The steak was cooked just right, the potatoes were quite good, but the star was the asparagus. You don't often see asparagus offered as a side at restaurants and I often don't like how it is prepared but this was an exception. Very buttery, tender, and not a tough stalk in sight. Got to the restaurant at 8:15 pm on a Monday and the place was completely dead with 3-5 tables being served. We entered with no reception at the front recept desk waited about 5 minutes and no one was there to greet us Or to seat us. Finally My wife and I flagged down the receptionist that was cleaning tables and bussing the place! He said... I will seat you in about 5 minutes and left to continue cleaning. After about 10 minutes we left and drove 1 minute to Outback! They were about just as slow at Longhorn! i did a pick up order from this Longhorn Steakhouse and it was not good. I only ate half of the cheeseburger and nothing else accept a glass of water. Within about 10 mins of eating it, my stomach started feeling awful and I had to start popping Pepto Bismol tablets for the rest of the night. They are doing something wrong there. stay away. Honestly, we had a great experience overall when stopping in for a late lunch while running errands the other day. The bread is always on point! So so good, and fresh! The strawberry salad sounded delicious, but I wanted salmon instead of chicken. Our waitress was great and inquired as to the cost to substitute, and was able to make it happen! My salad was the shining star of the meal. My husband loved it, and 100% wanted to steal my meal. This says a lot considering he got a steak. The fruit and the dressing paired with the salmon so well. It was the perfectly fresh lunch I was wanting. On to the steak. It was cooked properly which is always a first thing to check for. Aside from that, my husband felt it was overly salty. I'm inclined to agree after trying it. The mashed potatoes were delicious! 10/10 recommend. I have never left a bad review, but there's a first time for everything. My family and I have eaten here dozens of times with good experiences. Tonight's experience was about as bad as you can get. Our server was prompt and nice and kept the drinks filled- nothing in this review was her fault. Problems we encountered tonight: 1) my salmon was cool and not cooked through - there were still small uncooked spots clearly visible. The outermost parts were barely warm at best 2) my wife's filet was so overcooked she at less than half of it and it wasn't seasoned, very bland 3) my daughters chicken fingers were not warm and the coating was soggy. Her Mac n cheese was almost cold in the middle. She ate barely any of it. 4). My son's lobster tail was barely warm and his Mac n cheese was also cold inside (I tested it). I don't know if there is new kitchen staff here but the above problems were amplified by the fact it took forever for our food to come out. Our server kept apologizing and appeared nervous. Both tables on either side of us sent multiple plates back to the kitchen to try again. We didn't have that luxury of additional time so we had to deal with it. Again, not our servers fault, so we gave her a tip but this was a giant waste of $152. I would really appreciate a refund. Before going back I just wish I knew if this was a problem with a crowded restaurant or new kitchen staff. Hope it gets corrected. read more

I can't complain, really. I am extremely picky about my steak. Even though I specifically asked for a thicker cut for my steak, was done nicely. My son got the Parmesan Crusted Chicken and baked Sweet Potato and and said they were wonderful. My husband had Salmon Over Rice and Crispy Brussels and also enjoyed them. Our French Onion Soup had more cheese than soup, but tasted great as usual. I should ask for less cheese next time. We've eaten here twice in the last few months, and each time was a near perfect experience. The food was perfectly prepared (steaks, apps, chicken, salmon, veggies) and the servers were attentive, friendly and prompt. Don't bother ordering to go; It took them 35 minutes to make 2 orders of spicy chicken bites, a small rare steak, and a large medium rare steak. They forgot the extra things I asked for in my order, and when they came out with the second order, we had told them what we were missing and all they said was "Okay" and walked away. They never came back out. We went inside and still had to wait 5 minutes to talk to someone AGAIN about what we were missing. It would have been faster to eat in, and our food wouldn't be getting cold after waiting 45 minutes after we placed it to pick it up. Her name was Mandy and I knew what kind of waitress she was and I wasn't wrong. She was upfront and on it. She never missed a beat nor did her skills and can-do attitude disappoint. I didn't really care for the blue cheese crumbles iron my salad but Mandy asked if I was okay with it and I did say yes. But in hindsight, I would do ranch now. The French onion soup was extremely salty. I like salt but this was over the top should you be one to be rather conservative on your sodium intake. I brought the leftover soup home, mixed a little water with it and it was perfect. The salad was wonderful. The steak was hot and seasoned well on top of my salad. I was extremely disappointed with the quality of my steak when I went to eat there today. I ordered a ribeye and they served some type of beef that