I give this a 4 stars because the food was good. I ordered the chicken strips with parmesan garlic fries. It was pretty good with the honey mustard! To start off, the staff was super welcoming and helpful as far as describing the menu. The appetizer Popcorn Spicy Shrimp was very good. We could tell that the shrimp were fresh. I had my filet cooked medium-rare and it was a tender juicy perfect steak. My husband had the bone in Ribeye, and he also enjoyed every bit of it. Our child had the kids menu burger. Longhorn Steakhouse doesn't disappoint on the Texas/Wild West atmosphere. The staff are wonderful and patient with you. Their location isn't bad, though parking can be a challenge even on the week days. On to the food, all our steaks and other meats were cooked just the way we wanted from medium well, well done, etc. The sides are great too. I was impressed with the dessert selection, my favorite so far, is the Chocolate Stampede. Caution: since it has six different kinds of chocolate (no white chocolate, thank goodness), you need to either share it or save the rest for later. The ice cream and whipped cream on the side are homemade and creamy, almost like decadence. Minor disappointment was the small dressing selection for the salads. Prices are expensive, Longhorn Steakhouse is still not a bad place to dine out. read more

I have only ordered to go and sat at the bar. It's close and when I crave a chicken fried steak it has a fair one. Not amazing and not cheap but it gets the job done. We had an Olive Garden gift card that was almost a year old that we had never used. I really don't like the Olive Garden so I had forgotten about it. I randomly found the gift card in a stack of old receipts and was reading the small print on the back. I had no idea that an Olive Garden gift card could also be used at Longhorn Steakhouse and Bahama Breeze. It had been a while since I had eaten at Longhorn Steakhouse so we went in after church on Sunday. Like most steak restaurants, they serve you bread while you peruse the menu and to keep you from gnawing your arm off. It is easy to eat too much of it and then you're full after you finish your salad before you even get your main course. We also started with Fried Green Tomatoes as an appetizer. They are set on a bed of lettuce and topped with feta and a red chili ranch drizzle. They claim it is very slightly spicy but I didn't taste any heat at all. If your concerned about spicy food, this appetizer shouldn't concern you. For the main course, my wife ordered the Bacon Wrapped Shrimp and Grits. It is grilled jumbo shrimp and sliced jalapeño wrapped in applewood smoked bacon with spicy Cholula butter sauce and fresh pico de gallo over cheddar grits. She said the grits along with the bacon wrapped shrimp were good but the combination seemed very rich. I ate a couple of her shrimp and a single bite of her grits. I liked them but agree with her assessment. I ordered the Redrock Grilled Shrimp simply because I didn't really want a steak. The Redrock Grilled Shrimp is a dozen grilled shrimp glazed with smoky tomato butter that is served over rice with melted garlic butter. They come on three separate skewers. Pretty good flavor and not really heavy. My son ordered the Flat Iron Steak. I don't really know which cut of meat this is. It had a decent flavor but he ruined it by ordering it medium well. I did take a small bite but personally, it was overcooked. I don't hold that against the restaurant. In my opinion, if you cook any steak past medium, it's not worth eating so I'll chalk that up to "I'll have to try it again someday and get back to you." The service was actually very good. We had everything we needed when we needed it. He was not overbearing or annoying. I was well pleased. The total bill was $68 not including tip for a middle of the road steakhouse. Not too bad. Bottom Line - Longhorn Steakhouse is a middle of the road steakhouse. The food was good. The service was great. I got to use by Olive Garden gift card at a steakhouse. What more can I ask for? My in law's gave my family a 75 dollar gift card to Texas Longhorn resturant. I have never been. So I was pleased to get the chance too go. But that feeling changed as soon as we walked in. We were met by the staff at the door. As we stood their waiting to be seated. The staff got into an argument over where are table was located. The table was no more that 5 feet away. But we got to stand there for ten minutes while two jack ass had a meeting about it. So we finally made it to our table. We order our food and drinks. Absolutely the worst experience I have had in years. At first all was fine as we entered. The waiter greeted us and took our drink order. We normally always tip 10.00 or 20% as I waited tables for the Pappas in the 90's. The waiter brought us bread and two plates and walked away saying he would be back to give us time to look over the menu. No exaggeration when I noticed the top plate was dirty I separated and found a cooked onion about an inch and a half by 3/4 inch stuck to the second plate. I'm not one to act a fool so I caught the waiter going to another table and explain what was wrong. He said sorry and walked away for 3-4 minutes and came back with two plates and set them down. Once again I separated the plates and they were still dirty minus the onion. The plates still looked dirty and my wife said you know he took them and wiped them off and brought back the same plates I saw him do it. So once again I asked to have new plates and finally we got new ones as they were warm like they just went through a commercial dishwasher. The food was ok on my end but the strawberry salad was made with over ripe strawberries. The whole time my wife was wondering if the plates we were served on were clean and lost her appetite. So at that point it was time to go and I did not finish eating.. I will never again go to this restaurant as there are too many other places to go to read more

