It's a chain and it's mostly good at what it does ... the steak notwithstanding. Our experience was positive. Excellent service. Clean dining room. Food and drinks served in a timely manner. (If you're a chain restaurant person, stop right here. You'll love this place.) We ordered appetizers and drinks. Both came out as they should have -- hot (appetizer) and cold (beer). I'm not totally happy that the only IPA offered here is an Anheuser Busch product, but so be it. The appetizer, a Butcher Board, was fine. Surprisingly good actually. The sausage tastes like it came from somewhere other than Oscar Meyer and the fried cheese, albeit fairly plain, hit the spot. Our dinner was the Delmonico steak. This cut has a storied history ... so much so that it comes from various places of the cow, depending on where you are. (It originated in NYC.) It's supposed to be a cleaner ribeye cut, and our server assured us that LongHorn's version fit that bill. I'm not so sure about that. It was more like a NY strip, which is not a bad cut. But it's cheaper and tougher. Still tasted fine. Just not a real Delmonico, with its fatty goodness. We'll be back here, but with more realistic expectations. read more

Me and my husband went today for a date. We ordered the shrimp for appetizer it was so good the smell the spicy smell to it. For our main dish I got the flo-filet with baked potato and Mac and cheese the fillet was juicy and seasoning was amazing the baked potato was alright the Mac and cheese was creamy and baked so good. We just celebrated my daughter's birthday at Longhorn. The restaurant was super clean as was the men's. Clean but very small. We had a good server but did not pay much attention to details. My granddaughter ordered a side order salad as her meal with a side order of mash potatoes. She got the salad early and the mashed potatoes later when everyone got their meals. I had the steak and shrimps in rice pilaf and a side order of steamed vegetables. Unfortunately the steamed veggies were cold. The steak was 6 ounces and very tender. It came with 2 skewers of large shrimps. OMG it was both a large order and too good to save for tonight at home. The orders may be a bit expensive but the quality and quantity was superb. A lot went well, but too much went bad. We went on a Friday night and was told to expect the wait to be 25-30 minutes. It took 45 minutes. Our very cheerful, upbeat waitress then took 10 minutes to get to our table and we ordered water, beer, and a 6 oz and 8 oz sirloin. After 10-15 more minutes of waiting my wife was ready to leave. I said no, we can do a review but we are not leaving now. About 3 minutes later bread and water arrived. The bread was great. It took another 10-15 minutes for the beer to arrive. My soup arrived shortly thereafter. The lobster and shrimp Bisque was great. Then the main course arrived maybe 10 minutes after I finished my soup. I looked at my 8 oz sirloin, which was both smaller and thinner than my wife's 6 oz sirloin. I would later find out on the Bill that our waitress mistakenly put my order as for a 6 oz. my wife's steak was medium rare just as ordered. My tiny steak was seasoned great, but was cooked medium well, and I had ordered medium rare. The loaded baked potato tasted great but was a bit small. It also could have used a bit more quantity of the loaded part since I was eating dry potato at the end. Anyway, a lot went well, but enough went poorly that we won't return. read more

I give you 3 stars because my wife's food was right on the money. My Father's steak covered with crawfish and shrimp was chewy, because the steak was 35% fat and not cooked to medium rare. 6/10/21. Went to Longhorn Steakhouse in Clearlake after waiting a year since Covid 19. We had another couple with us, dear friends. my husband & I have been coming here, an average of 6-8 times a year with family & friends since this location first opened. For over 6 years, after 1st ever ordering their sweet potato side instead of a baked potato, I was hooked & have always ordered it since. I've raved to everyone about how incredible this sweet potato side is with sweet creamy butter covered with brown sugar/cinnamon that has been carmelized so that you get a crisp topping similar to a Creme Brûlée. I also ordered, the crispy Brussels sprouts (1st time) & the Renegade Steak. The steak was a perfect Med. Rare. The "crispy Brussel sprouts" were like wood! Completely inedible. But the one thing I truly craved & Raved about to our friends with us was that incredible sweet potato. After a year of waiting, to be safe after Covid & all of us getting vaccinated, I was stunned when I saw a sweet potato that had about a heaping tablespoon of brown sugar, like right out of the bag, dumped on top of the sweet potato! No heat applied to carmelize it into that perfect "Brûlée " crust on top. Just a mound of brown sugar! a whole year we had all waited & I chose to bring our friends here as our first time eating inside a restaurant. I raved about that sweet potato on the way there & I simply could not believe that half my meal, the wooden Brussel Sprouts & now this sweet potato piled with a tablespoon of loose brown sugar, as if it were an afterthought?! I did not want to spoil the other others meals so I did not say anything. I pushed my Brussel Sprouts to the side, scooped