My family decided to come here for my younger cousin's high school graduation celebration. I had a party of 5 and we only had to wait about 10-15 minutes. We were greeted and sat at our table. The server came and took our drink orders and came right back with them. She brought out 2 things of bread so she really got extra points for that. She kept our drinks filled as well. It didn't take too long for our food to come out. The online get in line ahead waiting system worked great! The hostess accommodated a seating change to a booth which was appreciated. My wife and I were in a hurry of sorts and ordered drinks and entrees immediately. The waitress was friendly and smiled. She had a neat appearance and was professional. Cesar salads and warm bread hit quickly and was fresh and tasty. The entrees pushed out in around 20 minutes. They were not too busy, so we expected a quick turnaround. My wife enjoyed her salmon and baked potato. I started on my loaded sweet potato which was awesome. The waitress did a very early check and everything was fine. However my Outlaw steak cooked medium was rare. It also was very fatty. I pushed through around a quarter until we flagged the waitress down and told her. At this point my wife was done. The waitress apologized and offered a refire which I turned down with being in a hurry. I also did not want the same fatty steak. We requested a bill. She quickly came back with the bill and offered us desert to go which we declined. She said the manager discounted my steak 25%. I was not going to complain, but the meat was overall poor quality, then add in undercooked. I was also disappointed the GM did not come to the table. A 2.5 seems fitting. I tipped 30% to make sure the waitress was taken care off due to the discount. Her mistake was checking in too quick, but then not again after the meat was cut. If a GM had came to the table and offered an apology I would have bumped to a 3. I'm still a fan of the chain, but not rushing back. I also noticed the GM does not respond to poor reviews. I rarely review chains unless I have an exceptional experience, and this was one of those at the Longhorn on Wendover in GSO on Friday night. I'm a fan of Longhorn in general despite being a chain, and I find their food to be consistently good! I absolutely love the Parmesan Crusted Chicken. The chicken is juicy and well seasoned, blanketed with a creamy cheese sauce broiled to a crusty topped perfection. The sweet potato was also particularly yummy this night. I also think LH has some of the best ranch dressing around, and of course the warm, crusty bread with that delectable butter to start. Chef's kiss! The drinks are also great, with super cold beer and a great Jack & Coke special ($4.99!) and the bartender was not stingy on the pour. We sat at the bar and our bartenders were extremely efficient and kind. I observed the takeout area being very busy but operating with ease by the gentleman working that area, I was impressed! It was pretty bumping on this Friday night and the ambiance was fun and exciting, which made for a wonderful environment for drinks and dinner with friends. I'll add it to my list to check out. The waiter was on top of the orders and drink refills even with the many requests from our group. The prices were reasonable and they have good lunch options. So so sooo disappointed. I'll start by saying I prefer the LongHorn on Battleground to this location on Wendover. However, Wendover happens to be more convenient, so hey, I endure. I'm actually pretty picky about what I order to-go because it has to be made then it may sit waiting for pick up and then it sits while you drive back home and by the time you eat it the quality and temperature of your food has declined. However, my disclaimer is we had this exact meal from this exact location a few days prior and it was GREAT! Yesterday, we ordered the Parmesan crusted chicken and a medium 12 oz ribeye steak. For starters both portions sizes were off. Typically the Parmesan crusted chicken is juicy and cheesy but it was small, over cooked, dry, and burnt. My husbands ribeye which should have been medium was THIN and not just over cooked but charred, burnt to the max. Just in case you think I'm exaggerating my husband and I were at the table cutting into both of our entrees so hard that out bottled waters fell off the table and onto the floor more than once! I mean it was ridiculous that they even put that on a plate to serve someone. I called in to complain, which I typically don't do too often and the manager was understanding and immediately offered my money back. I accepted but kind of thought something more should have been done even a discount for the next time we came in especially since we drove 30 minutes to the restaurant and threw away our food when we got home. At 9 months pregnant I was out at 9 pm trying to find something to eat! What a waste of my time and so inconvenient for a hungry pregnant woman lol. The reason for the low review is not just for this experience-- it is for the many times I've eaten here both inside and to go and received mediocre service and mediocre or just plain terrible food. I can easily say I have had more mediocre food at this location than I have ever had good, which is sad. I like to go out for a steak on my birthday. I considered several places to do this and since I am registered with a lot of restaurants, I get email gifts around this time of year. I received an email from Longhorn promising a free dessert. Since I hadn't been there in a long time, that was enough to convince me. We were seated right away and the host took our drink order and brought us bread to help out the server. They must have been short handed, because the service was very slow. Although we had bread to start, we did not have bread plates and the only way to slice the bread is with the steak knife wrapped in a napkin. It did the job, but would leave the bread slice a bit flattened. Cocktails arrived after a long wait. To save time, we ordered appetizer and entrees at the same time. Items came out very slowly. The spinach dip was up first. Not bad, but the pita points were a bit greasy. After a long wait, the salads arrived. They were satisfactory. Finally the entrees arrived. I had the big filet that was cooked to a perfect medium rare. I also added shrimp to the steak. Initially, I ordered one skewer, but the server stated that two skewers is actually cheaper somehow. I took her at her word and had two. Both the filet and shrimp were over seasoned. Filet Mignon, because of it's flavor, needs very little seasoning, just a little salt. The shrimp were way over seasoned to a point they were both spicy and salty. At last was dessert. Our server offered to give it to us to go. I thought that was a great idea since we had been there quite a long time and were ready to go. Once home, we shared the caramel cheesecake. It was exceptional. Served with whipped cream and pecans, it was absolutely delicious. As we exited the building into the parking lot, a man was standing there asking people for money. It was dark and my wife felt a bit unsafe. We walked quickly to the car and left. We considered calling the restaurant to let them know about the man, but I felt that we wouldn't be able to get anyone on the phone. Being originally from NYC where we don't even have Longhorn restaurants, this was my first-time-ever dining inside of this particular steakhouse chain. Since we had no reservations, there was a 30-minute wait to be seated on an extremely popular Saturday night (the parking lot was jam-packed with customers' vehicles), yet we opted to leave their bar and patiently sat in the lobby instead, eyeing their menu until the kind (and cute) hostess was able to seat us. The young man with a massive head full of hair (pictured) showed us to our seats where a lovely Latina waitress took our orders immediately with a smile. I must confess that I was a bit disappointed at the restaurant untidy carpet, which was littered with several droppings of crumbs and debris... yet the vacant tables and their settings were kept clean. As mentioned earlier, this was a Saturday evening dining for us so the restaurant was kept quite full of patrons, nonetheless, there's no excuse to have the floors so grubby. As we waited for our steaks, our waitress never once lacked at providing cocktail refills and/or complimentary, warm bread and butter for my party's table. My steak was flavorful, tender, juicy and as I ordered (medium) and my bacon mac & cheese was scrumptious. After eating, I visited the bathroom to wash my hands before leaving only to find its trash can overflowing with discarded paper towels and its sink's countertops soaking wet. Overall, the somewhat pricey food was worthy of indulging, cool atmosphere for both families and dates enjoying themselves out-on-the-town, and the service staff was kind and competent... We went in for dinner around 6 pm on Sunday evening, put names on waitlist so was able to pretty much walk right in no wait. We put our order in for appetizers and then entree pretty quickly. Our server Sam was amazing! Fun, nice, and friendly. We kept waiting for our food, noticing others getting there's first but remained patient. Sam offered us more bread and apologized for the wait. After waiting almost 1 hour 15 minutes the manager came over and apologized. Said he would adjust the check.
