant gives off. The food is definitely high end and fancier. But they boast a casual environment that I think is necessary for a beach town restaurant. We were wearing swim suits and had just spent the day sweating outside and we did not feel out of place. Happy hour cocktails were 2 for 1. My girlfriend was thrilled with her 2 margaritas. Our waitress was friendly and attentive and checked in frequently with a warm smile on her face. We ordered and shared the Mexican Street Corn - the best I've ever had, even having it several times in San Diego where they're known for it. It was so incredibly flavorful. The appetizer sampler was the perfect way to try multiple things I was eyeing up on the menu. The shrimp were HUGE and perfectly cooked, the wings were crispy and delicious, the deep fried ribs fell off the bone and paired perfectly with the mango salsa on top, and the "wrinkled" green beans were a unique and tasty twist to regular green beans. The sampler also came with four sauces that were nice to mix and match with the food. I highly recommend it for anyone as indecisive as myself. For the main courses, we got the crispy duck. It was perfectly cooked; crispy on the outside (as stated) and tender under the skin. The sauce with it was slightly sweet and paired perfectly. I just wish it came with a bit more. The scallops "fondue" was the only thing I wouldn't order again. The scallops were cooked just right, but the sauce they were swimming lacked some flavor and any punch to make them stand out. Overall, I would highly recommend this place to anyone that finds themselves in OCMD. Especially if you are looking for finer dining after a long day at the beach without being able to dress in your evening best. read more

Tried going here yesterday but there was an hour wait so we made reservations tonight. The restaurant is cute and is in a great spot, next door to Sweet Frog and a few other businesses and is generally a good spot if you have little ones. Our waiter was excellent and brought out a small order of fries once he overheard my hangry toddler yelling "I want food!". That was so sweet and he was really a great waiter. The food was hit or miss, depending on what you ordered. The cornbread with crabmeat was absolutely delicious, the crab cakes were good but I've had better and my husbands ribeye was very good. Their kids meals were large and the burger was really good. We went with a big group so we tried lots of stuff so that was nice. My sister ordered the crab quesadilla and it was loaded with crab meat but could've used a little more sauce or something to kick up the flavor. The seafood pasta wasn't great and the seafood risotto wasn't very flavorful either. I'd be willing to give this place a try again because the things that were good were VERY good, and the location and atmosphere were excellent and the wait staff was wonderful. read more