off the loose brown sugar on the sweet potato & just ate the sweet potato without It, mourning silently that incredible topping it used to have. After everyone was done, the Managing partner came by & asked how was our meal. Everyone had a great steak. Their choice of a regular baked potato or steak fries with salads was ok even though one salad, which one of our friends asked to have dressing on the side & had to wait to have a new one brought out because the 1st one was drenched in salad dressing, was all satisfactor. I then told the managing partner about the inedible "wooden" Brussel Sprouts" & expressed my surprise & dismay at how the sweet potato came out with a dump of brown sugar on top that had not been carmelized like under a broiler. He then, in front of my friends & husband told me they had NEVER done their sweet potato that way (in essence calling me a liar!) His comment on the " Brussel Sprouts" was they would make it up to me the next time by doing better! He then told me I should gave asked for my sweet potato to be done in the way I told him it had been done in the past. Again indicating I was either lying or did not remember. Now remember I had been raving about their sweet potato for many many years to friends & family. I even make it that way at home for my husband because he loves it that way now! I was now humiliated in front of my friends, & offered no comp for inedible "Brussel Sprouts ". I will never return now. They have lost me, my family & my friends. I'm crying still at the humiliation I feel. My friend are so loving & expressed their anger at how the managing partner treated me. On our third visit to this location, we had been celebrating an anniversary. We each had a drink and shared bread the first time the waitress/ bartender came around. We then ordered a second drink, and an appetizer (1200 cal). During the appetizer I myself ordered a third drink. After eating the entire load of bread, and the appetizer, we ordered my fourth and her third drink, as my partner decided she needed more time with the menu prior to ordering her entree. Upon delivery of the third and fourth drinks, the server informed us, "I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but since you haven't had anything to eat, I'm afraid this will be the last drink I can serve you." Appalled and extremely embarrassed, I said we would need more time with the menu, and then decided to ask for the bill. We had to call an Uber to go to a different restaurant for our dinner because our ride was not available for another hour. Keep in mind we are not light drinkers, and had eaten a complete loaf of bread and a 1200 calorie appetizer. I understand the need to not overserve, however, we did not show any signs of inebriation. We were quiet and out of the public eye, with other guests showing more than ourselves. More than anything I wanted to speak with a manager.. however, when someone cuts you off from consuming alcoholic beverages, there's not much you can do to argue you're case. For example, the manager comes to the table, and you argue your case, and the server says, 'see, I told you.' It was in our best interest to leave, and although this had been my favorite longhorn location throughout the country, (I travel a lot), I refuse to return. 8/1 was my birthday dinner at Longhorn Steakhouse. We had about 21 people coming. I was so shocked at how the manager Anthony was so rude and hateful. We had 16 people and were waiting on a few more and asked if we could go ahead and sit down. They already had the tables pushed together. When we said we had 16 there he proceeded to push one table away. I asked why did you move that table and he said "You said you had 16". I said no there were 16 there and we had a few more coming so we started toward the tables and he slammed down the menus and I said what now? He said I didn't say you could be seated. So one of my friends said "Do you want us to go somewhere else? He said "Sure go ahead!" I was so shocked. The waitresses started seating us and were very nice. We ordered a New York strip with a bake potato, the server inform us that we could get another side and she recommended a salad, I asked what kind of salad and she mentioned a cesar, a house or a pecan with strawberries,, we said the pecan was fine. When the salad arrived it was very big even my wife was so surprised she said this is almost a meal. After we finished I asked for the check and while reviewing the bill I noticed we were charge for the salad. I put my credit card down and another server picked it up so I told him to find out why we where charge for the salad. Had the Longhorn Butcher Board for starters. Flo's Filet with half rack Baby Back ribs, and grilled shrimp, creamed Spinach and salad. My wife opted for the Napa Chicken and cauliflower au gratin. We split a Key Lime jar for dessert. This is what dining out should be. 7pm Friday dinner with no wait. ALL the food was delicious: vegetables were fresh, not frozen; steak, chicken, ribs and shrimp were cooked to perfection and seasoned to please the palette. The Key Lime was scratch made with lime juice and zest. Quality befitting a much more expensive restaurant. Our server, Jordan was spot on with her recommendations, and table timing. We even got a visit from Lisa, the manager, informing us of