I hadn't been to LongHorn in years - so much to the point that I forgot why I hadn't been there in so long. I took the family for dinner the other night - was greeted immediately, sat right away and began looking over the menu. None of the appetizers enticed me - so we went right to the steaks. I did like that they illustrate the cuts of steak. Though I'm no stranger to steak - it was a fun read. I enjoyed the wide-mouth glass wear... It actually enticed me to buy a second Angry Orchard into the meal. I went with the 8oz filet, my wife had the steak tips and the little ones did Mac & cheese. Food came out in decent time and wasn't bad - but the quality and value vs comparable chains (ie Texas Roadhouse) just isn't there. My steak was cooked well - it just lacked any extra flair/flavor. It's clean. It's friendly. But my $ goes further elsewhere. Now I remember why it's been so long. read more

The service was absolutely HORRIFIC! I was one of two people at the bar but yet it still took the bartender a couple of minutes to come over to ask me what I wanted to drink (even though he was right there in front of me when I sat down). I ordered a filet medium-rare and it was definitely rare (which is ok, I order medium-rare because I like it rare to medium-rare and if you order a steak rare it is normally under-cooked). I was never offered any bread, and I have ate in the restaurant several times and was always brought bread. The steak and ceaser salad was good, but the service ruined the entire experience. I asked the bartender to change the TV channel to TNT to watch a playoff basketball game and he was unable to do it. He kept stopping searching for TNT at channel 220, as if there were no channels higher than that. He then just walked away and started chatting with his co-workers in the kitchen area. I was going to stay to watch the game and possibly order a beer, but I chose against that after the horrible experience I was getting. The restroom was a pig sty and was out of paper towels. I waited at the front of the restaurant to try and talk to a manager, but there wasn't even a hostess around. This was at around 7:30pm on a Sunday, so there is absolutely no excuse for the way I was treated and the way the restaurant was being ran. I wanted to order dessert, but the bartender just kept doing his side work and ignoring me so I just decided to pay my bill and drive across the street to Uno's for dessert where I found the basketball game already on the TV. Service was excellent! Our receipt said that our server was Susan J. and she was awesome! She was very kind, informative of the area, and just a really nice person. She was the best server we had on this entire week long trip. The lobster and shrimp chowder and steak tips were really good. My husband and I usually dine at LongHorn, especially for Special Celebratory Occasions, such as our wedding anniversary, birthdays, etc. However, this time was just to celebrate being home after a week away in Dallas, Texas to attend my stepfather's funeral. We opted for LongHorn because we were craving their absolutely delicious chowder. However, perhaps because the restaurant was so full that evening, our waiter (Jake) had to deliver the bad news...they were completely out of chowder!!! My heart sank so low that I lost my appetite. My husband, on the other hand, was okay with the Broccoli and Cheese soup, whereas, I was not at all. Actually, I was ready to go/leave!!!! Full of disappointment. So, I just ordered the chicken quesadillas and my lemonade and just played on my cell phone until they arrived. To my utter amazement; however, Jake brought me the last bowl of CHOWDER!!!!! I was so happy that I could not stand it! Of course, my husband was jealous because there was not enough for him, but that was okay by me. I was happy! And when the wife is happy, then he is happy. I did let him taste a little bit, though. From then on, I was happy, interacting with my husband, put away my cell phone, and was smiling from ear to ear. We hadn't been to LongHorn in a while, but we had a gift card we thought we should use so we headed over for dinner on a Saturday night. We arrived at 6 p.m. and were seated right away. My husband and I ordered their "perfect margarita" we both took a sip and instantly were disapointed. It was all sour mix. I was ready to give up and order a diet Coke but our waitress said their sangria is really good, so we tried the berry sangria, to me it tasted like Koolaide, my husband wasn't thrilled with his either, but we didn't want to be awful guests so he finished mine and I ordered my diet Coke. We ordered our appetizer, and dinners and had to ask twice for bread. The boneless buffalo wings appetizer came out and it was pretty good, however we were disapointed when our salads arrived a minute later. The ceasar salad was just ok. The dinners, arrived just as we were finishing the salads. I knew immediately that my steak was going back. I had never seen such a poor quality fillet in my life there was a very large white strip of gristle running down the middle, I asked for our server, and asked her to send a manager over. Upon looking at my steak she looked horrified and asked "what is that??" Needless to say she took it away and promised me a better one in just a minute. When she returned I had to point out to her that my sons steak was very undercooked. My steak arrived and it looked better than the previous on, but was very thin for a fillet and was over cooked as well. By this time I had had it and couldn't be bothered to complain about another thing. I am not really picky. I am just happy to have a night I don't have to clean up and can enjoy some quality time with my family. When our server brought our check over she said the manager had taken my dinner off the bill and appologized again. We will not be back. And by the sounds of the other reviews they may not be around much longer. What a shame. read more