silver skin in the side and none of the marbling. The has. They affirm me that it was a ribeye, but I have eaten ribeyes for a long time and it did not look or taste like such cut meat. We started with the chicken wings. They were cooked nicely. I had the filet with the loaded baked potato. My steak was cooked perfectly and I really enjoyed the toppings on my loaded baked potato. My son had the kids filet with french fries. He enjoyed his steak but didn't like the fries. I ordered him a side of the macaroni and cheese. As a frequent traveler, I eat at Longhorn restaurants weekly because, because in general, they are consistent in food quality. There have been exceptions, and this may be the most disappointing one. To start on a positive note, our server Chris, was friendly and proficient. Though not empowered to resolve any of the problems I encountered, he may have had the opportunity to raise the issues to find a solution to save he night of unfortunate events. After a terribly long wait - first for a table - then next for entrees - our food arrived cold. I wish I'd read other recent reviews before choosing this location as it seems to be a recurring theme on busy nights. There is no excuse for it. On top of the cold steak, it was painfully small - in no way resembling the 8oz portion proclaimed in the menu. Perhaps it shrunk due to arriving at a different temperature than ordered, or it was simply cowering in shame due to its astonishing resemblance to a middle finger. I was being taunted for ordering a cheaper cut than normal. It was taken back and returned - after an extended period - nuked into well-donedom. Now it was inedible. Insult added to injury. So, I went without anything more than two sorry bites - one cold, one shoe-leather like before throwing in the napkin. Meanwhile, my wife was missing candied pecans from her aptly named strawberry pecan salad. They eventually arrived halfway through her meal, but she was pleased. Later we found the red onions were left off. Mind boggling. Fortunately, the kids were no worse for the wear. In full disclosure, they didn't charge me for my meal, which consisted of rice pilaf and side Caesar. What should have been done was that I received a replacement new, warm and properly cooked complimentary steak for waiting so long. But shockingly, I left without the steak for which we all came. UPDATE: I did ask to speak to the manager on the way out - something I never do. But I was hungry and unhappy. She apologized and said there was a communication mix-up between her and the server, who was to bring me a new steak but didn't. She gave me a gift card and profusely apologized. I was very disappointed. The stuffed mushrooms got cold because we weren't brought plates in time. The bread was brought to the table late and without a knife. My steak came cooked incorrectly, and when they brought a replacement, it was still cooked incorrectly. Service was not the best we had to ask for a refill on water. I asked for butter and cinnamon on the side for my sweet potato, and even when they brought me a replacement steak, they still put the butter and cinnamon on the sweet potato. Just came back in August 2015 with my mom who has always been a longhorn fan. I'm over the value part and now looking at what they are adding to get more people in. Came in recently for the fried green tomatoes, asparagus and a actually got a steak/philly sandwich and lunch to share and it was very tasty. Service is from the girls who have been there forever, good service, kind of "diner like"- used to be bit more upscale- but if you get a renegade or the various Flo filets offered, they are good albeit the price point is higher. Gone through several changes over the past years and currently happy with the quality of the food, not so much the service but its not as much a finer dining experience like it used to be. Nevertheless, good location, probably hit and miss on service, good quality menu items and specials are worth a go. Will be back on a semi-normal basis when in Cumming as its consistent. Visited longhorns and sat at the bar for a quick bite. Bartender Courtney was great! Ordered the flo filet 9oz (medium) and it came more like medium well. Not too big of a deal bc it was still really good but Courtney and the manager saw the temp of the steak and insisted we have them recook another. Unfortunately the next steak was exactly the same, still delicious but over cooked. They removed the cost of the steak meal from my check! Excellent customer service by longhorns staff! Normally we love Longhorn but this weekend we got duped. Ordered 2 baked potatoes to pick up (with entree) but we did t eat them until the next day. Came here for a quick lunch with my honey while getting my car serviced. It's easy to spot from the road and is right near the intersection of Buford Hwy and Market Place Blvd in Cumming, off exit 14 on 400. Lots of open parking! Lunch crowd was sparse on this visit, and we snagged a booth. I noticed they were playing some alternative music when we walked in, which was a first for me to hear. They are known for country music playing in the background so this was a delightful change. They played one more rock song after that and then the party was over, somebody realized the genre of music wasn't Longhorn style and switched it back. Our server was friendly and greeted us promptly. She did a great job of checking in