Strawberry & Pecan Salad (huge salad)

We stopped into LongHorn for dinner while traveling in the Charlotte area. We had a large group; maybe 20 of us... I ordered the Ribeye with house salad and fries. It was delicious and cooked just right. My wife and I shared it. My wife ordered the Strawberry & Pecan Salad and it was huge!!!! She couldn't eat it all! Our waitress did a great job taking care of us. The only negative; it was sooooo dark at our table and the table beside us. I had to use my flashlight to see the menu.

We had dinner here before heading to the amusement park up the street. We arrived early enough to get seated right away. We were happy to have the bread & butter quickly because we were on the road and were hungry. We ordered one appetizer and 4 entrees. No drinks from the bar, so, in my opinion an easy order. Well our entrees arrived and we were fine, but when they asked if we were good for now, we asked when will we get the appetizer? The waitress totally forgot and said "do you still want that?" We said yes please. Well we were just finishing our meals and she looked at us and realized she forgot the appetizer AGAIN. She did bring it out but we took it to go because we needed to get to the park. Long winded review but in essence we all enjoyed our meals and even tho there was a hiccup, we were pleased with our visit.

I haven't been here in a long time, I had forgotten how good the food and drinks are. Had a long pour perfect margarita(salted rum of course) the longhorn salmon, the delicious brussel sprouts and a good loaded baked potato. All delicious!!! My server Sophia was amazing? Super nice, knowledgeable and attentive. Now here comes my gripe and frustration with Longhorn...I sat at a table for at least an hour and watched the Manager and I'm guessing another lead go to three surrounding tables and ask them how their food and service was...very chipper and inviting but not once did they come to my table and check on how I enjoyed the food, service or if I needed anything That is a huge issue for me because not only am I the same race as the Manager(hate to bring that up) but it is noted, the tables he checked on and asked how they were doing was people of Caucasian descent. Super frustrating because we all are paying with the same green and/or card. My first time experiencing this here and I don't like that I saw it first hand. You never know who you're interacting with. Treat all customers the same

Longhorn has been our most consistent go-to steak spot. This was on Easter Sunday, wait to be seated was about 15-20 mins without calling ahead around noon. Spinach dip was not something I'd order again but everything else mostly good. The Longhorn Old Fashioned is Small Batch 9 yr old Bourbon by Knob Creek & it was potent, excellent. Went w 6 oz ribeye medium but should gone med well because too pink for my appetite. Took leftovers home heated more thoroughly in center. My wife had ribs; we have not been disappointed at any Longhorn dining, bravo.

Just to see if what we experienced was their norm or not. Fortunately, this was a good experience. Ordering took awhile, as we did not know their menu of options, but we got it done. Wife had a three sides plate ($8.49) and she liked it. And we ate in their outdoor patio, which was clean and tidy. I had a pastrami Sandwich City Meal which came with a side, but the kicker is that I had to pay for each side plus the meal. Sandwich ($10.99) I ordered "lean" as BBQ places usually leave the fat on your protein. The meat was pretty dry, but had a good taste. A side of creamy slaw was very good ($2) and I was able to eat some of wife's fried okra, which was also very good with ranch dressing. Beverages, like iced tea and Pepsi were $2.99 each. The tables inside were cleared with the exception of one large table that had their traditional display of uneaten food and debris. I only saw three employees: order taker, kitchen preparer and a woman who picked up the orders and brought them to you. Apparently City BBQ has yet to hire a bus person to clear and clean tables and to sweep the floor. Irony is that when we have been to events catered by City BBQ the food was excellent. We will not be in a rush to re-patronize this location.

I'm pretty sure the same people that are behind Horace's Hot Fried Chicken are behind this. They're delivery only. They don't deliver very far, so we went to Archdale Park. The delivery fees are hefty. It was $6.75 to get it delivered to the address they make it at. Up to $10 to get it delivered to the park. Our order: Pit Smoked Sandwich (pulled pork), Hot Queso Brisket Barbecue Sandwich, Big Rib Sandwich, Burnt Ends Dirty Rice. I'm torn on how to rate this place because the sandwiches were really good despite how bad the meat was. Both the ribs and brisket were so dry and chewy. We both almost choked on the brisket. The bread, queso, slaw, pickles, etc did make it an enjoyable sandwich despite how dry it the meat was though. The pulled pork wasn't dry, but it was also the least interesting sandwich. The rib and pulled pork sandwiches had a ton of meat on them. The queso on the brisket was amazing. The trend continued with the dirty rice. The burnt ends were incredibly dry and chewy. The rice was really flavorful and delicious though. The prices don't seem bad until all of the fees kick in. They really add up. This was the most expensive takeout we've had. I hope they offer a takeout option without all of the fees soon. Overall, I'm glad I tried it, but I'm not dying to try it again. I definitely didn't think it was nearly as good as Horace's.

Neither of my friends had ever had it, so I knew we needed an AYCE so they could try a little bit of everything. We found 704 on Yelp and headed there! We ordered a huge variety of items, including the soups, the cheesy corn, bulgolgi, pork belly, chicken, squid... everything that looked interesting :) It was so very very tasty! Since my friends were newbies, I cooked all our meats which they loved watching happen. The team working that evening were so quick that they replaced our grill several times throughout the meal without any impact to our enjoyment. We had so much fun that my friends are super excited to come back the next time we're in town! Another super fun thing that I didn't notice until we were leaving- the walls are decorated with really interesting artwork made of crushed cans! Out of the four of us, I was the only one who hadn't been here before. It's a long-standing, no-frills wing shack/sports-bar hybrid in south Charlotte that's built a loyal following around one thing: serious wings. There are other things on the menu--but unless you want an appetizer or something alongside your wings, ignore them--the wings are the main event. Their website claims 25 flavors, and if you order more than one set of five, you can sample more than one. I went with ten wings: mild Buffalo and lemon pepper. Everyone recommended the lemon pepper wings. These are not a dry rub; they're a wet, glossy toss--and they are OUTSTANDING. I'm hooked. The Buffalo wings were on par with the best versions of the classic style. They provide celery sticks with blue cheese or ranch dressing--I chose blue cheese--and it was a great accompaniment. We also had their Spicy Onion Rings as an appetizer before we ordered the wings. The onion itself brings natural sweetness and mild sharpness (especially when hot), while the batter/coating is where the personality lives: savory, slightly salty, and well-seasoned. DD Peckers' spicy onion rings are essentially a classic crispy onion ring elevated with a peppery seasoning--where the heat enhances the onion's natural sweetness rather than overpowering it. They have a great selection of craft beers and ciders and offer a full bar. Most of us had Olde Mecklenburg Brewery Copper, a local Charlotte beer. I had two bottles of Bold Rock Hard Apple Cider, which paired well with both the onion rings and the wings, along with a glass of Olde Mecklenburg Copper in between. Our waitress was attentive, fun, and efficient. She kept everything moving seamlessly, and all of our needs were met exceptionally. We all tipped her well. The food and drink here are quite a bargain--especially considering how iconic this restaurant is and how delicious their wings are. A great night with friends, good drinks, and incredible wings--what could be better?