My recent visit at your location was superb, my waiter Bryan was a confident, focused, reluctant, individual. My bone-in ribeye was cooked to a perfect medium rare, my wife got the salmon because she's insecure and a women, said it was good. The way my baked potato was buttered reminded me of the way I butter my wife's behind. Whoa. Apparently I took a dump all over this place in my previous review. There have been many return visits to Longhorn since then, and they have recovered well from the severe storms, flooding, etc that occurred here around that time. Service and food are always dependable. Know what you're in for - the majority of menu items are going to be steak, but they also feature a few sandwiches, some chicken and seafood as well. The wheat bread served at sitting is a nice addition. I think it's been axed from the menu but the loaded baked potato soup was always a good appetizer to start with. I always had a soft spot for Bugaboo, but have learned to move on. It's a pretty quiet atmosphere in the restaurant whether it's busy or not, everyone seems to be pretty civil here. Don't ever have much to complain about with the food. The rice does have a little spice to it but there are plenty of alternatives. Food is always done the way I've ordered it, and service is punctual. read more

So I was talking a work today with a friend and they pushed me in the direction of this place! I am sure glad they did! So I took my lady here right after work Sunday August 30 2015 and the place looks amazing looks like a rodeo restaurant lol. Very very nice place to dine and have a great meal so we get seated by the hostess within 2 minutes lol that's awesome!! Then looked over their colorful menus and saw a 20 ounce porterhouse steak and had to have it lol! Had a Cesar Salad first them like 20 minutes later my huge gorgeous steak came ! It was so tender and delicious! Did I mention I had the side of steakhouse Mac and cheese with bacon yummy!! Plus to drink had the white peach iced tea! It was delicious and then ended my stay with a good dessert The Caramel Apple Gold Rush Wow!! You have to see my pics to believe how good it looks actually I did a video!! Had a great day here! I came here last night for dinner because i havent been here in a while. It was crowded about a 20 minute wait for a table which is expected on a friday night. At least the food was good. We put our names in for a party of 4, and they gave us the little buzzer with lights and said about 25 minutes for a wait. About 35 minutes later, we asked how much longer. They had apparently been "calling" us but we were in and out. They CALLED us, but never used the buzzer. Then they were confused because they y wrote down 2 in party. Oh well. Got sat, waited a bit, finally ordered drinks and food all at once. The appetizers never arrived, food came out, apps came out later. Food was good, just didn't come out in the right order. Call ahead seating is available for this location and on a Saturday night I highly recommend it. We arrived at our time and waited about 10-15 more minutes but when we walked in we figured that would be the case because the place was packed!! Love the warm bread and it is nice to choose salad or additional side with dinner. Both my husband and I chose the salad. Our filet steaks were cooked perfectly and you cannot go wrong with the sweet potato with cinnamon sugar and butter! So so good! My husband still had room for dessert and chose a smaller sized banana cream pie slice which was surprisingly bigger than he expected. Our waitress was a bit harried and could have been a bit better with service (husband was almost done with his steak by the time she brought steak sauce and we never got the extra napkins we asked for) but all in all a very enjoyable dinner. read more

Decent restaurant, its clean, no murders and the foods pretty good. I like the stuffed mushrooms for an app and the filet is on point. Most of the drinks are run of the mill. Always get a good steak here. However this is the second expensive meal that was ruined by outrageously strong perfume. So strong it kills your taste buds. This is the second time it happened here. Took 40 minutes for a lava cake to NEVER arrive. I would not recommend this place to anybody.

The meal started well with a small uncut still warm load of whole wheat bread. Very tasty! The caesar salad was fresh and contain lots of shaved Parmesan cheese. I had the 12 oz. New York ribeye cooked medium well. It was excellent, tender juicy and flavorful. Unfortunately the cauliflower side was not up to the rest of the meal. Overcooked, mushy and flavorless. The desserts are mostly oversized and overpriced as has become the norm. I guess that is what most people are demanding now. But they do have 2 small deserts. I had the chocolate peanut butter jar. It was just the right size and was reasonably priced at 3.50. It had plenty of chocolate and peanut butter flavor. They also have a small key lime pie jar. read more

