So decided to have steak for my Birthday dinner at a restaurant.. we went to a local steakhouse that we never been to that had a outrageous wait time ratio to the amount of cars in the parking lot before choosing Longhorn just because we had a decent experience there and on our mindset to go .. after logging us on the roll call for a 40 minute wait we got seated.. salad was good bread was good sweet tea was great .. but my Outlaw 20oz ribeye appears great.. digging in to it .. was bland no flavor.. cook was good absolutely no flavor.. sad that the cow lost its life for a bland cook and loaded baked potato was almost over cooked... order GRilled mushrooms and got sautéed...after I almost finished my meal. I really would like to make this a "Two Star" review, but I can't make myself be that mean because of the extenuating circumstances. So, me and some friends came to Longhorn after church Saturday night about an hour before they closed (9pm). They were cut down to closers (if you have served in a restaurant you understand me perfectly) and so there were only two people waiting tables in the restaurant. We got sat, and waited about ten minutes on drinks. Service here being excellent usually, I gave them a pass. Once we had our water and tea, I noticed that they had a "pop" and our server had gotten triple sat. This boded ill, but oh well what can you do. We ordered two appetizers, all of us got salads, and our entrees. Our food order went in after one table that got sat after us, but before the other two. That was more due to the hustle of the other server, who was moving at a much faster pace than ours. Our appetizers were the firecracker chicken wraps, and the cheese fries. Now, I know from working in a restaurant that cheese fries are ridiculously easy to prepare. Plate, fries, cheese, bacon, salamander, done. The ones at Longhorn come with chili, but we all know that's prepared already right? Right? No illusions here. Anyway, it takes the chicken wraps about 20 minutes to come out. Then, the fries take an additional 10 minutes. It then takes at least 15 more minutes just to get the salads out. I should mention we had a kid at our table, a 2 year old, who was on his best behavior but we were all tired of being in the restaurant by the time our food got there. We arrived at the restaurant at 8:55, our order went in about 9:15, came out about 10:15. Ridiculous! The other tables were running our server ragged, so I have a great amount of sympathy for her (and tipped her well) but it was soooo annoying. What was worse was that the manager was just walking around talking to people, not even trying to help out or address our bad experience. One more thing: everyone else's food was good, but my Parmesean chicken was very greasy and not at all appetizing. All in all, this was a disappointing experience. Okay, I feel cheated Husband and I did not get the good food and good service that was mentioned in other patrons' reviews. We sat at the bar on a Sunday night, thinking the bartenders would be the most helpful. Apparently not because these girls could not get out of the weeds. While they were trying to catch up, they either dropped glassware, bottles, or else ignored patrons. I ordered the salmon and grits and immediately was sick in the restaurant's bathroom (which was dirty, BTW-- GROSS!!!) Husband's medium rare steak was left in the ktchen's window for 45 minutes (!!!) cooked itself to medium well. This is my mom's favourite place so I usually take her for her birthday. She's nuts about the Flo's filet and I'll be honest, it's not too bad when I try a bite. I usually get the Redrock grilled shrimp though. It's pretty good. The service is always fantastic. I don't come here very often but have never had a bad experience. The interior is nice too, it seems a little more upscale, possibly a tad above Outback but not ridiculously more expensive. Steaks wasn't that good. We had high expectation because every time we wanted to dine in, there was always an hour or 2 wait period. We couldn't wait that long so we didn't get to try their food till the 4th or 5th time. This was my first lunch indoor since Covid. Staff was a little slow but very very nice and once we ordered they put it in overdrive and did a great job. My 2 sons an I had 3 different orders. They all had good flavor but the steak and lamp chops were well done and we asked for medium rare. The waitress offered to have the replaced but the flavor was there and we had to go back to work, so we declined. This would have been a 4 or 5 star with some minor corrections. The wait was not long being Friday afternoon. Our server Will was great always on point with refills and made sure we were doing fine on occasions. The steak is juicy and tender way better than Logan's the mash potatoes I didn't really enjoy they were to creamy. The Asparagus were soft had flavor. It was an enjoyable experience even though Long Horns can be a bit dry in the ambiance category. All of the servers were attentive to their sections from what I saw and they were friendly. I've been to this restaurant several times, good food and normally good service, except this day (08/12/2021). Arrived at 12:20 pm with 2 friends and was met by two employees who informed us of a 30 to 35 minute wait. We sat down to wait and after 10 minutes two people entered and were immediately taken to a table. It was very obvious we were not the favorite color of the greeters at the front door. The steak was good.... but the place was running slowly. We chose to eat at the bar. There were two bartenders running their behinds off. They were working hard in what seemed to be a very disorganized situation. The couple next to us had their entrees before their salads. I had a margarita, which came with a shaker from which I filled my glass nearly 2 more times. I am thinking the women on duty were lacking support from the kitchen and or management, as they were clearly constantly moving and seemed to maintain a positive attitude. Appetizers were standard fried food, pickles, firecracker shrimp, chicken tenders. Two of the 10 steak orders were cooked wrong but the staff returned them and brought new ones without a problem. Be careful when leaving the restroom area of the restaurant because it may be slippery. A woman just fell pretty hard. The steaks are always really good when cooked right. My first visit to Longhorn on Highway 64.. I chose a prime rib sandwich. The meat was too tough to chew. There were more mushrooms on the sandwich than meat. It was supposed to have also come with a sauce, but none was included. My order was to go; otherwise, I would have returned it for a refund. There are other restaurants in the area which DO have good prime rib sandwiches, so I will go to one of those in the future. I give a 3 star rating because the fries were excellent read more

Waitress came and we ordered, noticed she didn't write it down. Food came out pretty quickly, but my husbands order was wrong. Ordered mashed potatoes, got baked potato. He decided to eat it instead of sending it back. Started eating his steak- he ordered well done. The outside rim was well but the rest was rare. Told my husband to send it back, but he said he'd just eat what wasn't rare. Waitress hadn't came back. No one ever brought us bread, asked another waitress, waited, nothing. Saw our waitress pass by, asked for a go box. She never brought it and I also told her we needed the bill. Didn't bring it. Caught a guy I thought was a manager, asked for box, he did bring it over. Asked if we were ready to pay. Did send someone to pick credit card off table, didn't see bill till I was charged and they wanted me to sign. I debated a while about the tip. Wrong food, no bread, wrong doneness, no refills, having to find someone for box and bill, absent waitress. First time I've ever not left a tip. But I work hard for my money too and I couldn't leave good money for someone who did nothing. Went there on a Friday mid afternoon for a late lunch/early dinner. Not too busy. I got the 6oz. Filet with baked potato and ordered the fried Brussels sprouts too. Food was acceptable but not great. Brussels sprouts were the best part. Biggest problem was the dirty silverware brought wrapped in a napkin. My wife and I both had knives with food stuck to them and forks with small chunks of food between the tines. The waitress apologized and brought us new silverware but my knife was still dirty. Finally on the 3rd try I was able to get a knife and one fork I could use. No excuse for this, it takes away from the eating experience and lessens your appetite. I suggest they turn up the temperature on their hot water tank for the dishwasher and pay attention to the silverware you're wrapping up in napkins. Kinda bad. read more