I know for damn sure that is a health code violation. Sick! ...We went an hour and a half before they closed. It was a date night between me and my fiance. We are not rich but we chose long horn to have this special night where we spend our hard earned money. Keep in mind the lobby is dead, so you would expect an attentive server. IF you are going to a steakhouse, suggestion stick with a steak product. I love salmon so I ordered the salmon and it was greasy and was on top of untasteful also greasy bed of rice. We had the Filet Mignon, it was top quality beef, prepared exactly as requested. The fried okra was the best I have had, cut length wise with a tender flaky coating; outstanding. The sauteed mushrooms were equally good and the salad with crumbled blue cheese above average. Even the medium priced wines were a good choice. The french fries and the ambiance were mediocre. Texas is no joke for steak, and I took my entire family here during a family vacation cruise, where we stopped by since we were on our way to Galveston. We all had a feeling Texas was known for Steak, but we had no idea what a treat it would be. This place knows how to cook a steak. All those who ordered steaks (and there were plenty) was extremely satisfied with how it was cooked as ordered, and the quality of meat. I love a well seasoned steak grilled over an open fire - don't we all? LongHorn Steakhouse offers what I love, but just doesn't "get there". I have tried them several times, and they tend to overcook their steaks. As we all know (except LongHorn) steaks keep on cooking after you take them off the grill, so our medium rare steak always comes out medium to medium well - despite telling waitstaff our concerns. The quality of meat is what it is - lower, but their price is still kind of high for the meat you eat. Warm bread loaves and salad are very big plusses, but their "sides" are not impressive. LongHorn compares with other chains like Texas Land and Cattle, Texas Roadhouse, or Logan's Roadhouse - I would choose Texas Roadhouse every time. I've never wrote a review and I've been to many amazing Steakhouse's, I have to say Longhorn is to perfection (I am an extremely picky person, like someone mentioned don't know it I am easily pleased lol because this review is all praises) from all the staff, food to the price, especially the price we spent about a third of what we usually spend at an upscale steakhouse and they definitely have upscale steaks. We feel like we got the best bargain ever lol. My boyfriend convinced me to go and I'm glad I gave in. We got the Porterhouse for 2 med-well it was cooked perfectly so juicy, kudos to the chef (we destroyed that steak my bf's exact words lol). The table side steak sauce is the most amazing sauce I've ever had the smell was incredible you can just imagine how delicious it is. We also had the Shrimp appetizer delicious, ohh and both sides were very yummy Mac and mashed potatoes, that steak just won us over (the honey wheat bread I think it was, is really good too.) The décor all I can say is who cares the food is incredible lol, I think it was western I don't know I was too into our food to really pay attention. Last but not least the staff was great from the host; we had like 3 servers lol all great very funny and the manger. Oops! If you go, hope your experience is better. I think you're better off going to Roadhouse in Pasadena (Spencer at Beltway 8). This new restaurant has great potential but fails at food and service (what else is there? Ambiance, I suppose). The menu does a good job at explaining the different cuts of beef, how it's cooked and offers non-steak eaters good options, but fails at executing them. Although cooked correctly, the cuts of beef are substandard with little to no flavor. One of the leanest cuts (NY Strip), was a third chocked full of gristle and fat. The Parmesan crusted chicken breast was topped with a mountain of mozzarella, hardly any Parmesan and hid the yummy, creamy garlic sauce atop the chicken. Only half the steamed veggie medley (my side dish) was raw. The broccoli and zucchini were never even touched my the steam. Each entree comes with a salad and a side. A request for additional Caesar dressing, never came. While ordering the baked potato for the NY Strip, a request for no cheese was simply ignored. When asked what vodka was used in the "house-made" vodka, the server didn't know. The server did acknowledge not bringing the Caesar dressing, did inquire about what vodka was used to make the house-made vodka (btw, Stoli passion fruit soaked in pineapple - YUMMY), but made no mention about the cheese added to the baked potato probably because the server didn't actually serve the meal. Come to think of it, the only thing she did serve was the cocktails and table bread. In summary, better cuts of beef that are seasoned well before hitting the grill and thorough training of the service and cook staff are required if this place is going to succeed.