and not being overly friendly. We started off with their bread (which is given complimentary). I realize they now ask if you want bread instead of just bringing it out. LOVE their bread and it was fresh. The creamy, sweet butter that comes with it is perfect too! We both noticed they had a lunch combo option, which I thought was smart. There were three price range options: $7, $8, & $9. Each option gave you choice of Caesar or house salad, and then three smaller portion entree options. The $7 one was mainly soup and salad. I opted for the $9 option to get the shaved prime rib sandwich and my honey got the $8 grilled chicken & strawberry salad. My honey loved her strawberry and chicken salad, and we both thought the Caesar salad was ok. It did come with shaved Parmesan, which was a nice touch. Both the combos came with a ramekin of chips with cheese and bacon poured over it. That was also just ok. My sandwich I didn't really like. First, it came with mushrooms and secondly, the horseradish sauce didn't compliment it at all. I managed to eat it all, but the only enjoyable part were the caramelized onions on it. The shaved prime rib wasn't flavorful and needed some major love. I'd recommend getting a side of BBQ sauce. I also ordered their Perfect Margarita, and ... Ahem ... It was far from perfect. It was perfectly salted around the rim but it tasted like they watered it down with too much orange juice. It just didn't do it for me. I didn't even feel a slight buzz from it. I also noticed there were no mints when we left, which I thought was odd. Overall, this trip was just ok. The service was great but food was just ok. I visited Longhorn in Cumming on 3/9/24 with 5 family members. The food and service were outstanding. Our server Mandy was terrific - very quick and efficient with a smile. I ordered the Flo's Filet, and didn't finish it, so I packed the rest in a container to go. Unfortunately I left my food on the table, but before we left the parking lot I ran back in to get it. I couldn't believe they had already cleared the table and threw my food out. I was clearly upset, but the manager was kind enough to make me another steak and broccoli to take home - and threw in a loaf of bread and butter besides! I sat down and I was not greeted at all just asked what would you like to drink I answered and then my server came back with my drink and asked me what she could grab for me. Didn't ask if I was ready just assumed I had been there before ( I hadn't) Thankfully I knew after looking at the menu while waiting to be greeted I was then asked if I would like some bread and I said yes assuming it was a roll of some kind. It was not. The brought out a LOAF of bread but no knife so I had to use my steak knife to cut the bread which was tasty. I then finished my drink and waited for her to refill it in a timely manner. I was then brought my meal which was great! But my server never came back to check how everything was which would have been unfortunate if I hadn't enjoyed my meal. It's a large portion of fried shrimp - breading has a bit of a kick, comes with ranch dressing (I think that's what it was?). There are some misc. peppers mixed in for extra flavor. We both also enjoy their French onion soup and side salads. Bubbly hot cheese on top - yum!! We spit the chicken tenders. They have a light breading on them and came out hot with honey mustard. My wife & kids came in to this location on a Friday night after a Costco run. We arrived a little bit after 6 and the parking lot was pretty busy but we got lucky and found a spot right up front. Not surprising that it was pretty busy inside with several families waiting but the wait for us would only be about 15 minutes. We were seated in a booth and greeted promptly by our server. She quickly got our drinks and took our order. I wish I would have remembered her name because she was great. She constantly came back to check on us and refill our drinks. The food was about par for what I expected. No shade on longhorns but I do not come in expecting the best steak in the world. I really only hope to have a good piece of meat cooked the way I want it. Thank you, Longhorn on Marketplace, for providing me a good steak joint down the road from a place I used to frequent. I recently had a TERRIBLE experience at their local competition (you can read the long, explicit review) and Longhorn more than made up for it. In fact, leave it to my husband to recognize the waiter from one of our good experiences at the other horrible place who had left due to "management running the restaurant into the ground." We can attest... In any case, we really enjoyed our visit. A manager greeted us and sat us right away. Our waiter was just as good as he had been on our previous meeting. Friendly, prompt, very knowledgable and definitely enjoyed his job! Our meals were excellent, starting with the warm, whole grain bread. Husband had salmon over rice with a baked potato and salad. Salmon was perfectly cooked and seasoned. Salad was fresh and crispy with (his words) he perfect amount of ranch! I enjoyed the Grilled Chicken & Strawberry salad - crisp greens, tasty, juicy chicken, fresh strawberries. Very tasty. My only complaint is that it is I wish it were larger for a $13 salad. We took our remaining bread (can't let it get thrown away) and it reheated very well the next day under the broiler. We found our new favorite! read more