seasonal pairings and listening to our feedback. Noise level was low to moderate (even with the bar) and perfect for conversation. My whole family loved him and the vibe he brought to the table. Every time he left our table we were either laughing or smiling. I watched David as he talked to his other tables and they look like they were smiling and laughing as well. One of the guests at David's tables steak wasn't cooked exactly how he wanted it. David handle the situation politely and professionally. The service was good and he made sure our drinks were refilled. During this visit I sat at the bar & the server was good (I forgot her name). My heart was set on the lamb chops (I'm a sucker for lamb), plus $19.99 for 4 lamb chops, 2 sides & it comes with a salad of choice (great deal). Unfortunately the taste of the chops were not that great! So far my go to place for lamb chops remains Capone Bar & Oven unless Grazia can knock them down to second place. read more

OK. Wow. Maybe I'm just easily pleased (although I don't think so), or this place is really fantastic. We came here to celebrate me running my first 10k this morning, and man I'm so glad we did! We got there about 4:45 pm on a Saturday and it was busy; there was about a 30 minute wait, and that wasn't bad at all. Actually I was impressed that they said it was 30 minutes and it turned out to be 30 minutes. We were seated and our waiter, Chris showed up promptly to get our drinks order. I decided to order a Strawberry Goldrush, which was vodka and strawberry lemonade. It was good, but I didn't taste any vodka, and for $7.69 I think I will just stick with water. I didn't taste any vodka, although the strawberry lemonade part was yummy. We had a coupon for a free appetizer (join their e-club to get that coupon) and decided on the Wild West Shrimp; I was a little worried as my husband professes to hate seafood, but he LOVED these. They are spicy little popcorn shrimp with spicy cherry peppers and ranch. You get a huge plate, too. I seriously could make a whole meal of these spicy little crispy nuggets of happiness. They are that good; good enough that the seafood hating hubby kept saying "Mmmmmm" and he ate another one, and another. I decided on Parmesan Crusted Chicken with a salad and rice pilaf; hubby got a T-bone with a salad and seasoned fries. The T-bone was a good size and he said it was one of the best steaks he's eaten. And he's pretty picky about his cow. There wasn't a huge amount of fries but he said the steak made up for that, and better less fries and more steak than vice versa! Both salads were good; very fresh and crispy. Just a typical lettuce salad with cheese, croutons, tomatoes, an onion slice and cucumber slices. But still good. My Parmesan Chicken was covered in yummy, melty, bubbly cheese and was extremely good. They served two huge chicken breasts and I couldn't eat them both. Nor could I eat all the pilaf. It was good; not outstanding, but I love rice and really enjoyed it. if you're not really fond of rice you may not care for it. The service was outstanding. Everyone we interacted with was fantastic and Chris our waiter was really good and on his game. When hubby ordered his steak, Chris explained how they cook it and made sure that was OK with him. He also asked if we had been there before and explained that both the chicken and steak was always fresh and never frozen. Even the young man that filled our water was super nice and asked how everything was. The manager on duty (or one of them), I assume, stopped by to ask how everything was. The place is decorated in all western themed pieces and art, and I loved that you could hear the music but it wasn't so loud it drowned out your conversation. My call ahead reservation for 7pm was worthless. Started calling ahead at 6:30 but no one would answer the phone. When we arrived at 7 were told that the wait time would be 90 minutes. When I asked about the call ahead reservation was told they weren't offering call ahead reservations ! I told them the call ahead reservation was made at 10 am! Very strange that grilled chicken is an off-menu item. I had the grilled chicken/raspberry salad. Did not care for a hot chicken breast on top of a cold salad. We stay away from steaks there because somehow neither Longhorn or Outback can cook a medium steak. Saltgrass does much better and we really miss Texas Land and Cattle. One final note the cushioning in the booth benches is shot and needs to be replaced you can feel that your sitting in the wooden frame and you have to get your butt over it to get out. read more

Think about a time where a bad scenario could happen at a restaurant, and that's about what happened with us. Went with a group of about 12-15 people, and we were treated great bout your server. Then it happened: Nearly all the orders except 2 were wrong, and some steaks over cooked when they weren't supposed to be. It was really surprising that they could mess up so many orders, fortunately they corrected all of them. Secondly, the food didn't taste that great either, but it was pointless to mention that because we were just happy to finally get all of our correct orders. The only reason this place gets two stars is because the waiter took off his tip from the check and offered us all free dessert, however we were all full by the end of it.