Alright. I know that this place is terrible. You know that this place is terrible. I know that you know that this place is terrible. So why even write about it? ...because it's SO freak'n terrible! I started to think that maybe it was some kind of joke, that maybe there was some sort of hidden camera somewhere and I was being "Punked". Maybe the waitress was actually Aston Kutcher in drag. How could a restaurant possibly be this deplorable and still be in business? Then I remembered; most Americans don't give a damn about what sort of garbage you force down their throats, as long as its salty enough, has some sort of silly name (like "Texas Tonion®") and is conveniently located near a shopping mall. (Or mega-store, Water Park or Yankee candle, etc.) But we, the "educated" consumer & savvy diner, we know better, right? So what was I doing there at this parking lot behemoth-assembly line food emporium and slop house? Well, we had a gift card that some well meaning relative sent from out-of-state, most likely purchased while waiting in line at a CVS, Walmart, or "Piggly Wiggly". (Most retail stores offer that sort of stuff nowadays, right up front near the register- it makes gift giving much more convenient... convenient and terrible.) But I figured, "Hey, it's a free meal- and how bad could it be..?" ...How bad could it be? Let's see...it could be very, very bad. What if you had an entire business that didn't care one iota about whether or not you "liked" their food or service; from the highest echelon of share-holders down to the 'lowest' of the dishwashers? What then? How deplorable would your dining experience be? You see, it doesn't matter what you or I or anyone really thinks about the place. Not to most everyone involved: The front of house staff; those underpaid, overworked youngsters just waiting for a spot at a more popular restaurant like Ruby Tuesdays to open up so they can go buss tables at a place that actually gets a heavy turn-over and happy diner guests - they don't particularly care whether your chunk of steak was cooked to your liking. You're either going to leave a tip or you're not, ya know? The front of house manager, he doesn't give a damned; he's counting days till the D.M. decides to pull the plug on that location to focus more on that sweet location near the interstate. The General Manager; what does he care? He once wanted to be a chef, now he's content to just steal cash from the till and the tip pool every night. "F&@k it", that's his strategy. The cooks back in that greased-floor hot-house of a microwave station? Why would they care? For what they get paid, just be glad they're not pissing in the soup. Every single one of them knows just how lousy the food is; they have to plate it- and it probably kills 'em a little every time they see a congealed bowl of "Shrimp and Lobster" dip leaving the pass. But what are they gonna do, write corporate and tell them to stop feeding the good folks of central Rhode Island microwaved salt-crap for lunch? I assure you, corporate doesn't care: either a restaurant squeaks by on reputation or location or it doesn't, and if it doesn't, and the costs outweigh the net for a certain number of quarters- well, they just pull the plug. Break the lease and get the hell out of Dodge. They have SO many other franchises under the umbrella of the parent corp. that the closing of one location couldn't possible matter. And besides, enough people-just barely enough- like that food just fine; it does after all, have plenty of salt, cheese and pork fat sprinkled throughout the menu to have most Americans coming back again and again. I could tell you all about the sub-par offerings: the mircowaved bread basket, the "Tonion" [which is a rather unimaginative take on the humble onion ring], or the boiled and nuked "Barbequed" baby back ribs- but ultimately it doesn't matter. You know the score when you walk into a place like this- it's going to be a horror show. I was just taken aback at the completeness of ineptitude and apathy. I just kept thinking, "I wish there was a zero star option on Yelp!" *I should say that I don't feel ALL chain restaurants are cut from the same cloth. Panera Bread, Ruby Tuesday's, Gregg's, Scramblers, and even Wendy's are all fine in their own way. Never let it be said that I'm a "food snob". Nothing could be farther from the truth. read more

I came in today with my two boys after a long day at the playground. There was a male hostess who made no eye contact with me ask how many in my party and I said three. He just told me to wait a few minutes and took my name down. We waited about ten minutes and within those ten minutes, five groups walked in and was seated right away. He had forgotten about us! I walked up to the lady and asked if our table is ready and she said she didn't see my name and gave us our seat right away. If I hadn't got up, I would've waited forever to eat! Valentines day and things can get crazy. There was a snafu with our call-ahead and things could have gone down hill quickly. Dave the manager took care of this right away and without any drama. For a Chain restaurant i thought their porterhouse steak was deliscious and would defenetly go back for the bread and loaded potatoes too.

Nope never again, went there a few times and it was ok, but then one night a buddy of mines and I came out to get some steaks. Walked in with no hosts so decided to just take a seat at the bar and let me say that it was only 9:30pm. Waited almost 15min no bartender ever showed up to help us.
